It was picture perfect here! I do believe that it can vary by conditions just about anywhere in Cancun but definitely beautiful when clear. Enjoy your trip!
Yes! From there you would have access to everything except for the Hideaway which is adults only and the Diamond Club section which is the preferred lounge. Enjoy!
Ours was a bit more than that and we also paid in points. Usually if you indicate two guests in the booking then it should be the total price for both, rather than listing the per person cost!
@@Under-Fear Great question! No, you would have to actually book the Hideaway to have access to their pools, bars, and restaurant. We typically find that the prices for Hideaway and Royalton are similar so, if you are not coming with kids, we would recommend booking at Hideaway to have access to more!
We were there in December! That was actually just one of the pools though that sits in the shade a majority of the day. Otherwise everything was a comfortable temperature and it was definitely warm out!
Hi guys, great video. We are going in June. You mentioned that since it's a Marriot hotel that they automatically upgraded you to a diamond member, did you have to book it on your Marriott Card, or just being a member gave you the upgrades?
Thank you for the support! We were actually upgraded because our membership with Marriott is platinum so you do have to have a bit higher status. If you do, you can just book direct on Marriott with your account attached to the reservation!
Hey Jennifer! The beach would get a bit more crowded in the afternoon but during the morning / early-evening when we were there were the quiet times. There was definitely seaweed which they were actively trying to cleanup but it was always present for sure. If you are in it to enjoy being by the beach, the seaweed wasn't super visible and the water was a nice blue so it was great. Getting in and out of the water a lot was probably where the most impact was.
I'm traveling in June and have been told that there are some issues with bed bugs snd theft....not sure if the reviews are just guess that we're unhappy or if it's true. Please advise as I am having my wedding here and have 60 people coming with.
That will be such a nice wedding! We did not see or hear any of those issues. Honestly, we have seen that you can find those reviews for any hotel and they are generally just people who are frustrated. I think you all will have an amazing experience!
Yes, it's a really small part. One restaurant (out of 9?), one pool, and one part of the beach. I wouldn't say that they enforce it super strictly but that is how it is setup. I don't know that we would pay cash for diamond club and we still think the resort is worth it without!
The ocean was still nice! For as much seaweed that seems to wash ashore, it doesn't seem like a ton in the water. The water is very blue about 20 feet out or so from shore!
my boyfriend and i are heading to the royalton on the 22nd of this month. we booked the regular resort. just wondering, can you access the hideaway and/or diamond club pools if you’re not staying in that section?
Hmm that's tough to say. It is all open and connected so you will definitely be able to get to them. There are different colored wristbands for each but I'm not sure how much they really enforce them. It's possible a bartender at one of the pools may acknowledge if you don't have access to an area but there don't seem to be people walking around and checking. We definitely don't think you would be able to access the restaurants at those specific areas as they do require a room number. Hope you all have a wonderful time!
Hi! I have a trip there in May for a wedding. I’m expecting and I’m terrified of Zika.. how were the mosquitoes? I called and they did say they fumigate but I just want to be sure
Hello, were going here at the end of the month, when tipping etc, how often did you tip and how much? Also, did you think the service dipped/increased when you didnt tip/tip?
We tipped every bartender / wait staff we interacted with but not necessarily every time we ordered something. If we sat somewhere we would usually just tip the first time even if we ordered a couple more later. Usually tipped $1-$2 to bartenders and $5 for wait staff at the main restaurants. We never noticed any different level of service either way and the staff were amazing the entire time, regardless!
Do you know if the Diamond Club is an automatic upgrade for Marriott Bonvoy members? I'm a Titanium and is thinking about taking the family there in May. I don't see anything about it online. Thanks!
I don't know if it is automatically applied but we did not ask for it or anything. We are actually just Marriott Platinum so I am thinking you should have a good chance! Enjoy!
Hi, I am staying at the hideaway this May. Do you know if you can use the facilities in the diamond club too? Or am I only able to use the hideaway facilities and main facilities ?
Hey Richard! That is correct, a hideaway reservation does not include the diamond club and those are only accessible through a diamond club upgrade. We personally think the hideaway offers enough perks itself that the diamond club is not needed, but if you do want some of those particular features, it's not a bad deal. Enjoy!
Thank you! If we had to pick one or the other, we would say Diamond Club over the Hideaway. More explanation below! Both have their own private area of the hotel, beach, pool, and a separate restaurant, each of which is exclusive to their guests. The Diamond Club area of the beach is better as it includes the beach butlers. The Hideaway Pool is better as it is bigger, less crowded, and no children. The restaurants are pretty on par with each other. What we think gives the Diamond Club the edge is that it also includes the room butler service to assist with reservations (and other help), expanded in-room bar, and free daily access to the hydrotherapy treatment at the spa - be sure to book that in advance as soon as you arrive though as it fills up! All of that said, I think the Diamond Club is generally going to be a higher rate than just selecting a room in the Hideaway section. Enjoy your stay!
Unfortunately not! We asked at many of the bars/restaurants because Rebecca was really hoping for one but no luck. We always wonder why it's not more prevalent in all-inclusive locations!
Hello! Travelling here with my family, what’s the average tip? Do you tip everyone? Is it dollars or peso ? And can you upgrade to diamond when you get to the resort? Thankss
Hey there, great questions! We did try to tip all of the bartenders and waiters we interacted with but not necessarily every time we ordered. Typically we would tip a dollar or two to bartenders and three to five for waiters. Honestly, we think it was a mix... some folks did not tip at all and I am sure there were others who left more than us but we felt as though we were on par with average. Dollars and pesos were both accepted! Yes, it does seem like you can make upgrades upon arrival to the Diamond Club or otherwise and we saw some couples doing so during check in. Of course, subject to availability, but it is a pretty big resort so I would guess they are seldom at capacity for those things. Have a great time!
Great video ❤️
Great video
Job well done
We are heading there nov 1st 2023 very exciting
Love this, thanks for sharing. We go to the royalton Cancun on Wednesday for 2 weeks! 🎉
Amazing, you're going to love it!
Great info and vide0!! is the beach turquoise or more on the brown side?

Enjoy your trip!
Love the video quality!!! Great editing
Great video. Question, are you allowed to visit the splash park if you stay in the main RRC?
Yes! From there you would have access to everything except for the Hideaway which is adults only and the Diamond Club section which is the preferred lounge. Enjoy!
Is it $75 dollars pero person per night ? So it if was 2 adults it would be a total of 150 dollars per night for both of us correct?
Ours was a bit more than that and we also paid in points. Usually if you indicate two guests in the booking then it should be the total price for both, rather than listing the per person cost!

So if you are not diamond club, you can't use parts of the hotel?

Did you book this through Bonvoy?
Yes, we used Marriott points to book directly with the hotel through the Bonvoy program!
