Watercolor Wednesday is one of the highlights of my week. As always, thank you for sharing Mr. Clark. And Margot, too! 🥰 Cheers 🥂
You are so welcome as always Nancy!!!!
Thanks for dragging me away from my 0 and 00 brushes now and then. I get buried in details. Such a lovely way to do it!
You are so welcome!
I always look forward to wednesdays, but last night, with the (latest ) horror here in the U.S. keeping me awake, it was a sanity-saver. Thank you.
Glad it helped in some small way!
Just love this Paul.
Cannot wait to release my brushes on this beautiful sketch thanks all.
My pleasure 😊
My hump day pleasure. Thank you as always, your work is wonderful.
Good to hear Janet!
Simply gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
love wisteria
Your videos are the best on RUclips! So much effort and clear instructions. Thank you so much 😊
That's very kind - thanks Anju!
What a masterpiece Paul!
Oh man Paul, that is an awesome painting dude! yeah man you knocked this one right out of the park!
Thank you! Cheers Chuck!
Wednesday is my favorite day because a new tutorial is released! I love both! I laughed out loud at the comment “I don’t know which god this statute is, but he’s the god of frisbee throwing”🤣. I love your painting and your sense of humor
Yay! Thank you Angie!
Your sharing is so good. The picture is so beautiful and lovely. Your details are so sharp. Beautiful painting. Amazing !😍😍💗
Thank you so much 😀
Really like this!! Love wisteria!!
Thank you Paul for your Beautiful painting video and the PowderMills Hotel grounds. Looks like a wonderful place. The student artists look focused and happy.
Absolutely Beautiful. I had seen so many pictures of Houses with blooming Wisteria and wished I could try them out. And A big salute to your sincerity dedication in recording a tutorial inspite of illhealth. Hats off to you. 🙏
So nice of you - thanks!
Beautiful. Love watching for the painting lessons, but your Sense of humor definitely adds an added enjoyment. “Frisbee God”. 👍🏼 And I will be quoting you, “We’re after character, not precision”. Brilliant. Many thanks Paul.
You are so welcome Sue!
I haven't put brush to paper for a while now but having found myself housebound I thought I might give it another go. Looking for inspiration I found your watercolour tutorials and I find I rea,ly do want to give painting another go. Thanks Paul.
Please do! .... have fun!
Ah, good old Powdermills :) Have good memories of there and my mum has the peacock painting framed on her wall. Maybe see you there in September!
Hi Steve - be great to see you there!
Thank you! Lots to learn on this beautiful painting. ❤️
Glad it was helpful!
I love that picture; I will definitely try this one. I'm jealous of your wisteria, I've had one for 10 years that's huge, and it didn't flower once. Thanks for painting it.
Cheers Vicki - that sounds very odd about your wisteria!
thank you Paul your painting makes my Wednesday 🌹👍
My pleasure 😊
Really great work on the purples and use of m fluids - fabulous end results
Thank you! Cheers!
Adding in the real time segments helps to see how you are actually doing those brush strokes
Thanks - yup, I'll do that now every week.
Thank You so much Mr. Clark!!!!!!!!!
You are very welcome
You are such a great teacher. Your forethought and anticipation of challenges for artists are so clearly there. With humour and positivity you inspire me to have the confidence to try. I also now must have a Pimms. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
I love the wisteria I want to try this next. I want to tell you that I received your book today and I love it, I was in the middle of the blue door and was excited to find the tutorial in the book. Thanks for all you do! 😘
Yay, thank you! - hope you enjoy it Sherry!
One day when I'm all grown up, I'm going with one of your tours/retreats! (I'm 60 - haha)
You should! Lol - I'm over that age and far from grown up!!!
That is so great. Thank you! Greetings from Germany Reni
Thank you too!
Superb work Paul! You make watercolors seem so easy. Thank you for sharing!

Im all caught up with your videos now, and they are still gems as always. Thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Glad you like them!
New to your channel, followed you from Jenna Rainey's suggestion. I can't wait to learn more. Wisteria is a favorite of mine! Growing up in Wilmington, NC and the beaches here, Wisteria is everywhere along with Spanish Moss!
Thanks Paul, a great tutorial, I am going to give it a try for sure! and I 'd say that the statue is a discobol, a 'disc thrower' , meaning a greek athlete...
Cool, thanks!
Lucky you, your gardens, your flowers. You have a admirable life from my observation. My name is same so love to see you sign. I am stuck in California longing to return to my English/Welsh roots. Maybe baby some day, I tell myself. Painting is my traveling these days. Learn a lot from you. thanks
Great to hear - thanks for sharing!
Lovely! I had this on in the background and kept thinking man, Paul is sounding tired or sick. I finally thought to check the playback speed. I had slowed it down at some point in order to follow along and forgot about it.
Lol! - love that!
What 50% aren’t subscribed? I would subscribe just for the positive happy feeling you project even without the great teaching you do.
