- Hopefully this helps some people out that are trying to DIY install some aftermarket speakers. This is for the Genesis Coupe BK2, mine is a 2015, but I believe both body styles have the same door panels and process. I also had the base sound system, not sure if it’s the same or different for the upgraded sound system models. Let me know if you guys would like to see the rear speakers as I can’t find a single video on youtube on how to do those that might help some people out.
Hardware used:
Speaker install brackets-
Metra Electronics 82-7301 Speaker Adapter for 2010 Hyundai Genesis

Front speakers harness-
Metra Electronics 72-7300 Speaker Harness 2-Possition 2-Way Pair Speaker Harness

Rear speakers harness:
METRA - Speaker Harness - Kia/Hyundai 2014-2018 - Pair (72-7303) a.co/d/6kzvLFm
Speakers that I installed:
Rockford Fosgate T1650 Power 6.5" 2-Way Coaxial Full Range Speakers - Black (Pair) a.co/d/7KGu3ku
Foam for speaker mounts:
If you want to use foam when you go to mount your speakers, I recommend getting thinner foam like this so you dont run into issues like i did, I only bought a 13 ft roll and it will be more then enough foam for all 4 speakers-
Weather Strip-2 Rolls, 1/2 Inch Wide X 1/4 Inch Thick,Neoprene Weather Stripping High Density Foam Tape for Doors and Windows Insulation,Total 26 Feet Long(13ft x 2 Rolls) a.co/d/if65aKF
Sound deadening adhesive matt:
(I bought a lot because I plan on doing all the door panels and trunk area when I do my subs, you can buy less if you only plan on doing the door panels)
Dynamat 10455 18" x 32" x 0.067" Thick Self-Adhesive Sound Deadener with Xtreme Bulk Pack, (9 Sheets) , Black a.co/d/coAAI3h
Screws for mounting the bracket to the door:
#14 x 1 inch
OR
1/4 x 1 inch
Try to get small head screws so the brackets dont get in the way when mounting
(#12 screws might also work, not sure)

I used the screws that came with my speakers to mount them to the brackets, if you’re buying your speakers brand new they will come with similar screws that will work for the brackets.

I'd recommended mounting the beacket first and then the speaker. And mount the bracket using screws and nuts and dont make new thread into the metal. It will eventually give or if you take it off
The corolla also uses rivets and not screws btw
I have no idea why Hyundai used rivets instead of screws to mount speakers.
because its hyundai and they love doing things as cheap as possible
Yet the backs are just in cages easy as can be 4 screws strip a little wire and put connectors on and you are all done
So does toyota. You have t completely remove the speaker mount for the corolla or modify it
@@harrisonscheier3820 Hyundai isn't the only manufacturer to use rivets to secure a speaker bracket to a door. It's a final assembly that wasn't intended to be removed. It's possible to cut out the old speaker from the OEM bracket and mount an aftermarket speaker in it. Doing so would simplify the install as long as the new speaker doesn't come into contact with the door panel.
What year is this? Mine is 2011 so im wondering if it’s the same and is it the tweeter speaker when I’m looking online?
This is the 2015 but all models are the same I believe. This is just replacing the speakers not the tweeters, but the tweeters are also in the door panel if you plan on doing those.
