this looks like a good alternative to the DDJ-SR2 even includes most of the features, even sound color FX , very impressive, just found about this controller yesterday night. pretty dang sweet!
Hey dude! Just would like to know...... has the Primo controller given you any issues since this video?....if so, is it easy to solve? I'm considering buying this one as an affordable mid-entry player. Or should I not waste my time and just invest more in the premium stuff? i.e. Pioneer, Rane, Denon.
@@atypical_blk_guy nah, i still haven't upgraded yet. been doing alot of gigs through another dj where we just rent the equipment. Been getting familiar with pioneer controllers and rekordbox, because it's great to analyse your songs and you can use it as standalone.
1. How is the sound compared to the Roland Dj-505 ? 2.Perfomance pad responsiveness compared to the 505? asking for these comparisons cuz i am planning on choosing one of these two.. Thanx
I don't own a Roland Dj-505 so I can't compare it to that controller. All I can say is that the sound board on this controller is by far the best out of Pioneer, Denon & Vestax. The pad are on point no lagging time at all. I'm not a sales man for this product, I just wanted to get another controller that is compact and light and powerful.
Ok everyone I up dated the firmware and the PRIMO is just fire.....jogwheel playhead indicator are now working and the pitch too. I made a house mix for my MixCloud show with this controller click on the link and enjoy my so good House Music friends. www.mixcloud.com/marquezantonio/house-expression-34-with-marquez-antonio/
Hi there, how are the pots ? i bought a mixars Uno dj mixer and i´m really disapointed with that , they are in plastic and too loose, they are not really good quality.
What do you think about the poor pitch resolution. It does not respond well with SDJ Pro. Making tiny adjustments on the pitch slider doesn’t move the bpm percentage on the software it skips bpm percentage. I will be sending mine back if they don’t fix that. Great buy but they really missed their mark esp since it’s supposed to act as a 100mm pitch fader.
Marquez Antonio a Mac w/Sierra. It def doesn’t happen on my SR2. Will you plz take a video clip of you using the pitch slider and it’s response w/the software. You’ll notice it skips pitch speeds. Unless you got very lucky cause others are having the same issue.
They said the pitch resolution will be fixed in a firmware update. Move the slider back n forth and watch your bpm changes in Serato. It will skip pitch speeds. It’s a software fix. Here’s the reply i got “Ciao Steven. Thanks for contating us and purchasing Primo. The pitch resolution will be addressed with a firmware update and probably the next Serato patch such as other minor adjustments. Also the LED ring function will be finally implemented in the next Serato patch. We remain at your disposal and wish you a great day! Your Mixars Team www.mixars.com”
Thanks for the great review! Did you have the chance to try the stand-alone mixer mode with regular vinyls? Would be very interested to have you opinion on sound quality and gain level when switching from a digital file to a vinyl. I was indeed interested by the Pioneer sr2 also to play with 2 turntables regular vinyls but heard that the sound quality was not great, because of poor quality of its integrated phono amp... Thank you 100x man
Yes I love it, it is by far the best midi controller out in the market and I update the firmware so now it has jog wheel is on point with the touch cue point.
@@marquezantonio7975 any new updates? Buying it as for this price it offers phono inputs for my 1210s (might also use DVS at some point) as my old mixer is dying. What is the sound quality when working with vinyls?
@@marquezantonio7975 Why make such a dumb statement? Have you ever used a professional midi controller and do you know how much they cost? The primo marks the top product for the semi pro entry class...nothing more. Its an awesome product, no question, but best controller?
@@Presbiter Sorry to dig up the comment but this needs clarification. You say that the primo is nothing but a basic mid-range controller.. But I doubt that you can find better for 300€ NEW in Europe (musicstore).. I have tried a lot of controllers. Ddj rev 7 ddj 800 ddj1000 Rane one etc etc ... All are excellent but the specifications of the primo have nothing enviable to other professional controller 5/6 times more expensive it's completely crazy ... I I installed a mini innofader (plug and play with this controller), no need for the faders which are very good.. concerning the other controllers on the market, apart from the screens on the jog wheels (my Mac screen does the job) and the feel of 7 inch vinyl (in DVS mode my MkIIs with butter mats are much better).. for me it's an ideal controller to go to work without getting in the way and just as good in DVS use.. + It has a lot of pro level inputs/outputs. this is my personal opinion
Amigo k tal es ese controlador sus botones play y cue son de silicona como los de las denon antiguas k tal es su calidad y prestaciones comparado con los pioneer
Agreed! I have the Primo as well. It sounds so much better than my SR2. Here’s a lil secret it’s been rumored a jogwheel playhead indicator will surface in a firmware update for the Primo. It is def a great buy. Curious does left pitch control at the middle point seem more loose and not lock as well compared to the right side? My right side clicks and is a bit louder and stays locked in place. I feel my left side is smooth and almost doesn’t lock in the middle like my right does. Just wondering🤔 great review!
You might have a defect on the controller send it back and get a different one. I have no problems with my controller. I also have the Denon MC7000 and the sound card isn't as loud as the PRIMO.
😂 True, I've tried to venture off pioneer, but I returned to pioneer. Other brands(denon, Roland, numark) definitely let me down. I didn't try mixars but I have heard things. So I'm sticking with what has been reliable: Pioneer.

adding this controller to an interest. this looks pretty solid! the price is right too!
Good controller made in Italy ❤️
this controller is fire. Can't wait to upgrade.
just up grade the PRIMO and it is solid fire!!!!
Just ordered with overnight shipping can't wait to play with it tomorrow.
I'm in the market for a controller and this pretty little thing pops up. Looks a lot like my old reloop terminal mix 2 but a bit bigger.
Hola!!!! Cómo va esa controladora? La he visto muy bien de precio y se me antoja. Me puedes dar tu opinión? Gracias!!!

What about the peak meters on the bottom, not working?
What about the peak level on the bottom. Does it work too. Seems to be not working. Is that a faulty issue. Please reply
@@TheDJCandyman1 Did you update the firmware?
@@TheDJCandyman1 think it’s because he’s using the booth output not the master. Cause his master vol is all the way down.
