I love seeing chozen go from a angry teenager villain to a older man full of wisdom and wise beyond his years his character development is one of the best in the franchise
Chozen is now Mr. Miyagi
Yeah but if we could get just a tid bit of that old Chozen then that would be awesome! Lol
Same!!
Chosen honors both Sato and Miyagi with his actions as an older man.
@@svp2010 I know he passed on some years ago but sorry, if there was a magical way to have him fight a same aged version of Miyagi my money would be on Miyagi winning with no more than minimal difficulty. Miyagi is the "yoda" of this fictional universe.
Chozen is such an enigmatic character, he's just so entertaining
honk
You can say that again. He's gonna be the main attraction of season 5.
Indeed!
Yeah
Indeed.
*35 years of chozen finally got his honor back by honking Daniel. The best scene in the whole series. Kk2 was also my favorite!!*
Agreed!
I cracked up so hard when that happened

Karate Kid 2 is hands down one of the best sequels ever, takes what the first movie had and made it even better
YES 👍 ! LOL 😂
Seeing Chozen becoming Daniel’s teacher fills me with so much joy. And when Chozen said in order defeat the enemy, you need to think like them, I already know what that means. It’s time for Daniel to bring back the Cobra Kai side of his training. Time to merge the two together and create something new. Robbie taught Miyagi-Do to Cobra Kai. Time to teach Cobra Kai to Miyagi-Do.
Isn’t Daniel gonna make own way of karate
Thinking like the enemy just means
Knowing how the enemy attacks
@@kidfury3546 🤷♂️
I think the idea is to have chozen go undercover ask to join cobra kai as a sensei to bring terry down from the inside its why he fights all those sensei's in the trailer
However i doubt this will last long since we see him and silver against each other in the 1st trailer
I mean that’s what Johnny has been teaching them the Cobra way that’s all he knows. So Miyagi and eagle fang understand cobra Kai just they don’t know everything.
Chozen has become my favorite character in the whole franchise. He is such a bad ass. Can't wait to see the show next week!
It's actually not next week anymore, it changed until December 2023

The fact that Chozen knows about the Kim family offers a very interesting cue: they might have crossed paths with Miyagi practitioners in the past, maybe Sato. A fight between master Kim and Mr Miyagi would have been the pinnacle of the entire KK and Cobra Kai world.
Yo this would be great back story of why Mr Miyagi wiped the floor with both Kreese & Silver
I think maybe Sato was a karate champion in the 70 s and faced master Kim sun Yung that's how Chozen maybe saw his style and defeated him in combat or maybe he challenged Sato and lost to Miyagi do this bad blood between style maybe originated with the grandmasters and then it was a coincidence for the rivalry to fall upon Daniel and Johnny
@@GregXHunterz I'll never understand why they even thought they stood a chance. Miyagi was an old master with experience on the battlefield, he made Kreese bleed without moving a finger, didn't it occur to them that, most likely, he was as skilled as their own master? Lol.
@Robby Keene I'm pretty sure Chozen can defeat Silver, but with Silver it doesn't just come down to fighting skills, they wanna "expose him" because Terry is rich and resourceful, and the only way to defeat him is to show his true colors, not just beat him in a fight.
@@manu1376 Kreese is racist he must have butted heads with Kim sun Yung and didn't finish his training like Silver that's why I think he never mentions him they must have had bad blood even if he was his teacher and thought he would surpass him and he didn't need him I think
Loved how Chozen called it controversial instead of “wrong.” Continues this theme that not every fighting style fits every individual, but the styles definitely have a place in the world.
Deception is a bad thing until you’re desperate, you’re facing a tougher opponent, and your life’s on the line. Then things like honor and morality are cast aside for the sweet assurance of making it to tomorrow.
@Robby Keene johny was acting stupid and incredibly arrogant in s4 and almost paid for it with his life
I think that what Chozen is teaching Daniel (and his students) is more applicable for "street fighting" than point fighting. The reason being, that rogue Tang Soo Do moves "should be" banned in the All-Valley Tournament. The problem is that the referees in that tournament are bought & paid for by Terry Silver, so it's possible that the Cobra Kai competitors can get away with using these moves.
after hearing Chozen's plan, I have theory that in season 5 thanks to Chozen' that not only Daniel and Johnny but also Sam,Robby,Miguel, Demitri,Hawk and everyone in team Miyag Fang students will learning Silver's " the Way of The Fist " Cobra Kai Karate to have the upper hand by taking a page from their enemy's playbook therefore when there is a one on one fight or a all out group brawl, team Miyagi Fang kids like Daniel and Johnny will be ready and win, those Silver, Sensei Kim ,The Fist and the Cobra Kai kids will fall victims of their own foul play and have a taste of their own medicine in a very poetic justice fashion, ¿what do you think?
To quote the Jem Hadar, “victory is life.”
If one has no choice such as your life at risk theres No such thing as right, wrong, or controversial but do what it takes to survive. However some people adopt the "win at any cost" mentality regardless of the situation.
The development of Chozen, Terry Silver, and John Kreese in terms of aging is refreshing. The writers integrate age as a mark of wisdom acquired, so the characters still move forward. This avoids the tiresome image of old men trying to recapture their glory days or as if past their prime, just sitting in a chair giving advice. On the contrary, they are actively as much a part of the up and coming generation as they were in the previous. Well done!
This is the best comment of the year. Thank you for this.
THIS is how you treat OG Characters - like the Legends that they ARE!

