What a lovely wrap-up video as the final chapter of your masterfully-shot vlogs in Türkiye. Welcome back again anytime in the future. Happy Holidays and a successful New Year!
Thank you for such kind words Önen 🙂 we look forward to the day we return to Türkiye again in the future. Am certain we'll revisit one day to see more of your amazing homeland!
I have watched a lot of Turkey travel blogs but Your entire trip was THE BEST Turkey travel series on the internet! I have learned so much more with you guys here. Your love for history made it incredible to watch all episodes. Wish you also visited Mardin. Saving all your videos to use as my guide for planning to visit Turkey. And you both are true Kiwis… humble, respectful, down to earth & relatable. Totally would love to meet you guys in real life… lots of respect & love to you both. Thank you again & will def miss watching new Turkey videos from this channel.
Thank you for the kind words that is so nice of you 🫶 this trip around turkey was truly unforgettable, Yen and I were able to experience so much and eat so much good food hahaha. Looking forward to coming back sometime in the future to explore the east side. We saved a bunch of cool stuff there to visit in the future. Take care and all the best with your own travel plans 😊 👍
So I pretty much watched all of your videos about Turkey. It was sooo helpful. I'm travelling on June for 10 days so it's hard to choose the best places to go! After watching your videos I'll definetly go again to those small places far away from the big cities. Such a beautiful country, can't wait to see it in person. Thank you for the videos!
I really appreciate your effort! You traveled for 3 months, tried to look on the bright side and you reflect this in your videos. I've been living in Eskişehir for 16 years (I'm Turkish😅) and I have visited many cities in Türkiye. I mean, I couldn't have imagined someone from New Zealand would make such beautiful and candid, sincire videos. Thank you and you will always be welcomed💜
So well done with video all included and the perfect rate of speech and volume . Sorry I had wanted to be a linguist lol 😝 Can you do videos on the 3 areas you should briefly in part something for everyone please 🙏
Thank you for the kind words 😁👍 we only stayed in Besiktas and Kadikoy and both areas were excellent. Besiktas was more convenient but Kadikoy had a nice local feel to it and it was nice to cross the ferry to get around.
Very useful!! 😎👍 Great help!! Bye Turkey 🇹🇷 Hello New Zealand 🇳🇿!! Thanks Peter & Yen for a great Turkish adventures!! Looking forward to your NZ adventures!! 😎🇹🇷🇳🇿✨
Thanks Nikki! We're actually shooting our final video for the year today back in Auckland but we'll do a bunch more early next year before we head back overseas again 🙂 thank you for following along all our Turkey adventures each week!
Time to catchup once again and here in 2023 already! Yeah this type video is extremely helpful and will help so many people! As you mentioned in previous comment replies was surprised about the good public transport, good information also to help people! Let me digress for a second, I watch Simon Reeve's travels to Turkey a few days ago, one rare community in the hills there, use the ancient way of whistling to communicate! I thought that's why you would have done Peter to woo Yen when you first met! Haha! Seeing you on the boat ride and other transport there is so good! Yeah great advice and yeah all seeing the dogs and cats around and that would be fun, love those guys! Yeah seriously loved your videos from Turkey and yes you did have some many videos and wow can't wait to see what you will be doing now in 2023 as I type this! Great job and always cheers for sharing!
You guys stayed in Kadikoy on your last days there! Awesome! Infrastructure is fantastic at any transportation level. Highways, public transportation, and intercity buses, it is just incredible. And of course dolmus! Thank you for mentioning the secular part of Turkiye! Animals are so loved for the most part in the country. And yes, they are super lovely as well. Yen, you got really good at learning Turkish, and your pronunciation is awesome! Look at you eating Midye Dolma!!
Thank you! I really enjoyed learning Turkish. Hahaha and thank you again for introducing us to midye dolma 😁 we had them in our Kaş video too if you get around to watching that eventually. Sooo good there 🤤
I hv watched all your journey video in Turkiye. Really appreciate for both of you, the efforts in planning for shooting the video, the editing and publishing it in youtube. I hv been travelled and i know how it feel after few weeks (homesick n fatigue for planning the shooting) but both of you keep motivated n consistent in doing that. Keep doing the video on your next travel. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hello Thank you for the lovely message 😊 ✌️it does take a lot of effort to put these together but it's also a lot of fun too. We Def do get a little homesick too but it's nice that we can return at the end of the year for summer ☀️
Thank you so much Daryl ☺️❤️🙌 can't believe we made 29 videos from Turkey 😃 definitely gonna enjoy watching them in the future and looking back on the amazing places we visited 🙂 Hope you've had a great start to your week!
Hey Guys, A great end to the amazing series of videos of you guys in Turkey. I never thought of going back there but now it’s on our list, especially the non-tourist priced places. Looking forward to see where you are off to next.
