Maps is one of my favorite songs. The Yeah Yeah Yeah's version I think succeeds at being very tender and sentimental, while I like this version because it has an intense feeling of desperation and yearning.
Either way, I think they did a lovely job and really like the lead singer's powerful, raw, vocals. I'm glad to have found this band and wish them the best.

James N yes and some people that make covers like to reinterpret the original song a bit. It’s an artistic decision that I happen and I happen to love this one. What’s the point of covering a song if you’re just going to play a pale imitation of the original?
rockxwl I think artists are better off changing the instrumentation rather than belting out vocals to a soft song. It’s like if I was screaming Dust In The Wind, it wouldn’t make any sense

This is so goddamn good I have to ask myself if its just a fever dream? The Yeah Yeah Yeahs pulled in Peter Hook to play a song and channeled it through Rainer Maria and PJ Harvey's "Dry"? Yeah nothing as epic as that is supposed to happen right? Nothing is supposed to carry the weight and power of music anymore like this and I nearly wouldn't believe it if wasn't for the exhausted breathe at the end.