@Netfllxtap Scam
Daniel going why don't you show me without being your body bag lol I think chozen still has a little grudge but that grudge is showing Daniel what it does so chozen still kicked Daniels ass I think chozen will do it a few more times to show Daniel what he is facing you can't show it you have to experience it lol poor Daniel a living experimental kick bag lol

I wonder if Kumiko kept his shirt for her kowection, probably worth some yen by now!
“My name is Terry Silver, my master is Kim Sun-Yung of South Korea. My teacher sends his respects.”
I can't stop smiling. It's just wild how perfect Cobra Kai is. They hit the nail for what we want to see, but the writing and story and the world they have built on top of the original movies is just chef's kiss. The fact that we are seeing all these villains/ex villains are amazing.

I am excited what the best Season 5 will offer. I'm looking forward to it, and also looking forward to get Season 4 of Cobra Kai on DVD in about two weeks.
"Sabum" (or sabumnim) not sensei. That's something the writers should have corrected when they decided to make Tang Soo Do (Korean) the origin art for Cobra Kai. Sensei is a Japanese term. In real life you'd never call a Korean style instructor sensei.
Chozen is my favorite.. Followed VERY closely by Johnny.
Even though Sam pissed me off for the first.. like 3 seasons her Season 4 growth is nice to see.

Chozen is becoming like the younger, somewhat edgier, Miyagi. So smart of the creators to give him this arc and it seems pair him up with Johnny in helping Daniel. Who would have ever thought you’d see that development from the films?
@theranchhand but, didn't Kim teach kreese? So,that means johnny already knows,Kim style,so,why would chozen need to teach daniel
Yuji Okomoto is 63, which is older than we ever saw Miyagi in the main KK trilogy.
Chozen in Karate Kid 2 was in his 20s so since Daniel is in his 50s, Chozen should be in his 60s now so he's older than we ever saw Miyagi which is crazy.
@@darthmong7196 yep, even in that one 1994 movie which shall not be named, the one we don't talk about, he was a year younger than Chozen is now.
@@danieljackson1272 Assuming it was supposed to be in the early 90's, Miyagi wasn't as he was supposed to be born in 1925.
Chozen is a total badass and a completely changed man
Kim is gonna just be an assassin like her grandfather and won't let you get up., deception is a great word to describe Silver especially in KK3. This must be how Chozen sneaks into Cobra Kai.
Deception was everyone’s weakness
Johnny letting Kreese back in
Kreese bringing Robby to Cobra Kai
Silver casually bringing Johnny to the old dojo then kicking him in the eye
That is very likely and would be bad ass
It also suggests the "we're not here to take a lesson" scene comes late in the series or else Chozen would blow his cover.
I'm so glad Chozen is on Daniel's side. He surely the new Mr Miyagi with all collected wisdom from the dark and light type of teachings of martial arts
Chozen is gonna be the main attraction of season 5.

Yes I love that they finally are showing the origins of the styles they use in the movies! Tang Soo Do for Cobra Kai, Goju Ryu for Miyagi-Do. Mix everything they have learned together and you basically have pseudo MMA !
@@neinlives9424 Out of curiosity but what is MMA?
An acronym for Mixed Martial-Arts. Its a fusion of a bunch of fighting styles. Brazilian Jujitsu is probably the most well known one. It has striking, grappling, holds, takedowns, and throws all mixed into 1.
@@triforceofpowa I don’t know if this was meant to be addressed to me directly but thanks for that explanation.
Chozen has got to be the character I've been most excited about in any series. I'm so happy he's a main character in season five.
Chozen being part of the main cast for season 5 is great, and his fighting style as seen in season 3 is no doubt the best we've ever witnessed.
However, he'll go all beast mode in this new season alongside Johnny. Two former villains teaming up will be a spectacle.
That was easley one of the best scene I've seen so far from Cobra Kai.

