    The Steelers blue collar culture of going 8-8 and getting eliminated in the first round has sort of gotten tiring, they need a new thought process, new guys picking draft selections, they need new blood, its not a dig at Coach Tomlin, he's been solid for that franchise more than any other coach has at times so hey. They gotta make big changes behind the scenes.

      I don’t see what Tomlin is special at. Bills main thing is he takes away your main guy and forces you to look for your second and third option. Pete Carrol is great with young talent in the league. Tomlin is a H.O.F. Coach but I just don’t know what area other than being a leader of men he is good at

  • @Rattlehead415
    @Rattlehead415 11 месяцев назад +13

    They're speaking about Tomlin as if he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. He's been amazing for the Steelers but RIGHT NOW he's failing. His staff is failing, the offense is failing, they can't score, they can't scheme, they can't move the ball. These are all things that have been happening since that fake 11-0 season where they got blown out by the Browns and Baker Mayfield. He was great but he's been struggling for a few years now and Acho has merit in saying Tomlin isn't top 5 right now which offends the entire table lol. Joy and James bring up what Tomlin has accomplished like that has any bearing on these past few seasons. Bill Belichick is the most successful coach ever, has the most everything as it pertains to winning and achievements and yet NE wants him out, all of sports media wants him out... but he's the winningest coach in football period. I say all that to say WHAT YOU'VE DONE IN THE PAST DOESN'T MATTER WHEN LOSING AND BEING BAD IS NOW THE TREND WITH NO UPSIDE IN SIGHT.

However, not only haven’t they won a playoff game in seven years but they’re 3-6 in the playoffs since their last SB appearance. I don’t think the Steelers should just accept not having a losing season so I mean see how the season finishes out but if they’re out of the playoffs or make it but don’t win a game I don’t see why he should stay. I’ll be fair too, I feel if Harbaugh makes it to the playoffs but they don’t win a playoff game or get past the divisional round, I’d be fine with moving on from him too.

    They also forget when Tomlin had the three Bs and the defense was the weak side of the ball for 4-5 straight years. And as a Pittsburgh fan the whole no losing season thing is over blown. They were barely over 500 so pretty much celebrating 500 seasons is the standard in Pitt now. Tomlin also had LeBeau on his Superbowl run who had built that defense. Now for these explayers acting like it's crazy to even question Tomlins security as head coach would they have been happy to have never had a losing season their whole career even if they were 1 game over 500. I'm sure it would've worn on them

    • @supercrash804

      I said this already, but people always say Tomlin is a defensive head coach when most defensive head coaches are special at something. Every year even when the team was bad Bill always knew how to take away main targets on the team. Even with young guys he will neutralize your #1 target. Vrabel does the same and forces you to beat them from the trenches. Pete Carroll brought pressure forcing you to get the ball out fast. With Tomlin his playmakers made up for the lack in defense. His safeties are always getting burnt over the top besides Minkah. Out side of TJ Watt and Heyward they struggle to get pressure on the other side. Yes Pittsburgh does need better players on the team, but I just don’t see anything special with their defense.

    When you have as much success as the Steelers under Tomlin you don't get premium draft picks and that eventually catches up with you. I am a believer that Tomlin can keep a great team great until the players start leaving like early in his Steeler reign. He can keep an average team average. He can bring a bad team up to average. But he can't elevate an average team to great. And remaining average means you never get those top draft picks that can make a difference. Remember that the great Steelers of the 70's started by being the worst in the leagure two years in a row and they drafted Joe Green and Terry Bradshaw. Tomlin and the Steelers BOTH need a change of scenery.

    There’s no question that Mike Tomlin is a good coach but I do believe his time is coming to an end in Pittsburgh. The fact that year after year they have multiple games where they play down to competition and get embarrassed by mediocre teams, that falls back on coaching. The offense has not been good and has been ranked at the bottom of the league 4 out of the last 5 years. Yes Matt Canada was calling bad plays but Tomlin allowed it for 3 years. Terrible draft selections which i’m sure Tomlin has input with as well. Yes he has never had a losing season in 17 years but at the same time he has never had a losing season which means this team is never going to have a high draft pick. We all can ooo and ahh at never having a losing season for that long but going .500 year after year is not acceptable. Realistically this team hasn’t been good since 2017 so I think they should go a different direction.

    They keep saying 17 seasons without a losing season but if you were a player on that team and you finished 500 you would consider that a losing season in fact, every year we didn’t make the playoffs. I would consider that a losing season now technically no he hasn’t had a losing season but as a player, he 100% has had losing seasons.
    For some reason they have a huge bias for Tomlin, wonder why? 🤔
    They already saying Belichick is on the hot seat & he’s the goat!
    Their intellectual dishonesty not only cheapens their argument but it cheapens them as “journalists”

      They say Tomlins resume speaks for itself because he never had a losing season and won a Super Bowl in his tenure. Bill won 4 years ago and is about to get ran after this season. For one reason being the coaches he has hired. Funny enough the main thing people talk about Pittsburgh is their coordinators who Tomlin hired or elevated from the organization. Yes they win 9-8 games and make the playoffs, but they haven’t been a real contender since those Troy Polomalu and James Harrison days

    i agree tomlin shouldn't be on hot seat. however these guys are being very hypocritical arguing that while saying belechick stinks now and should be fired. the double standard they're using is crazy. They've both lost their HOF QBs, both have bad to unplayable QBs currently, and both are leading good to great defenses. but its "tom brady made bill belichick" , compared to "no tomlin slander!" Crazy

    Didn't Y'all just say yesterday "It's a what have you done for me lately, league."? Mike Tomlin has earned a pass, because of the QB position? What about Bill Belichick? Does he get a pass? I think not. Who has accomplished more? Tomlin 17 winning seasons, Belichick 23. Hot on his heals, John Harbaugh 15, Pete Carroll 13, Andy Reed 10. As a Dolphins fan, I don't know why I care.

    He's not a X's and O's coach. He's a motivator. That's what they said and that's the biggest problem with Tomlin. Coaches are running advanced schemes and Tomlin is stuck in the past. They won't win anything as long as he's there. Horrible roster management as well. The worst LT and C in the NFL start for the Steelers and probably the worst QB2 is on the roster.

    Tomlin has kept this team winning no matter what hand he is dealt. Yes, he did move too slow getting a good backup for Roethlisberger. But If Tomlin leaves, will the Steelers get better or worse? Worse... Defense, skilled position drafting, development, playing until the last whistle. It all goes away. All we need is a quarterback and a good offensive coordinator. Tomlin has held it down for 17years.
