Great video. Best way to set yourself apart in these tutorials is saying what size screws were used! Thank you for doing that!
Thanks for watching
Your video was the best I have seen for this job.
Thank you, thank you!
Too bad I didn't see this video before yesterday...I also learned about the bracket the hard way. Thanks for showing how to adjust the window once installed!
Thanks for the vid, I was told to also replace the window motor, is that separate from the regulator?
Usually just the regulator. Motor should be fine
I found your video very helpful, I will be visiting my local junkyard and picking up one myself
I replaced my last one (driver side) with my homies was so happy to have two working windows. Of course this guy found the easiest way to do because we took out and need two guys to hold the window! Long story short two weeks after that my passenger side went out and I cant meet up with my friends, so now I have a solution! Thanks so much!
Great to hear
Question: it appears that you replaced the regulator but retained the motor. I've recently had mine fail (2010). How should I diagnose whether it needs a new regulator, motor, or both? Thanks -
Just the regulator. The motors are fine. Occassionaly the switches are a problem.
Nice video! My window just broke today sadly... I hear clunk in my door than it barely rolled up and I can't get it all the way up. Do you think this replacement will fix the problem based off my little scenario
Also I can still hear something moving around in there while driving. But the window stays almost all the way up.
Thats all you need
@@PowerUpAuto thanks man I will give it a try
@@aaronmoravec345 let me know how that goes. i have the same exact problem.. i can hear something clunking and cracking inside. it completely stopped going up moments ago
@@jorgevico8170 just finished and am driving. I will tell you in a sec
Curious, I need to replace mine for our 2013 model, when I search on rockauto it shows 190ish Cad, but if I search for a 10-12 model year they show one for 82$ cad... Any idea what the difference is between 09-12 model vs 13-16 model that it wouldn't fit?
I took my Genny into a shop to get the windows tinted last week. After getting my car back, my passenger window isn’t auto cracking or closing to close the door. Do you know what’d cause that? And if there’s a fix for that? Other than that the window goes up and down fine. It’s pretty weird. Also hello from Florida as well 🌴
The extra thickness of the tint may be causing the problem. OR you need to replace the window regulator.
Thank you for the video it made my experience much easier
Glad it helped
@@PowerUpAuto How do you take out the power window regulator if the window is all the way down and won't go up?
Really great video really informative thank you sir!
how do i know if i need to replace the motor or the regulator? My window goes up and down but it is slowwwww
The motors do not need to be replaced. Probably the window regulatoe.
Hey I have a 2011 genesis coupe with the window stuck halfway down it doesn't sound happy and the window has play to it do you think that it's the regulator?
It is the regulator
Do you have a video on the 2014 Hyundai Genesis sedan regulator???
Sorry, no. We've done 20 of these but only 1 was a sedan.
Where did you put that drill bit to lock it up?
just below the cross bracket on the glass
Top quality video, thank you !
Thank you too!
What is the name of that tool you used to install that little clip thing that you forgot to install? It looks like a 2 handed scissor or something? I had to install the regulator without that clip, doesn't seem to affect the panel though. In the end the window goes up and down but the glass is a little bit loose and doesn't line exactly, its a millimeter off compared to the passenger side
Just an upholstery tool
@@PowerUpAuto well i installed everything without that little clip thing that you forgot to install originally as well. Hope its not vital
My window is actually dropped behind the regulator. How would i get it up?
remove the window motor. Remove the speaker (Might need to drill off the rivets). You should be able to then push the glass up. We drill a hole under the cross bracket and put in a screw to hold it in place until we can replace the regulator.
Just regular screw and bolts correct? No star screws?
The motor is held on by Torx 30 screws.
Is the 4 door much harder ?
Easier actually
@@PowerUpAuto ok thanks do you think its my regulator though i was driving to work and if fell straight down and i here a little noise but almost as if its jammed
@@gabrieljimenez1893 Its certainly the regulator
hi from germany, my keyless „open doors by press the doorbutton“ work sometimes not (driverdoor only) passengerdoor works well. what is the reason for: door opens sometimes, sometimes not. sometimes it colses not, than it opens not. thanks for your time
Most likely the lock actuator/latch assembly. Probably what you will need to change.
I did this today, turned out the White plastic that goes behimd the motor had grinded itself down. Anyways, a really good tutorial and if you just follow it Step by Step it will do nicely. However, after ive tightened down the window before i started (with silver tape cause im a poor man) i noticed that i never had to correct the glass afterwards cause it was already locked in, in a nice position. So you could keep that in mind.
Sorry for bad english. ¬\¬
Glad it helped
Do you have a link where I can purchase the driver side window regulator with motor?
I've been buying them on Ebay or Amazon.
Hey my window still rolls up and down but whenever it feels like it what is wrong with it I have a 2010 coupe
Most likely the window regulator. Video above.
Where did u buy the regulator?
you can find these online
I have a 2011 Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8 grand touring and I need passenger side so I’m not sure where to find it online.
@@Debnuhh go to ebay or amazon. Type hyundai genesis coupe window regulator in to the search box.
My window won't go up, and don't want to spend the money to fix it. Can I get the window up manually and leave it alone, never using it again? It's on the passenger side, and never have anyone else in the car.
Of course, remove the door panel, remove the window motor. You will be able to raise the window. Drill a drill bit just below where the cross bracket is and that should do it.
@@PowerUpAuto what about during state inspection? Won't they check driver door power windows?
@@dipzydooer Not in Florida. Your state mileage may vary.
So its the same way with right side of the genesis coupe door
For the 2 door coupe, yes.
Is the sedan much harder
My window is all the way down and won’t go up. How do I fix it then?
To get it up for the meantime remove the door panel, remove the window motor, remove the speaker. You should be able to push the window up for now. You will need to replace the window regulator. Check out the video and let me know if you have any other questions. Scott
Hey man, thanks for the vid! My window is currently stuck all the way down. How can I pull the window up a bit to get access to the bolts behind the two bottom grommets?
Remove the window motor and the speaker. Should give you access to push the glass up.
Did it work? I have the same issue
@@Kana-fk9cu no, do not remove the speaker. It is sealed on, if you take it off you will need a new one.
I had to remove the window motor then bend the metal to get my hand behind then push the window up. It was not a good time lol
This mechanic is trying to charge me 700 dollars for this. You did it in less than 10 minutes
Well, the video WAS at double speed
i have a problem where the window only moves if the door is open
Seems like a cut or crimped wire in the rubber boot between the door and the body of the car.
Blocking everything you want to show.
This window regulator is a horrible design. I’ve replaced it 3 times in my 2011 coupe. I purchased all of them at auto zone and fortunately it has a lifetime warranty. I think I know why….
The autozone parts are aftermarket. Try using a Hyundai part, they last 8-10 years
You don’t make sense!
You probably shouldn’t be working on cars if you think this is hard 😂