Aww man, I can already tell Chozen is gonna be the best character this season
The fact that we have 9 days before cobra kai season 5 premieres

they might make Silver badass enough to handle Chozen
Silver is going to fight daniel i think
I think if this happens, Silver will most likely win but we'll see
I see Daniel is still learning that the Miyagi way of thinking isn’t the ONLY way
By "expose him" maybe he meant expose his weakness and exploit it.
@@moseslalmuanpuia8988 he meant show to the world that terry is a psycho instead of a wise karate man.

I swear Cobra Kai is one of the few series keeping Netflix alive now.
Chozen will change the course of this franchise, he's making it better. Plus he has a little of Miyagi in him. Probably because Miyagi Father taught Sato and Sato taught Chozen.
To me, I think Chozen and Johnny are more of the same thought. Like when they both decided to fight that teacher in the trailer. I was like this makes sense.
@@wkadalie
Sense?
That was bound to Happen.... Those 2 have a amazing ark.
But Sato had a more aggressive physical approach (Kyokushin style) which Chozen learned in his early years, while Mr Miyagi practiced the typical Goju-Ryu soft and hard balanced form of karate.
@@thomasrosendahl2783 of course Sato's approach was more aggressive - he was an instructor for the US military for decades, and when teaching martial arts for use on the battlefield, you're going for practicality, not focusing on the self-defense aspect. Things like meditation and kata are going right out the window.
That's why I think that version of miyagi do is more analogous to Cobra Kai, at least how it was taught in the first movie. Kreese's style wasn't really evil per se, the main focus was eliminating threats in a street fight as quickly as possible.
"A man confronts you in the street, he is the enemy, an enemy deserves no mercy". People might think that's evil, but since you can't always tell in the heat of a fight when your opponent is going to stop, it's best to make sure you stop him completely to eliminate the threat to yourself.
That's why in the sparring matches every time somebody won, Kreese always insists they "finish him". Just because the opponent is down on the ground and appears to be through, doesn't mean he is - he could be playing possum, get up, and nail you from behind. Which sort of ties in with what Chozen said, if your opponent "insists on making war, you take away his ability to wage war".
this is one of the best serials on netflix i really really like it and after season 5 i hope there is gonna be another one
Chozen is the closest character which reminds me of the legendary Mr. Miyagi.....love him. His screen presence is magical
When Daniel said “You could’ve just told me,”I was thinking the same thing. Damn, Chozen.
If Chozen had just told him he wouldn't have known exactly what to expect.
Oh man, I can't wait for this, this season is going to be legendary
Cool! After seeing this, i doubt Silver will have any chance to beat Chozen. Chozen knows everything about Kim Sunyung s style.
Silver has a whole army of teachers and students. And maybe even, Mike Barnes.
Then Johnny and Daniel and maybe all the students will help
wisdom123, sure he has, but Chozen isnt alone too. And i am still not sure about Barnes. Yes he will come back, but it would be too easy maybe to make him evil and bad again.
Sean Kanan stated once when he was asked about Barnes, he hoped Barnes would maybe join the Army and go to the Afghanistan war after 911 and learn to become a better man.
I dont know if the writers followed his wish, but i am not sure if he would be on Silver s side. Maybe he isnt a good guy who teams up with Daniel, but maybe he is also not an evil guy who teams up with Silver.
And about that fight: Of course its up to the writers, but in the KK Universe a grew up in the 80s, nobody beats a Miyagi-Do Grandmaster like Miyagi was. And even if Chozen isnt exactly like him, he is the closest thing to him. If the writers dont rewrite the whole KK univers which CK is a part of, Chozen will break anyone to little pieces, exactly like Miyagi did, but Miyagi was nicer and more peacefull.
Imo thats why the writers make the Daniel Silver fight to make it more even. To me it looks here like Chozen trains Daniel how to beat Silver and the weakness in Silver s style.
You knwo what? Mabye Kim Sunyung got killed or defeated by Sato back in the day. And his grand daughter Daeun will freak out if she finds out Chozen is Sato s nephew.
@@chrisbach1533 Making Barnes a good guy, would just mean too many good guys. Even Kreese seems to be heading toward being good.

