I feel like all the music is very upbeat and it's just the style that is different. The starting music is more rock and the Krile music is pop and kind of like disco.

despite the uh..."implications", i get the feeling she's going to be a pretty significant character in the long run; just in the brief three second clip her vibe is immaculate
speaking of vibe, i really like how hard they committed to essentially a full reset, plus the lore of an entirely new continent that seems to be almost the size of the three original zones....hell yeah
serious stakes and emotions can come later, now i want ADVENTURE
yes she's quite significant, at least at this expansion. she's the daughter of previous ruler in the new city. but what implications you're talking about? the only thing from the trailer I've seen is that she looks goofy asf, as if they didint have enough time to make a proper model. especially compared to how our main crew faces finally look literally perfect (remember graha and yshtola endwalker trailer incidents)

You can't really have an adventure without stakes, even if it's just trying to get something, do something or win something.
Doesn't have to be saving the world, but hopefully something.

obviously there are the stakes of the Tural leadership change, probably some other stuff still hidden, but i mean there isn't a serious face in the entire trailer; even the WoL is smiling during most of the fight scene with the big boy
People say this trailer is too happy, and they're right, but given what they also showed at fanfest, i dont know if its going to stay happy for long

Why are people so angry about a different track this time around? We really want the world to be ending every other year? ShB and EW were heavy.
And come on, y'all, even Emet told us to go exploring on our own planet.
Just because there isn't impending doom leeching out of every moment of the trailer doesn't mean it isn't still a meaningful story.
People tend to forget that Heavenward wasn't a world ending story.
I don't think people are angry about the track it's going. People are just not supper invested to the new story yet. it's like finishing a show and starting a new one made by same people. You have trust in the people that's making it, but You'll be apprehensive if you would like it or not. it's simple really. there is nothing to hold on to story wise compared to previous expansions. this time there's no carrot on a stick or cliff hanger to push people along it's all been spent on Endwalker. Dawntails job is to build that up again.
Games are way too interested in world ending plots. I've seen many a setting waste so many interesting grounded stories with smaller, more engaging stakes in favour of yet another world ending threat that has no stakes (because if the game would end if the players lose, then the players can't lose). I'd love for smaller more intimate stories in gaming. Don't threaten the world, threaten a town. Set your game on a frontier and have the big threat be local. Watch as people are more invested because we can actually visualise the threat.
This trailer reminds me of the stormblood trailer in way. It reveals very little about the plot but sets up the 'vibe' the expansion will have. I'm not really crazy about the new jobs but I do LOVE Krile and that reveal was everything. So happy to spend more time with her. I love her outfit but I'm curious to see if she'd ever get a new one, one that shows her hair more because the side pony was cute.
"It's too happy" I feel like that's the point we saved the world/universe this is like the vacation comparatively for our character so I think you want a light hearted theme compared to the darker overtones from previous expacs

Mike that's the point! Since ARR even, we've had a cudgel a world/universe ending event and for once Dawn Trail will be more like, "its time to relax and enjoy the world we saved." My main for example will relish the idea of taking a much needed hiatus for something a little more light hearted. Reason why I loved the Island Sanctuary, Sunayo spends most of her leisure time just napping, tending to her farm and sitting on the beach singing after so many years of being on edge all the time. A new world just makes me more excited because it reminds me of first time players of Skyrim. The world is your oyster and I can't wait for this expansion to go live. Oh of course there will be dangers great and small but the lingering threat of universal destruction is a far flung memory now and that's welcome.🥰🥰🥰
I feel the main reason it isnt as hard and more light is for once the story isnt about us saving the world, it is just goin on an adventure. Should be interesting to see what they are building for this expanse story wise.
Also Dawntrail has totally new writers for the story than the previous expansions so it might be super good or kinda bland but im sure they will nail it!
@@soldierorsomething I feel it will be solid at worst, and great/amazing at best. They got a lot of room to wiggle with, and develope a new long form story, or keep to an adventure per xpac mindset.

