Haha the dumbbell trick. I dont understand why VW does not just add a camping mode. It is one of the big advantages of EVs imo, that you can sleep in a heated car. Anyone know if they plan to add it?
How is the RWD in the snow? I live in place with lots of snow and in the mountains. My fwd car did not give issue with winter tires. Except for one ti e where I had to wait for snow plow to clear the path in an uphill. Only awd could take the hill, not even a RWD Tesla could do it and had to wait too. AWD is 5000$ more for us
Great video! Do you know what tires the ID4 you drove was fitted with? You mention that you didn't notice hiss/noise from the wheel while driving. Myself, I test drove one recently which had noticeable noise when driving in wet conditions. I'm thinking that could be down to the tires 🤔

The power consumtion will be higher then if you are just one person in the car. Most of the cars like ID.4 is a family car. When I was looking at EV's and I was nuub. @Björn : Concerning towing capabilities, 1000 kg in Norway and Sweden, 1200 kg in Denmark since it's more flat? I want to tow my 1500 kg boat +trailer (sjösättningsvagn) at max 15 km/h with my new ID4 . At that speed surely the towhook load is ok but what about electrical stuff? Issues with regen, motor, brakes? The trailer is only aimed for getting boat in and out of water an short slow hauling on land for winter storage. Nooob at EV:s... Don't want to assume too much, hence asking.

@@AzizIzgin Yes, jag har en ID4 sedan april. Kört 800 mil so far. Körde nyligen Öland - Hudiksvall, full bil i 20 grader, vindstilla och solsken, då drog den 1,79 kWh /mil. Dagen efter Hudiksvall - Luleå spöregn 13grader, motvind (kraftig sådan) takräcke och kajak, då drog den 37% mer 😅. ID.4 var första familjebil på ren el för "rimlig" peng, bra bagageutrymme, dragkrok, hyfsad markfrigång, många serviceverkstäder OCH att den är CO2 neutral från köp.

I like what I'm seeing with the ID4 but am concerned with it having rear wheel drive. That's usually not good on ice and I live in Minnesota; like Siberia only friendlier.
ID4 has 53% of weight at rear axel and ESP so it should be ok in winter with good tyres. 4wd GTX model will come later and that is what you really want in winter.
Bjorn healthy again, Artic circle trip, ID4 stats and Bjorn showing what he eats and sleeping, this I like.
The only problem is at least in the UK, Canada and others that car is slowest EV chargers in EV car business testing!

That would be impractical. However, I already offset this by driving a little bit over the speed limit. Most Norwegians drive with a hat, you know...

Use good winter tires. Stay away from all season tires. Norwegians have been using RWD Model S since 2013 and have no problems in winter.
