    I can respect the horsepower of the new engines but alas I stick to old school v 8 power! Nothing like a big block points flat tappet 10.1 450 horse old school monster to make me smile!!!

      Hellz yeah! 2-1 wouldn't do much more I think. It would waste spark during the exhaust cycle if the distributor survives the x2 rpm. The distributor normally runs .5-1 in a normal setup so I just kept it the same lol.

    i was kicking around with this idea with a coworker a week ago, low and behold you were uploading this video like a total gigachad proving it works. total badass. think this would work with a chain and sprocket like from a bike chain or something? im thinking for the mad max aspect, i live in the desert and rubber dries out here. maybe a short segment of motorcycle chain for the higher rpm? might be a bit lower profile for water pump clearance.

      We must be in tune lol. Yes I get what you are saying about the chain but you would have a lot of rotational mass I think. A chain from a quad timing chain is even smaller than a bike yet and will most likely do better. The water pump, all I got is a pump spacer kit. Very affordable and quick solution. The pump pulley is wide enough to take the offset. Thanks for the support!!

      @@TheUn-namedProject one more question for the class. where do i, or what are the brand/specs of those little timing pulleys and the belt? ive found a lot of them on various websites like mcmaster but theyre not cheap and theres a lot of specs that im not sure on. you know how mcmaster is im sure.

      Amazon buddy. They are 15mm pitch belts and pulley. Make sure that you have 2 that are the same size and that the bore is ½". Most distributors have a ½" shaft. The belt is also ½" wide. Hope that this answers your question.

    I’ve seen this type of distributor drive on big block Chevy and I always thought if this is do-able on ls but how does the coil know when to fire correctly like by crank sensor or cam sensor I get that it’s wired by firing order as it spins it goes in order but how does it know if it’s firing a bit to early or a bit ró late cylinder by cylinder like top dead center

      Good question my friend. To answer it, there is a reluctor wheel inside the distributor that sends a pulse to fire the coil 8 times per revolution. Then by turning the distributor, you can make the rotor inside touch early or late and set your ignition advance that way. I hope this helps and thank you for your support!!

    not an LS2 or LS. All LS blocks are aluminum.

    Any chance you can share part numbers for cog gears and distributor? Id love to try this out

      I can absolutely. The distributor is a simple msd knock off from ebay and is for a sbc. Then if you look on Amazon for the belt and cog gear, they come up in multiple sizes. You wanna make sure you get a ½" bore though to make it easier to install. I used a ½ wide with a 15mm pitch belts that is 430mm but I suggest going longer to a 530 so you can mount it higher up lol. Also, the factory water pump fits if you clearance cut a bit and use ¾" pump spacers. Hope this helps amd thanks for your support!!

      It is a speedmaster unit. The crab cap model that I modified. I can't remember the product number but they are easy to find online. Thanks for you support!!