Thanks Anthony 😁✌️ back in New Zealand for Xmas but next year we've got some big plans for travel. Couple of more detailed updates coming in this Sundays video
Not sure if I was so tired last night I imagined writing a thank you comment for your Turkey series or if it ended up in the dark abyss of held comments that Yen taught me about... if it's not there, let me know...Definitely wanted to say a big thanks to you guys for all the work you put in to bring us Turkey...:)
Wasn't in the dark abyss of held comments but thank you for coming back to comment again ☺️🙏 Turkey was awesome and we look forward to visiting again one day! Hope you're having a blast in Japan!
@@PeterandYen Haha I must have wrote it and then closed the browser without pressing send... just was a short message to say thanks for taking all the countless hours to make the amazing Turkey series! I'm sure it was a lot of sacrifice to film in the middle of all experiencing all you guys did... Was cool to see all the food and the sights and the food and the landscapes and the food and the history and chubby dogs and yes...the food... Was very awesome to see you guys get to do so much from your bucket list...and see the excitement from Peter seeing the sea turtles and Yen being able to the do the photo shoot... thank you guys and look forward to your next adventure...
Thanks mate, it was no trouble at all making these videos. Since we stay in places for longer it gives us time to enjoy and soak everything in plus make the videos for RUclips. Guess that's why we feel super rushed when we go on the group tours. Man... missing all the food. Think about a good Pide all the time! The perfect snack 🤤 people have been asking us what our favorite moment was in turkey n yea turtles 🐢 😁💪
Hi Peter and Yen, I have tried to find the place where we can see the wildflower scenery in North Island ,NZ on your channel. I still can not find any. Could you recommend me to check it out? Thanks
We had heard about it from other vlogger friends who have visited Turkey before but seeing them in person and how cute and friendly the cats are in particular was really cool 🙂
Thank you for these really useful tips about traveling around Türkiye - in contrast to the usual „beware of the shoe-shining scam“ type advice given by people who after spending a few days in Istanbul feel entitled to give!
There are a couple of those around ay? 😅 common "scams" can be found in any major cosmopolitan/metropolitan.. we try to give more helpful tips for travelers whenever we can 🤞 We had an amazing time in Turkey and look forward to returning one day 😁🙌
We use Wise for everywhere we go, it's just so easy to use! Buying a coffee after landing in Melbourne airport and the money came straight out of my AUD account. Another great video guys 😊
Hello we normally stay overseas around 6 months a year but sometimes we can spend up to 3 months in one country cause we enjoy it a lot. Then head back to NZ our home for summer 😁
Three months of adventure with minimum noodles, respect 🫡 to both! (2) Forex, as a banker (so to be retired) damn, am being working in the wrong 😑 division. Assume there’s little E-wallet payment mode; (3) Vet, it is good to know that some of these super smart ppl have so much compassion (unlike bankers, me, myself and I 🫣) Thanks again for another good consolation and have a great week ahead both 😊
Good morning, you’re right we are financial cousins. Been in corporate finance since 1992, running numbers on capital structures, it was fun when Malaysia’s GDP was above 5% 😅. Look forward to your next vlog 😃
@@PeterandYen Looking forward for this Sunday 😄 and takes a lot of patience and creativity, what both Yen and yourself do. I refer to this book, "Corporate Finance For Dummies", am fortunate, in Malaysia financial literacy is not high and Board Members are happy with simple things 😅
Merhaba for sharing these tips. I am travelling with my fam in April and will be living in Sultanahmet. Can you please suggest where should we go for cheap daily meals? We are 6 members and don’t want to blow up the budget on food.
Within Sultanahmet and near all the famous attractions food is more expensive for sure.. we were staying in Beşiktaş which was a much more residential area and food there was very cheap but you're gonna have to go out of your way to get there if you want those local prices.
Hi. We are planning a trip to Turkiye in August 2025. We're a couple in our 50s from Whangarei. We want to rent a car from Istanbul and do a circuit. Would you recommend booking hotels before we go, or is it easy enough to book as we go? Thanks Sue & Tim
Hi Sue and Tim sounds like you're going on a fun adventure! We typically book 1 month in advance to get the best value accommodations but if you're doing a more spontaneous trip I can understand that might not work. As long as you aren't strict with your budget or going in peak times I think you should be fine as there is always something available. Also maybe try and get your rental car picked up on the outskirts of Istanbul city as it can be quite chaotic in the center. Hope you have a great time. Turkiye 🇹🇷 is really an amazing place.
I visited turkey with my girlfriend in 2021. In our 3rd day we were walking near Bosphorus and I we started to kiss each other. It was 2 or 3 seconds. Unfortunately some guys saw us and started to yell at us and throw us a bottle of water . It was a really surreal experience. We also met with many good people but that incident made us dislike this country.

Yen n I both enjoy traveling in one country for a longer period of time. It allows you to really get immersed in the place 😊
Good work guys.
Thank you 😊

Thank you for your video… do you feel like it safe to use credit cards in Turkey or just have their currency while traveling?
We prefer using cash in case there are any issues with credit card fraud, which is in every country.
So cute the way you say 'Istanbul" Is that the way New Zealanders say it or just You ?
👍
Would you please recommend a place to stay in Istanbul? Hotel
