The broncos have had since 2015 to build a team. They felt they were a QB away from being a great team. Russ comes and we see that the talent we thought we had wasn't what we thought it was.
Wrong, Payton wants a qb that listens and plays the plays that are called. Russ stats are as inflated as Carr's. People will look at the stats and say, "wow he did well, why cut him?" They don't see his misplays, his terrible throws, and stats when the game is out of hand.
How a couch potato can look inside the head of an elite athlete and say he doesn't care about his play is beyond me. Comments like these show how most fans perceive NFL players as cartoon characters, not living, breathing humans.

@@usopenitentiary Wilson's 2023 statistics are the same as 2013 Super Bowl stats without the "Legion of Boom"; Broncos offensive line is the weak link. Wilson's agent should contact Falcons. Aedin
I don’t know if I agree Russ was playing consistently great football. There were many games that offense put up less than 20 points, sometimes against bad teams. And besides the Dolphin game, I don’t see the evidence of a good offense/ bad defense. The Dolphin game is making stats look weird. You take out the 726 yards and 11 TDs and make it an avg loss and the Denver D is much closer top 20.
NFL is about MONEY!!! If an individual QB, in this case, Russ, or a team, in this case, the Broncos, it's about MONEY. Performance is not getting wins or revenue, and if Russ gets hurt, the organization doesn't want to pay Russ additional MONEY!!!! It's about MONEY!
I'm a die-hard Broncos fan, and while I think Russ is absolutely getting too much blame, his numbers are also definitely not showing the whole picture. Russ has moments. Like last week against the Patriots, he had 2 amazing drives to tie the game, but the rest of the game, he was not playing well, with seemingly zero pocket awareness, and poor decisions. Russ will give you a few great moments every game, but will never give you a full great game. The O-line for the Broncos has been pretty good this year too, with all 5 linemen not missing a game this year, and yet Russ still gets sacked a lot because he's holding on to the ball too long and trying to scramble instead of just stepping up in the pocket and letting it go. But even so, Russ does not have enough talent around him. Sutton has been his only reliable receiver this year with Patrick out again with injury. Jeudy has been mostly worthless, Mims has shown flashes, but also makes a lot of mistakes, and Dulcich is injured, leaving him with 2 JAG tight-ends. Javonte hasn't lived up to expectations coming off his injury, and Perine has been up and down. As for defense, it's also been up and down. The first 6 games, it was atrocious, then it shut down a lot of great teams for 5-6 games, and has fallen off again the past 2 games. I'd love to see Denver draft or go out and get some better receivers for Russ, and go get a great young pass rusher to shore up the defense a bit and see how Denver does, but that won't happen, since it's very clear Payton does not want Russ.
@@ernielopez81 He had 300 yards and 2 TD in the Dolphins game, what people do not say is those TDs and yards came when the Broncos were down 20+ points. The Dolphins were playing prevent the rest of the game, Russ stayed in for all 4 quarters. You look at the stats are say 2 TDs and 300 yards was a good day. When you watch a team get beat for 50 points no it wasn't.
Russell Wilson almost never executed the offense the way it was designed. Never threw the ball on time never made adjustments at the line of scrimmage. Russell Wilson never anticipated where the receivers would become open. This show often misses the mark. It’s not blaming Russ or saying he’s bad so he should be benched. He hasn’t been great, they don’t see him as the future, if they don’t bench and cut him they’ll owe him money they don’t want to pay to a guy they don’t believe. Simple.
The problem with comparing Super Bowl and 2023 Russell Wilson is the contracts. RW was playing on a third round rookie contract in 2013. He was taking up a fraction of the payroll and cap space that he is in Denver in 2023. RW was underpaid in 2013 and overpaid in 2023. Paying a QB 40 million dollars makes a Legion of Boom and a great running game virtually impossible🎉.
When Acho is saying Rus's stats are comparable to his Super Bowl year that's not a good thing in my opinion and I would also say they didn't sign him to get 2013 Rus because that wasn't even his peak/best year. I think it is more accurate to compare 2023 Rus to 2021 Rus since it's more recent you can get a better read of the situation and see where Rus truly is in his career. And I would say they signed him to get 2017-2020 Rus. As far as the blame goes I think he is getting too much but that's kind of the nature of the position and I also agree with James, I don 't think Sean wants Rus on the team anymore.
