This is a wonderful story. I choked up at the end, what happened, the hospital mistake & the switch, and I'm 73, the father of 4 adult kids. My wife is an R.N. retired from the V.A. She has heard of rare instances of this happening with adults in the system.

Yes, I understand many times it is the worst case scenario, but its not, you will ruin your marriage, even if you don't get divorced, the trust is broken because in time of need you did not trust him, he will be very deeply hurt.
The one thing is bad in todays society is that people do not take time to really get to know each other, and I dont mean living together, by that time, when youa re already sleeping together, it's too late. My thought- the wife was overly shut down to begin with, possibly due to experiencing the death of the baby in infancy, she thought was hers. Doesn’t she seem overly judgmental and closed minded to everyone? The first measure of a LOVING heart is KINDNESS. She lacked this, thinking to divorce rather than embracing the little boy and asking could they adopt the little lonely boy! Open hearts find solutions based on love.
