God was with them and they are both fine. Deposition will be taking a break for a while. He will need time to get his head together. His poor body did things that no horses body should be able to do.
Horse racing is government subsidized animal abuse. In what other sport is the death of one of the participants not only shrugged off, but expected? Deposition, apparently, was lucky. This time. So was the jockey.
I liked Resilience after his trip in the slop in the Risen Star. He broke from the 10 post and went wide and still finished fourth, a visually impressive race. (Reminded me of Mage last year in the FOY.) I bet Mage in the Derby off that performance-and his runner-up in the Florida Derby. I love Resilience and bet him at astronomical odds in the futures. He is my Derby horse. Mott will have him ready and odds should be appetizing.
I was at the race, hard to see from where the crowd is what actually happened to Deposition as we cannot go along the entire home stretch… I pray the horse is ok!!
I was there with the St. Lewis family we’ve been friends for a very long time. I can happily report that Deposition and Dexter are okay. A little sore but that’s it. Thanks to all of the fans who prayed for Deposition and Dexter.
All I could find said Deposition was able to get up and walk onto the van so fingers crossed he'll be OK
I was there and saw the screens up behind the horse ambulance
@@glennmerz4900 according to the Bloodhorse neither the horse nor jockey Dexter Haddock is believed to have suffered a serious injury.

He will lose Johnny V for the Derby!