Initially I didn't like pictomancer portrayle in trailer/game but the more I see it the more I enjoy it. I do hope we can get alternate skins for the abilliities though. I'd love a water color spell palate.

they cant do a trailer without making at least one character look a little funny lol. Hrothgals looked a lot better with in-game graphics than in the trailer.

my dudes, i love you all but PLEASE fix the subtitles! The youtube auto generated ones are BiS but the files you're uploading from Twitch are already behind when the video starts (and they appear at the top of the video, rather than the bottom). by the time you hit the end of a Drama Time episode, they're at least 40 minutes behind (no joke, i promise you!) sincerely, your deafest fan!

I’ve been waiting for Frothgar since I started back in late 2020. I have literally been holding my Fanta from ARR for this moment. (Kinda funny they are giving us a new Fanta for the character creator update so I didn’t need to hold onto it, but I haven’t wanted to change my femRa character before now.
They are finally fixing scales for Au Ra, so my Fantasia shall remain unused.

Didn't this trailer come out several months ago? I swear to god I've already seen this.
FFXIV usually releases a version of the trailer with stuff cut out at the first fan fest, then a complete version with the newly revealed stuff like new classes at the last fan fest. They decided to do three versions for this expansion so each fanfest could get a little more, with the one a couple months back adding the stuff with the WoL as Viper, and this one adding Krile as Pictomancer and the femHrothgar on the boat

@@TheKillerStove I think they always do 3, or at least since they've been doing fanfest in 3 regions. Initial cut showing mostly nothing > 2nd cut with a job reveal > final cut with full reveal.

The people who keep wanting to see Alphi as taller than Ali or having a beard etc? Elezen don't hit puberty until their 20's and they are 16. If the last 10 years of this game have only been like 1-2 years Eorzean time, then maybe you will see them as adults in about 40 years time.
People also forget they spent 3-5 years on the First and didn't change. We probably won't ever see it.

Funniest thing to think about: Endwalker takes place within 2 weeks tops.
It's not going to ever happen because the fanservice for the characters is primarily about both of them looking/acting cute and innocent.

oof there is just something off looking about that female hrothgar, i hope they rework that a bit cause there is just something super uncanny about it. I think it's the house cat pussy cat head on a buff body, they either should have made her less buff or given her more of a feral cat head like the males.
Go check out the fem hroth in game showcase looks significantly better there imo.

It's just the punk group chant style that the primals do every now and then. Where Uematsu comes from prog rock, I think Soken comes from punk/punk rock.

@@Goujiki I don't think I implied being more knowledgeable than Soken? But neither will I imply that Soken is infallible. While I usually enjoy his compositions he is also the person responsible for the BGM in Labyrinthos.
I just think its because the composition isnt "complete" in the trailer and I believe there are two songs mixed together. But I still enjoyed IMO
I'm really not a fan of those weird stuffs in this game, but I'm gonna play it my way.

As for songs, I think it depends on each person's taste. Because to me it feels really good and fits the atmosphere in the trailer.

The music is all over the place. The only part I like is the bit in the fjght after pineapple Urianger. Amanda's part feels like a demented banshee scream, which is surprising because I love Tomorrow and Tomorrow and the Wings of hope part of the ew trailer. Pictomancer - great idea, extremely out of place, goofy, saturday morning cartoon graphics on it. Fem hrothgar, meh. Excited for the cyberpunk city, usually not my vibe, raids, ultimate, planet colonization and new bozja.the trailer gives me dispair for the future of ff14, but what the writers did in the hyd-zod saga makes me trust them 100%.

For me that title still goes to the SB trailer, but this is definitely close to it. The SB one felt like it had nothing of interest going on, and while this one has SO MUCH happening it still doesn't feel like it actually goes much of anywhere. I guess that's sort of what they were going for, but still. Doesn't do much for me. Oh, well! Can't all be bangers, I guess.

Well that was something. This solidifies my exit from FFXIV after Endwalker now I've seen where things are heading on this 'fun' expansion. It was great whilst it lasted Squeenix. I'll get myself into rebirth then wait for FF17 in ten years time 😂

Also it would be terrible storytelling to always have sky high stakes because the players get fatigued, or have despair 24/7(this last one is an issue FF16 had)
You can just not play then check in after a year, no need to go doom and gloom yourself
