I believe that the perfect watercolour pallet is the one that get used. I like your view on things. It is so easy to get lost in the materials instead of making art which I suppose was the reason the paints were bought in the first place. And yes, it doesn't matter what the paints are called when you are using them, only when you share about the pallet and people want to know which is what. Totally agree with you ❤

loved your video! you seem to have a very similar approach to mine when it comes to colors!! I agree that your greens and blues look super similar, if you are open to suggestions i would recomment Indigo for a really beautiful dark blue. And for greens sap green is a great one. I also use opera rose and violet cause i like the vibrancy and you cannot get those colors from mixing a more natural palette also Payne's Gray changed the game for me for shadows!

Thank you! I nearly bought a sap green recently when I was thinking about changing one of the greens. (I probably would have got that in the first place if more colours had been available haha). Thanks for the suggestions!

Oh and don't listen to RUclipsrs about not using white or black because those saying they don't use white or black or the exact same people that will finish a black fine liner and white gouache.

Great video! I just have one question, how long have you been using that palette of colours? 😉😅
I always admire people who don't get sucked into the "collect every colour/brand" mindset. I'm somewhere in between. I'm definitely not minimalist when it comes to paints but I certainly don't have the kind of collection that I see some Art Vloggers have (I'd never have room to store that much stuff!!). I do recognize that I have far more palettes and paints than I need. You are VERY right in that having too many is overwhelming and leads to indecision. Every few months I resolve not to buy anymore in hopes that resolution will stick lol.
It's great that you've stuck with that palette for such a long time to know your colours so well. I'm glad you mentioned your mixing space, I was going to ask you what you used for mixing! I love Helen Cryer's videos and seeing how she uses/compares her supplies. She uses a ton of products that I might not have interest in purchasing myself (like pastels), but I just enjoy seeing how they're used and how she incorporates them in her art. When I watch some RUclips videos, I wonder if the person only collects supplies for swatching videos and then shoves them in a drawer, but it's obvious that Helen actually purchases supplies to use and enjoy.

Oh sorry, didn't I mention..... I've been using that palette for over a year! I can't believe I forgot to mention that! Hahahahaha!
This morning I watched Helen Cryer's video where she was just swatching her granulating greens and I thought it was funny having just edited my video where I literally have 3 greens in total. But I still enjoy watching those videos!

P.S. you have a pretty standard palette. I would be surprised to see colors with glitter or only pastel colors 😅😅😅😅

Yeah, I guess wanting to keep my selection fairly small, I wanted colours that would be most practical for the kind of scenes that I paint. (If I want pastels, I just add white.)

No, it doesn't exist. I collect several mini pallettes until i realized that i want to have ALL colors all the time with me! So i had to find the biggest box that will fit 35 full pans , and fit there all different full pans that i have (i have only full pans now). Now i'm satisfied because i could mix and match them and because when i'm outside, i don't have time to mix colors!!! I need all color to be ready for me!. 😅😅😅😅😅😅

Have you tried oil and acrylic? I have 2 boxes with these paints ready to use, and i'm intimidated even to tey them😅😅😅😅

I've not used acrylics (not that I can remember anyway). I had some oil paints as a teenager but didn't get on with them.

Darn right. The best palette, the best paints are the least costly ones that you'll use. Nothing else matters. Do what works for you. Seems to me you've got this hobby down.
