Hey Everybody, In this video I show you how I layout graphics on LiME LiNE metal flake that has been cleared and sanded down with 600 grit. Starting with 1/8" green LiME LiNE I layout both sides using tape as reference. Edging the tape out with black basecoat while blacking out the center for the water transfer. Spraying brown concentrated candy mixed with clear basecoat fading into the center of the panels. Be sure to lay down your transfer on sanded clearcoat to insure good adhesion.

I literally can’t believe what I just saw and what’s possible. Amazing talent! Unreal skill! You can really tell you love what you do and I pray I find my niche where I can have a job that I love just like you. God bless.
Back in the early 80's, when acrylic and enamel were the only options, I used to get images from a magazine and spray them with 3-4 coats of clear. When it dried you could gently soak in water and rub the paper off the clear layer. The dye from the paper would transfer to the clear and make a transfer that you could stick to the surface with another light clear coat where you wanted to put it. Very similar outcome.

You can do the same with a laser printer.
My wife did it on some wooden boxes with awesome results, instead of lacker she used latex or mod podge, basically the exact same process, after rubbing the paper the print is there, in this case it was a photo
As an old guy who spent over 4 decades in automotive repair and refinishing. I can truly understand the craftsmanship of such a piece. I've never used gold leaf, awesome effect.
Craftsmanship sure, but the style is dated. I imagine the owner has an orange kitchen and limegreen bathroom

I had my 2004 H-D Fatboy tank airbrushed ( by Airbrush perfection in the UK) and I was terrified of scratches afterwards. Almost to the point I couldn't ride without fear. It was so beautiful.

Been following you it seems like sence 2010 when you work was accidentally come across 🙃 looking up random custom motorcycle paint jobs as usual i am truly impressed with you work and the results you get,you sir are a very talented inspirational painter and artist 🎨 thanks for always sharing your ideas and work for us home guys who are not in the field but will buy the equipment to rebuild our bikes at home 😀 I got a estimate of 8000 to custom paint my full dresser thanks to guys like you on the net sharing ideas 💡 I was able to spend 2000 on paint supplies and equipment and pull off a professional custom candy paint job saving 6000 dollars and now I have equipment to help family and friends out who were in my predicament not being able to afford 4000 to 10,000 on a custom paint job with art after building my bike over 5 years piece by piece and learning the art I can see why its so expensive for such work with parts and materials through the roof in pricing and the hours time and steps needed. With time,time and more time being the biggest cost sometimes its is a time consuming process with fixing mistakes from chemical reactions 🙃 lol and the learning curve i have a lot of respect for the people in the field after setting up to accomplish such a project on a bike with 20 different pieces to fix prep sand prime paint sand paint tape off sand clear sand paint sand clear sand lol,there's some attention to detail and patience needed cause you can and will have issues the 2 fender 1 tank bikes are a nice break cause the full dresser touring bikes can get very involved working at home in your spare time and trying to work full time and keep wife and kids happy 😊 once again thanks for sharing your ideas and helping us 🇺🇸 guys who are determined to save a few bucks doin the work at home and making a complete mess out of our garage with sanding dust and that metalflake gets everywhere lol.peace brother and keep the great videos coming 👍.
I could sit watching someone applying the fine line marking tape with such skill and precision all day, it’s an art form in itself. The end paint job is the cherry on top for me. Bravo Sir!👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻😁

Bad thing about laying pinstripes on something that small is you never can get them identical. Looks identical, but can notice a difference. The best professionals can't get them to match up either.
