A question. Is the Captain chair always on the right side of the bridge as in same side as driver side of an Australian vehicle ? Or can the Captain choose to put their chair anywhere on the bridge ?
F-knows 😂 ADF is probably just going to lease civvie ships out until they come up with a plan to replace them. Like they’re leasing everything else from the civvies
@@MichaelKingsfordGray 😂Classified. Cmon mate a simple google will tell us all everything. The mine clearance role was supposed was slated for replacement by a modified version of the Arafura class patrol boats. However with cuts to the Arafura class it’s unclear if or when we will get a replacement. Nothing Classified about that😂
My Dad being a Vietnam Vet on HMAS Melbourne and Hobart would not recognise the RAN today. And growing up in the environment of the RAN as a kid. Wow what a shit show it is more like the UN Navy very disappointing.
The Huon doesn't operate in hostile waters solo, it's meant for mine clearing and if in hostile waters they would first be cleared of hostiles by other ships
Very interesting, thank you to all the crew and those involved in producing this video.
They fly the diver flag so that the Chinese Navy knows when to perform a sonar ping.
Not going to lie, having a wetsuit in Auscam would be epic.
So are these huon class's being replaced by the evolved capes or the arafura's? Maybe a bit from each.
Spoke to a chief stoker last weekend he isn’t sure yet….🤷🏻♂
theyre being replaced by submarines,
Essentially not being replaced by anything for a while leaving a capability gap. Classic ADF stitch up
Drones. Can go longer, deeper, and don't require CSOMWs...
Nice ship. What company built the engines?
Fincattiari

In my experience the Captains chair is always on the starboard (right) side of any RAN warship that I have served on.
starboard is the senior side of the vessel in most countries and you will usually find that the CO's quarters are on the starboard side as well
Good doco
So what does the mine clearance roles when these are decommissioned?

Don't worry, all of our other ships will find them.
Deployable drone support teams
Classified.

Background music is too dominant in the mix- difficult to hear their voices
440 volts. Oh how to be a sparky.
Have you found the golden rivet yet?
Lt's final salute is WRONG, unless they've changed it since I was there. Just saying, he should know better.
needs some attack jet skis
Maybe I have watched too much sea patrol but I was expecting more drama........
3 year old warship breaking down???

I'm glad I'm not part of it any more.
In what way? What was the problem with the clip?
first
casually giving out information so the enemy knows where to fire on the bridge to hit the captain or the crew
Yeah something tells me that's hardly secret information. Perhaps taking a few moments to think before typing next time would be best.
