  • "Daisy Berkowitz" of Marilyn Manson in conversation on the early days of the band, his part as lead songwriter, the alternative metal scene of the early nineties, Manson's rise to fame and the group's relationship with Trent Reznor.
    Scott Mitchell Putesky, more famously known as Daisy Berkowitz, is an American musician, and was the lead guitarist and co-founder of the heavy metal group Marilyn Manson. Putesky and Brian Warner met at a Fort Lauderdale club called The Reunion Room and later at a local after-party in December 1989. The two created the concept of Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids poking fun at American media hypocrisy and its obsessions with serial killers and beautiful women.
    Putesky, who had at this point developed his own poetry but not yet worked lyrics into his music, began to meet up with Warner and brainstorm character and show/event ideas, after Warner asked for help starting a band as a creative outlet for his poetry writing. Putesky played guitar, bass and keys, programmed a Yamaha RX-8 drum machine, and taught Warner about vocal performance, recording and arranging. Input from both parties gave the band its darkly psychedelic style, and as early as January 1990, they began to record songs like "Red (in My) Head", "White Knuckles", "Cake and Sodomy" and "Dogma" on Putesky's 4-track.

      Dr Wolfenstein nah Antichrist was more Trent Reznor than anything. The only song that stood out on that album was “Wormboy” because Daisy wrote that song before leaving the band.

    Scott Mitchell Putesky, conocido como Daisy Berkowitz (East Orange, Nueva Jersey; 28 de abril de 1968[1]-Los Ángeles, California; 22 de octubre de 2017),[2] fue un músico estadounidense. Fue el guitarrista principal y cofundador de la banda de metal industrial Marilyn Manson. Eligió su apodo inspirado en Daisy Duke, personaje de la serie televisiva Los Dukes de Hazzard interpretado por Catherine Bach, y en David Berkowitz, psicópata conocido también por el sobrenombre de «Hijo de Sam».

    Basically what I gathered from watching all 16 parts (which is a great interview), is that manson is a politically driven noob who brown nosed with trent reznor and left poor berkowitz hangin to dry. Seriously, they rejected his ideas, and then put stupid songs like fuck frankie and almost all those smell like children atrocities of music on a high pedestal?! Manson wouldn't be anywhere near where he is with putesky, so he owes his life to putesky as far as I am concerned!

    • @adamaneve22
      @adamaneve22 7 лет назад +3

      isaac thrash Lol 😂 If that were true then Manson wouldn't stop be around? Granted, I love Scott and Manson is not innocent. Scott didn't want to change the bands sound and image, so he was booted. Gladly he was because then we would have all the Manson albums we have now.

    You can tell there is some bad blood still between him and Manson, the way he is dismissive of "Brian" and the band, but he realizes that if it wasn't for Manson's success, he would not be interviewed and he would have just been Scott P.

  • @RebeccaO619
    @RebeccaO619 12 лет назад +8

    Overall this interview was pretty irritating. It seems like Scott isn't being completely honest with the details or events that conspired (comparing his interview to other x band members) either that or he was completely clueless or wasn't privy to what was conspiring. It's too apparent that he's trying to choose his words too carefully. While respectful, makes for an overall terrible interview with constantly fidgeting, pausing and premeditated answers.

      Elizabeth Rubino they kind of forced him to quit. It was apparently mostly trent reznor tho. He encouraged them to abuse him and made them dislike him.
