Good morning, Simple Acre Homestead, I was wondering if these are black berries or red raspberries? Something I recently learned about blue berries and strawberries is, if you are growing fruit trees plant blue berries and strawberries around them. By doing this you are creating a food forest. The fruit trees makes the soil sour=acidic which is great for growing blueberries and strawberries. It is a way to naturally fertilize your plants. Less money and work.
This works as the same principle as Acidic & Alkalinity for our bodies. Certain foods makes our bodies either acidic or Alkaline.
    Acidic soil is sour,
Sweet soil is Alkaline. I remember hearing the old timers who farmed would call their soils Sweet or sour.
    Keep up the good work.
    Sending ❤️ 🙏

This was interesting. I have a lot of wild raspberries in my woods. With the price of raspberry plants, someone could save a lot of money. Please do an update video.

I sure will Jon, I have moved the black caps around without issue so I think this should go well. I find in this clay it seems like all you have to do is stick a cutting in the ground. I have also just stuck blackberry, grapes, and autumn olive cutting in the ground. 50 percent of the time they grow roots without issue. Since these had roots it should be a sure win.

@@simpleacrehomestead why autumn olive? It’s a noxious weed that is incredibly invasive, so much so that it is prohibited in canada

We use it for jam's and wine. It grows in the ditches and along the sides of the road in this area of Canada. Its Called a super food with Cancer and Cholesterol fighting properties.

Be careful! Raspberries are quite invasive

I noticed that with our other raspberries. I had to cut them back to the ground in the fall. They were just taking over.

@@simpleacrehomestead they can also be easily be spread as birds consume the berries and spread the seeds through their stool, so one raspberry plant can lead to its introduction in an entirely unrelated area
