      @@heelerridgefarm2366 Thanks so much! 😊 We often have odd shaped, buggy fruit too, but it was a pretty good year. Sorry to hear about your pears. Sounds like today's harvest was a good one. Our cauliflower never developed enough to harvest.

Cindy had given up on the video she was working on so I decided to make something out of it 😊. Yes that tree produces almost like a granny smith apple, it's is quite nice. We have a bunch of red apple trees but they were to young for a big harvest.

    Hiya Simple Acre Homestead, those are some great tips. Do they put the firewood in the feed bags? I'm going to share some of my tips with y'all. I boil my egg shells, then drain the water into an empty milk jug, write calcium tea on it for my garden. I then blend up the the egg shells to a fine powder and feed it to the chickens or you can put a seed in the egg shell and bury it and watch it grow, no need for seed trays. Keep up the good work! ❤️ 🙏

    Any advice on seed saving for onions, leeks, lettuce or cucumber?

    • @simpleacrehomestead
      @simpleacrehomestead Месяц назад

      For onions, I just let the seeds go dry on the plant before collecting, then you can just cut the tops right off and shake the seeds loose to make collection easier. I've never done leeks, but I would guess it's similar. For cucumber, just let it go over-ripe in the vine, until it's a deep yellow/orange, then cut it open, collect the seeds and leave them to dry really well (best in the sun) before storing them. 😊