Omg chozen knows Kim art you see that's slick look on chozen face he knows that martial art style 👌🏽
@Netfllxtap hey thanks 😊
@Netfllxtap how do I contact you
Looks like Silver got some competition.
This proves just how much better the creators of Cobra Kai are than about 90% of other TV showrunners - they're not only able to revive a 30+ year old franchise, they're able to inject new ideas in a way that feels organic while not negating/trashing on what came before, and revitalize characters we had all thought of as one-note, like Terry Silver and Chozen. Chozen here is not simply awesome, but he went through a realistic and understandable arc after TKK2 to get here, which makes his growth all the better.
I think this is the turning point of Daniel's character, this is the scene where Chozen's words spark Daniel into fighting Silver later on. Chozen IS right, as Captain Turner said "If you wanna beat your enemy your gonna have to fight like your enemy". If Daniel wants to beat Cobra Kai, he's gonna have to use their OWN style against them which is no problem since he ALREADY learned it from Silver himself in KK3, and from Johnny in Season 4. But even before then, Daniel always had that fire in him.....🔥
One of the scenes I'm most looking forward to is chouzen and Jonny vs the other cobra kai sensei, although we already know how it will end.
Chosen is Finna go nuts this season
So nice that detail.. Exploring the Martial art background of the bad guys when we know them already as masters
Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg need to be in charge of ALL FUTURE 80s and 90s remakes, continuations, and sequels.
Well, sure you know they are doing a sequel film to Ferris Bueller's Day Off!
Chozen silver and mike Barnes are for sure will be in season 5!
Everyone knows they will be..
Chozen is priceless
Chozen knows the way of the fist.
Look at the patch on Johnny's leg during KK1 tournament.
It is a fist.
The Way of The Fist Obviously.
Next go to KK2.
In the famous "Don't know never been attacked by tree scene, we see Sato also taught US military.
Further and more important, the scene in KK2 where Daniel and Kumiko look in on Chozen's dojo (where he is also training US military) what do we see on the gi's? The same fist patch as Johnny's in KK1.
Finally we get a really good look at this patch in KK2 when Chozen comes in the shelter during the storm and we can see very clearly it is the exact same fist patch that is on Johnny's leg during the KK1 tournament.
Chozen knows the way of the fist.
That goju-kai patch on his leg was a simple nod that the director and wardrobe person did for the writer who was a goju-ryu stylist. Nothing more. Lawrence also wasn't the only one wearing it and not all the Cobra Kai students had it. If you were to ask the original writer about it he'd likely tell you or anyone else that you're over reading things. The only real connection between the Cobra Kai students and Chozen's student wearing that patch is the writer himself. Why didn't either Kreese or Silver or Barnes wear it? Why wasn't it displayed anywhere in the Cobra Kai dojo? Besides the fact that Columbia Pictures likely would have been sued for using the Goju-kai (trademarked) emblem on anything besides those patches.
I like how Chozen attacks Daniel with the style so that he will recognize and not fall victim to it.
Yoooooooo, I am going crazy without even showing emotion. This clip is better then the first clip we got and the seasons quality looks so futuristic. OMG, I AM GOING CRAZY IN THE HEAD
Chozen is more wise now but he is still a straight bad ass
No one could have predicted this show would be getting so many seasons and being so loved.
Props to all the people involved with this passion project.
I used to hate Chozen, But now I really like him. He was just misunderstood since it was from Daniel's perspective.
Chozen was a guy who was defending his honor in part 2....though his methods were questionable. Terry Silver IMO is the true main antagonist of the entire Karate Kid franchise. While John Kreese thought this was a war, Silver thought of it as a game and everyone is either an enemy or his pawn.
No, he was a proper jerk in KK2, but he was redeemed during the time in between.
Nah he abused woman and things like that. He was a jerk for sure in kk2. But obviously he changed now.
he was not misunderstood, he was an outright prick and bully. Sato failed him, even Sato thought so.

So the sensei that Terry Silver spoke of in The Karate Kid Part 3 when he first meets Daniel & Mr Miyagi was indeed his real sensei. I always thought that Terry just made up some fake sensei as part of his mindgames to gain Daniel & Mr Miyagi's trust in TKKP3.
FUN FACT: Tang Soo Do is a Korean Martial Art which was the precursor to the more popular & more widely taught Tae Kwon Do. One famous practitioner of Tang Soo Do is none other than Chuck Norris who began training in Tang Soo Do while serving in The US Army. It's this Martial Art that Norris utilized during his competitive Martial Arts career all the way to his film & TV career.
