  • @Ben-gm9lo
    @Ben-gm9lo 11 месяцев назад +8

    Elliot, thanks for another lovely video. If I may though, perhaps I might offer something that is meant as constructive and positive. Please look up the definitions of the words 'electronic' and 'electrical'. You frequrently use electronic, when you mean electrical. A switch on a very basic car that operates the seat is electrical, it just connects a voltage to a motor. Similarly, a powered tailgate (another recent video of yours) operated by a button is the same, electrical. Electronic is only used when the subject matter involves computational ability, usually something silicon based. Maybe I might seerm pedantic, but your videos are subliminally educating your viewers and I believe you should strive to be accurate.

    I think the fully charged show is intentionally being lackluster on Chinese EV coverage. Pretty much all Chinese EVs they cover are almost 1 year behind their original release.... plus they are mostly cheaper ones which only shows a fraction of what they offer.
    For example, why don't you cover the new Zeekr 001 FR, which is a proper value super car that achieved 0-100km/h in 1.9 seconds, with 330+ top speed(limited to 280km/h by Chinese law, same thing for Model S plaid), that is a direct competitor to Tesla Model S Plaid? How about the new HyperSSR, Yangwang cars? How about the Denza cars that offers premium driving experience? What are you afraid of, losing your sponsorship from the legacy EU, JP & US Autos by covering too much goodies from "the other side"?

    Except, it isn't a £10,000 off roader.
    Reason one: You can't buy it in the UK
    Reason two: If you importuned one privately, you'll need to add about £4000 in import duty, £1000 in shipping, £1500 in getting an individual vehicle approval, making it at least a £16,500 off roader.
    Reason Three: It's 2 wheel dive. You got it down a farm track. A Citroen Ami could handle that farm track. You haven't done a real off road test, so you cant make the claim that it's an off roader. A Jimny is a real off roader, and I suspect about a million time less likely to get stuck than this thing.
    We must stop spreading misinformation about EVs
    And yet the fully charged show are the worst misinformation spreaders out there.
    I like EVs. I hate it when biased journalists give misinformation about them.
    It's like giving ammunition to those that don't like EVs
    Stop doing it. Tell the truth.

      I agree on the car capability bit for sure. When you do these reviews, you don't want an off-road n00b doing an offroader review, you want someone that's going to push the limits of the car. Like someone who uses a Jimny set up for overlanding.
      If they'd seen where I'd taken my Forester they would be shocked. A Jimny will be even more capable, and a slightly rutted track is not the proper test ground.

    The Yep with that small battery, is unusable as a replacement, even for that small LJ80.
    When they bring an EV like this Baojun Yep to the EU market, with 50kWh LFP battery, minimum range of 200mls + decent fast charging, below €25.000 its a sales hit.
    That 28kWh battery will never ever get 300km range. Maybe around 180km is more realistic. The weight, around 1000kg is low, so that will help the range a bit.
    To get 300km range an EV will realistically need a minimum of 40kWh battery.

    How about providing some of the most important specs, and less of your "feelings" about this EV? What kind of batteries and the size of the battery pack? What is the charging speed? Since it is a Wuling, what is the maximum speed of the EV, as the Mini can only do 50km/hr. I assume it does not have the ability for OTA updates. Does it have traction control or lane assist? And what are the safety ratings. Too many questions went unanswered.

    Its monocoque and FWD only so not even a SUV. But even then there are several "SUV"s in India and SEA that sell for as cheap or cheaper like the Suzuki S Presso, Renault Kwid etc.

  • @ZarlanTheGreen
    @ZarlanTheGreen 11 месяцев назад

    There is no such thing, as a small SUV, and there is practically no one, who actually genuinely has any practical use for one. Pretty much no one, has frequent need to go on very bumpy off road places. For about 99% of people, it is extremely oversized, overweight, impractical, and has significantly less cargo space than a station/estate car. May be great for a rare few people, but...

  • @MrHemlock51
    @MrHemlock51 11 месяцев назад

    Oh, come on! Budget G Wagon??? No!
    The G Wagon is one of the most capable off roaders in the world. This is a cheap and nasty micro city car with SUV styling and no more off road ability than any normal road car.
    That is not an off road course, it's a road that doesn't have tarmac on it.

    @omarghosn8655 9 месяцев назад

    Wow...can we say sponsored?! As an avid off-roader this piqued my interest until Elliot said "rear wheel drive" and "its shredding this road" that is a slightly bumpy hard packed road that a scooter could get across. He mentions a hill but clearly the "off road track" is in the middle of a flat field that a golf cart could navigate. What a sad review

      Real brakes, a serious wheel&tire package. Wrap it in a body like the next gen roadster but simpler&lighter with maybe 300 miles of range. V4 scer 10-80% charge in 10mins, ask $55-70k for it. Prob sell 100-150k in the us alone each year easy, 250-400k globally or maybe more.
      You could even make a top spec version with say carbon ceramics, different bumpers, active aero and tri motors, charging 100-125k and people would buy it who have fk U money instead of a ms plaid. At least 25k a year in sales potential plus the brand cache it would generate. 👍🏻😎
