I'd take the 327cu.in. and trick it out a little. Some fuel, exhaust, and suspension work, radials, and we're good! 👍😉

Makes me glad I didn't buy the 1962 model and waited for these updates.

Wow I didnt know the 409 was a option in the trucks. Be rare to find one of those

They even made a song about it.

@@marthagomez7335 that song was about a Impala SS 409 car. Not about a truck

409 is a 409 no matter what it’s in. A 409 can be installed in one of those trucks. If you have the money, you can put a 350 Cummins diesel in it.

At 5:22 I can't believe how many misaligned body panels and trim pieces are in this one tight picture. Totally unacceptable today.

Apparently you have never been around a 73 up square body, in particular, the ones with chrome mouldings the cabs and the beds rarely ever lined up ,the interiors were often plagued wit paint runs misaligned panels ,the 60-6 GM trucks were like a Mercedes compared with the body styles that came afterwards.

At one time or another I owned a 67, a 71, and a 78 GMC. I agree with you. Things got really out of hand with the square bodies. I remember the factory paint literally falling off the 78 box sides and door in sheets.

Thank you,the sad part is I was just getting started, and I like the square body,in particular the C-20 and C-30s. They had better and stronger frames, the 14 bolt corp axle, and the grease able old style front suspension and good power steering, and great AC .I wish GM didn't see the need to pinch quality on the hood hinges and hoods(73-80),and build doors that didn't crack at the upper hinges, because in my opinion it was a pretty decent truck

The same interior of the Apache 10 is the same from 1960-63 models.

No the 60-61 was painted charcoal and grey as the 62 - 63 was Fawn. The vinyl seats were stamped different style over the years and the deluxe seat was different material as well.
