Thanks for the game Dirk! Big fan of yours, watch your videos and matches. It was good insight that I can learn from, I started playing over the summer and have been hooked ever since! I want to get to grandmaster level so hopefully we can play again eventually and I can beat you with a better pr 😎
Hi Dirk, I assume that you played the 41 correctly in that last game? (I thought closing the board seemed correct and you still had 2 checkers to try and pick up his last checker). I would have liked to see the cube action in that same game, when you decided that there was too much risk against the gammon potential. Again, I assume that your cube was correct (I may have taken a roll and probably regretted it :-) ). Thanks again for such an insighful video !!
The 41 at 36:00 was correctly played by closing the board. 13/12 13/9* is a 0.074 error. Closing the board wins 99.3% with 33.6% G and the hitting play wins 90.6% with 28.8% G on XG++.
Hi Geoff, yes hitting would have been a blunder. Btw in the description there are links to download the matches if you want to check for yourself sth I didn't analyze. My cube was exactly borderline.
If I were matched with you on a game, I would also go 😍😍😍

40:30 Great way of thinking about doubling to estimate how often you lose your market and by how much.
ppl go 😍bc they are loving the fact that they got matched up against Dirk Schiemann.
What is the BGG mouse/kb shortcut Dirk uses to make a point quickly? excellent content as always.
Just tap the point you want to make
