Just a tiny piece of info for you. "Casal" apart from meaning couple or pair, also relates to a rural property, less important than a farm "quinta". (Quinta nowadays is used almost for any house with a little bit of land. The original term, Quinta, refers to a large property centered by a stately home. Like the fabulous old English mannors and stately homes across the countriside). So, a Casal, was kind of a more modest version of a stately home with a decent parcel of land, but not on the hundreds or thousands of acres like a quinta.
So Casal Novo means New (small) Farm House