So we're acting like Russ is a good teammate now? This dude refused to read the room, and missed open receivers often. Good energy will keep you around longer than you should, but he never tried that. He always said "the right thing" and not being genuine. It's easy to make him the scapegoat from those actions.
Payton makes the second highly paid, almost hall of fame HC that’s moving on from Russ even though he’s a functional qb. Says LOUDLY that Russ’ play isn’t worth the cost (in bs and money). Seahawks fans been saying that Russ can’t see the middle of the field.
1:49 Herbert isn’t getting paid yet. He signed his contract early. He is still on his Rookie contract, just like Tua, Burrow, Hurts. Outside of re-signing bonuses, the money comes later. But that still isn’t Russ. $85M in 2 years is top-top. Expensive players always have a target on their backs. And expensive 35 year old players have a bigger target on their backs. Jackson, Allen, Herbert, Hurts, Burrow have their careers ahead of them.

Wrong, Payton wants a qb that listens and plays the plays that are called. Russ stats are as inflated as Carr's. People will look at the stats and say, "wow he did well, why cut him?" They don't see his misplays, his terrible throws, and stats when the game is out of hand.
@DogDongDotCom good luck with all that dead money. If hes lucky he gets jimmy g or baker
How a couch potato can look inside the head of an elite athlete and say he doesn't care about his play is beyond me. Comments like these show how most fans perceive NFL players as cartoon characters, not living, breathing humans.
Acho ate with that opening take.
When the eagles went on that 3 game losing streak joy didn't blame jalen she blamed everyone else for not putting him into position. Russ has no help
Russ is great and does not play defense 😂😂 Shaun p EGO looking for sgoat😂😂
Thank you for confirming what I have been commenting; Broncos' offensive line & defense had issues b-4 Wilson signed with Broncos, Wilson should've never signed with Broncos. Aedin
O line has been a top 10 unit all season…
@@usopenitentiary Wilson's 2023 statistics are the same as 2013 Super Bowl stats without the "Legion of Boom"; Broncos offensive line is the weak link. Wilson's agent should contact Falcons. Aedin
@@aedinquinn8687 o line has been top 10 all season. 13 of the 45 sacks that Russ has taken have been on the line
4 of Russell Wilson’s wins were by 3 points or less
It’s called a game winning drive….so…
A win is a win
I don’t know if I agree Russ was playing consistently great football. There were many games that offense put up less than 20 points, sometimes against bad teams. And besides the Dolphin game, I don’t see the evidence of a good offense/ bad defense.
The Dolphin game is making stats look weird. You take out the 726 yards and 11 TDs and make it an avg loss and the Denver D is much closer top 20.
I don’t duck Acho but this was a good point
Huh so quarterback is the most valuable now since Purdy losing the mvp race 😮
This is exactly what Mark Schlereth said on the Fan station in Denver. The crew here aren’t watching film and it shows.
Denver weapons are shaky simple as that. J.Williams is not the same from injury and wrs dont get seperation from they injuries too.
Russell Wilson almost never executed the offense the way it was designed. Never threw the ball on time never made adjustments at the line of scrimmage. Russell Wilson never anticipated where the receivers would become open. Go back and watch the same plays and formations when Drew Brees ran this offense before you make a horrible misleading video like this shame on you.
I agree with you. Russ doesn’t see receivers in the middle and has to scramble out of the pocket to see over the defense.
No Joy we say it's on the QB and Coach so I understand the position and why doesn't Sean Payton say his salary should be prorated or based on W/L!!?
How much Joy getting paid? Lol she might have to pay for drinks next time 😁🤣
Yeah, when you're salary is that big, your output needs to match the salary or your team is done for. So yes it's his fault.
I think Russ is done in Denver! Keep this in mind if they cut him after the season he will get 30 plus million; if he would to play and gets injured then he will recieve 85 million.
Sean payton went to 1 superbowl with an all time great quarterback lets not pretend he isbsome all time qreat coach. He set russ up as the fall guy from jump.
