A fantastic trip out on old stuff I used a child, please can we start a couple of hours earlier in future as we only just got on the first bus out of Ormskirk to the Hop Vine which looked ace with over 100 lads and lasses outside having a beer. Also not to many folks on the route knew what was going on. A great event for every one.
I will pass your request to the organisers. I think they fit the timings to fit in with the pubs. I believe the event was advertised by CAMRA it being a event for real ale drinkers rather than bus enthusiasts. One route, route B, is only suitable for single deckers due to low trees so capacity could be an issue if it gets very busy
Thanks, it's good to know it's appreciated. Sadly not everyone does. Though generally most do. The guys at the Merseyside Transport Trust work hard putting these events on, all volunteers
It’s good to see classic buses being used for the beer run so that people don’t have to drive to get home. I think we should have a system like this in Hertfordshire!!
It was very popular that's certain. Everyone appreciated what the drivers, guards & stewards did . The addition of feeder buses to get people to and from the event was a good idea
Love the sound of these old buses..growing up we had the crosville number 40 terminating at the bottom of our road and we'd get rolls of bus tickets and the driver and conductor would let us turn the destination board at the front..Happy days....
Hi i'm viatron from Sheffield, well I like to see a 1950 Crossley SD42/7 half cab forward entrance single deck bus from Southport Corporation making it's very first outing on the old Southport Corporation bus routes around the seaside resort & prolapse you might make a very special vintage bus video about it, because I like to see a vintage 1950 Crossley DD42/7 half cab single deck bus run a very special circular tour when it finally comes out. Thank you for your co-operation on this very special Crossley bus subject from David Viatron Esquire of crookes in Sheffield.
Am not 100 % sure that the Merseyside Transport Trust has one of those in their collection. Have to say it's something that would be very interesting to see though. I would have to check what they have
Cheers Brian. I didn't get to ride everything either. I know the parbold route was very busy when I was on it. The day was certainly popular. The feeder from Southport was well loaded
Approx 7.30 mins. I returned home to Liverpool from Brighton 5 days ago after 30 years... So was truly freaked to see a bus today at Penny Lane Liverpool going from Brighton via Lewes to Uckfield. That was my bus route to work. Genually thought I was tripping! Had to dig to find this on net but thank you for what you do. Its still called the Regency route but its the 28/29 today. 😂

Never knew there was a Beer and Bus festival. Very interesting.
It was revived last year after a few years absence
I really appreciate the editing, and commentary. It's a lot of work in itself. Looks like it was a long day.

Another great video saw you in Southport Saturday .Nice to see the Fishwick Nationals .
Thanks Alan, the Fishwick national gave me & the punters on route B a lively ride. They were running a little late. Great fun !!

They do have a character about them that's missing in modern buses. L227 has a particular purr that takes you back
Another great video
Thanks for sharing mate
Cheers Rich. Fun day was had by all. I managed to stay sober, unlike a few years back

Another great video, Paul. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to ride on all of the buses used today as I spent a little longer in the pubs than I intended.

@stepho1815 yes there was a vintage bus running day today in Liverpool
Thanks for that. Guess the universe is showing me I did the right thing coming home.
😊
I'm going to have to join you on one of these excursions, I am... 🍺
You're more than welcome, the MTT open day is an event you won't want to miss. It's on 14 July this year.
I love that shade of green!! It’s just not available to the car driver!!
Unfortunately I don't know what that shade of green is called . Can anyone from the MTT help here?
Lancashire Beer and Buses looks like a great event. Which organisation put together? You didn't say.
It's in the title and the video description. The upcoming mtt open day gets a plug too
First 🎉
Thanks, appreciated!
@@Merseywail No problem
L227 is making awful noises, probably from the gearbox.
Will have to listen to how it sounds again. It's always been a loud bus
Awful how?
