It’s wet & windy & the perfect day to stay in the motor in the warm through this stunningly valley

Firstly I must apologise I called this Ogwen Valley at the start of the video, but it’s not it’s the Nant Ffrancon Valley, it does join the Ogwen valley at its West Point.
Nant Ffrancon is a spectacular valley which lies sandwiched between the Carneddau mountains and Glyderau, dozens of waterfalls run off the mountains into the valley especially after heavy rain which we had the day before our drive.
The old road was replaced in the early 19th century when Thomas Telford built the A5, can you imagine all that traffic along the old road in the present day!

One of Nessies favourite roads, it's not that long but a beautiful drive in all weathers, i'm sure it will feature again on another day in better weather, it is quite a narrow road and not a lot of room for error but that's right up my street.

Hi Peter, I don't think a lot of people have driven that route, it's one of those old roads that is hidden away as everyone uses the A5, i have known about it for many years but it's only the second time we have driven it, now from both directions as we drove it the other way round earlier in 2024, no doubt we will do it again on a sunny day next time 😊 Andy

Andy , have you ever driven the B4407 from Pentrefoelas on the A5 down to Festiniog? It was on my list of things to do but…..!

@ Yes we have Peter but it will be a long way back in our videos as not done it for a while, think it could be back in 2023, great road that one and have driven it many times before we started RUclips, I’m sure we will be driving it again in the future, it’s definitely one for a sunny day 😉