Awesome! Thank you Ruth!
Oh Paul, I really like this. It is so beautiful.
I'm glad you like it Cindy
I really enjoyed today's Watercolor wisteria Wednesday!. Such lovely paintings, as always. Thank you, Paul and Margot, for so generously sharing your time and takents!
Glad you enjoyed WWW - many thanks!
Really enjoyed this one Paul.
Fabulous! Paul makes it look easy but I know from experience it isn't!
Thanks for changing my $ to American Currency. Wish you had sent me a note. Just happened to check it. Thanks for all you do. Barbara
Thanks again - that's so kind of you ... not sure what you mean by changing to $ as it's all done by RUclips but we really do appreciate it! ... cheers - Paul
So beautiful, I'm new to watercolour painting and hope that one day I will be able to produce something so lovely, your painting is amazing and I love to watch your vidios.
Thank you so much Jean 😀
I love how you can paint everything in more loose and simple way. Normally I would hesitate to try this beautiful scene
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you so much for sharing your obvious extensive knowledge. I loved the tutorial. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
had to add a comment. Really lovely and wonderful instructions. Thank You and your wife for this great video! Happy summer from NH. (usa)
Same to you! - thanks!
This came out making the place look more inviting and romantic than it appeared in the photo. Perhaps they'd pay you well to use it in their advertising. Good technique: masking fluid over the purple to preserve the brilliance of the flowers. Thanks, as always🙋🏼♀️🌿
so inspiring! i can't wait to try painting it today :)
greetings from Ukraine 💙💛
Thank you! Cheers! 💙💛
Thanks again Paul.
Very welcome
To tell the truth, the wisteria have already withered in the south of France... but it is a pleasure to see them again through this very pretty watercolor. Thank you for all the tips we learn from you...And so disappointed not to be able to take part in these artistic retreats...
Thank you for the lesson and helloo from Russia.

Thank you so much for not one but two Tutorials this week Paul. Especially loved the mini film on location. You really do bring the other side of the world into my home. Wonderful wisteria is a favorite of mine, thank you for always sharing your skills and adventures. Take good care & happy painting 🌿
Great to hear! - thanks Deborah!
It's making me happy. Thankfull for you.
So nice of you
Brilliant at usual, not an engineering drawing love it 😂
Thank you very much!
How beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Lovely painting, thank you!
Thank you too!
Beautiful! I would be interested in your approach when it comes to compositions of hydrangeas. Often these are painted in expressive colours that are gaudy, but hydrangeas in the rainy season with more melancholic, softer tones would be a welcome change.
In case anyone was also looking for the last song.... Vaeceslav Draganov - Horizon 😄🌸
Great suggestion! - many thanks!
Good to watch
Cheers Gary!
Too good sir another challenging painting after Kashmir. We did tht with some fiddling will take this also . thankyou so much .
Most welcome 😊
Fabulous - really enjoyed that, Thank you.
Many thanks!
Beautiful, I used to have one!
Thank you! Cheers!
What Fun ! The playful loose style is exactly what I needed. Its easy to let the expectations of others ( esp those we love and care for ) and even worse the expectations I put on myself put a screeching halt to my paintings. I have noticed fun exercises like the loose vs tight example you provided , go a long way toward getting me back in the groove.
Each video is packed with great tips and info to help us improve and grow during our watercolor journey. For example, the section of "real time" showed your careful and seemingly deliberate single stroke of the paint brush to paper even in this loose relaxed style of painting. Your hand and brush were easily visible as you touched paint brush to paper. Sometimes in a sped up version, while they are also very useful, it can deceptively look like you are dabbing all over the place ( lol ) in a back and forth over and over motion but in reality you are painting a single stroke, not a back and forth motion over and over the same area.
Being able to clearly see your hand and brush tip in real time allows us to see exactly how you are painting. This is so helpful to a new to watercolor artist like me. This is just one small examples of the information that can be gained by watching your videos, and the excellent way you present how you paint. Thank you for taking time to do these and share your talent with all of us. Thank you so much for every video .
Wow beautiful, can't wait to have time to try it ! Thank you so much !
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much!
감사합니다.
Very kind! - thanks a million!!!
I cannot decide which of your styles here I like more! I guess I have to settle with this...they both have such unique beauty and character that I just love them both for different reasons. Thank you, sir!
That's good of you to say!
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
I'm drawing with You for a year. Your channel is one of my favorites. I noticed a yellow and blue Ukrainian flag behind You. Well. Now Your channel has become just the best of my favorites. You are beautiful not only as an artist, teacher, but also as a person!
Awesome! Thank you! - so kind of you!
Looks like fun!
Hope you have a go!
Hi Paul:
Your first video of real life outdoor beauty was gorgeous! I don’t always have time to paint, but I watch your videos until the end. Love both techniques. You’re so generous with your time to teach. Thank you so much. 💜😎🇺🇸