You just broke down why Russ isn’t an all time Qb🤫🤣
I never once said russ was an all time qb i just dont believe sean payton is some great guru i dont think russ is great either but eating all the money to turn to stidem is a sorry answer
@@jerrymaestas825 I never once quoted you, I just pointed out that never in Wilson’s career has his number came close to Brees’. It’s not even funny, Brees’ has 12 consecutive seasons over 4200 yards, Wilson career high is 4100. Russ isn’t the fall guy he just never was THE guy.
There’s no way we are going to gloss over how the Broncos defense was getting Russ n them in enemy territory and Russ couldn’t cash in over 65% of the time
Acho owed this segment
Super bowl russ wasn't making 30M a year. You have to play up to your contract. But the defense have been inconsistent the whole year.
does anyone ever really play up to their contract? i think they just over valued him
Well yeah, Patrick won another league MVP, super bowl MVP, and obviously he won the super bowl. He has definitely lived up to his recent contract. @@jacobhayes8324
Of course he wasn't making 30 mil a year, but he also wasn't throwing for 5K yards and 50 TDs either. You can't expect him to be Dan Marino when he's been Troy Aikman in terms of numbers
@@gerardbonner6464you can’t expect the same team success if he’s taking a lot larger portion of the salary cap and not upping his production
@@erres1995 then they should not have paid him and expected him to go from 30 to 50 TDs. He never showed that capability. He's a top tier game manager that requires weapons and a consistent defense, moreso than other QBs
PLEASE GET RID OF JOY! IRRITATING
Acho’s stats forgot one major thing: salary.
2013 Salary was $525,000.
2023 Salary was $28,000,000. Guaranteed to be $39,000,000 next year.
Russ’s performance doesn’t warrant a $20+ million salary.
I always fast forward to Shady. Acho and Joy are too much for me.
Scapegoat oh yeah
These are the same people who wanted him benched for the EXACT same reason he’s being benched now when they were 1-5. Such hypocrisy
They traded two of their best defensive players - it’s not on Russ
Russell also don't have elite players on that offense. The Broncos was awful when Russell came there. Russell picked a BAD TEAM to go to!!!!!🤨 Payton has a big EGO , and using Russell as the SCAPEGOAT, for some of his mistake out on the field. I agreed with Acho 100% Well Said my brother!!!👍
Dude wasn’t the bronco just on like a 5 or 6 game win streak 😂😂😂
When I watch the broncos this season there weren’t many points and it feels as if they need more points, it’s like telling a skinny kid to get some meat on there bones and that’s been the broncos problem for years
It all went downhill once Acho finished
Everyone saying Russ is not the problem wouldn't take him for their team. He has been the problem continuing to go 3 and out. It affects the defense.
I seriously cannot stand when Acho goes on with the same example but swaps out a person. Him saying it 20x with different names is so effing annoying
Joy missed the point when he acho used all the QBs as an example.
This show often misses the mark. It’s not blaming Russ or saying he’s bad so he should be benched. He hasn’t been great, they don’t see him as the future, if they don’t bench and cut him they’ll owe him money they don’t want to pay to a guy they don’t believe. Simple.
If the Broncos had Joe Flacco instead of Russell Wilson they would be a wild card team and have a lot of money to get players
james jones is on point this benching is fruit from a poisonous tree
Not one of these so called experts have watched any games this year. If you watch the offensive in- consistency, it's horrible.
This guy was saying russel should have been benched weeks ago and he was washed now hes acting likes hes been his biggest supporter
They’re asking if Russ is taking too much heat and defending him but they slander other QB’s in even worse situations; example: Herbert.
Acho on 🔥
Acho was spitting
Joy is talking to much. Russ is not the blame. Terrible line, bad calls
I really think Pete Carroll feels bad for Russ. They may have parted ways on a bad term, but Carroll cares about players-unlike this Sean Payton
26 and 8 stats isn’t noteworthy to be sign if he was on a different team. If he didn’t have that gigantic contract he would be a starter next year
Remember this when you have segments about Lebron Joy because you definitely Switch up
Joy is reaching like always. It's simple. He's playing well and this is a business decision.
Joy hasn't made sense in years. And this take was particularly bad.
Russ will go to the giants
Broncos catfished the entire world saying they were one qb away. A bunch of JAGS on that team before Russ came in
acho had the perfect take killer take he nailed it. I just don't agree with joy's philosophy that its just the way it is and we have to just accept it and not call it out cause russ wanted to be paid well
