AGREED!!!… I know this will rub some people the wrong way but “timing” is a thing. Children did not ask to be here, your actions brought them here. When you don’t deal with your “stuff” it puts them a position they didn’t ask to be in nor do they deserve to be in. The hurt, pain, and frustration I have seen in kids over the years is heartbreaking, but we keep making the same decisions to have them without being prepared to truly care for them.

Too many parents want to be their children’s friend. We also expect our children to know things we didn’t teach them. Participation trophies belong on the ash heap of history.
My parents have a trauma with their parents and I have trauma with my parents. Not to mention relationships trauma. I don't want to continue this cycle with my child, because my trauma is not my child's fault nor their problem. This is a toxic disease/trait of hurt people hurt people has gone on for long when will it ever stop?
Then you should definitely allow your child to spend more time with his child then. Not to be condescending, but because if all you know is family trauma then it’s easy to pass on. Let the father do most of the heavy lifting with the child.

Why would you leave all of the heavy work to one parent only for them to be resentful to their partner for not sharing the responsibility? If a person is acknowledging that there's a problem that needs to be fixed and are willing to make changes not only for themselves, but for their child and their partner then why not support them instead of making a comment like this??? Make it make sense.
Facts! That's why I don't have kids. I'm 49. I was open to the OPTION to procreate, but, I've never met a man that made me want to stop using contraceptives 🤷♀️ I was dead against repeating the breaking cycle.

My mother's nuts too lol it isn't her fault. People aren't perfect. My early interactions with women sucked. I learned took my lumps and over time I improved. Too old to look at my parents for my issues
My mom is the greatest. But my dad abused her. Can’t really trust dudes because everyone loves him….but my mom and her sister. But my aunt’s husband loves him, one of his best friends. The dynamic is nuts, how do you trust after seeing that? Love my dad, don’t trust him or anyone like him. And he’s a chameleon, so he’s like everyone. I know exactly why I never got married and won’t. The switch up in him was so fast and unexpected at times. But he never put hands on anyone else, just her. They’ve been divorced for 30 years and only her. I’ll never understand it
I know this First hand. My ex husband was your dad . My dad also had this narcissistic tendencies. Don’t let that stop you from getting the true love God more than likely has for you
