Best laid plans of the red tool house. We’ve got a ridge line on our homestead that whips the wind up pretty good. That’s where our fruit orchard is and provided us the name of our place - Whispering Orchard. When the wind blows through the orchard it sounds like whispers… and it makes simple tasks like this very time consuming.

Troy, was your fly open during this video? A tip for all ya'll watching.......a smaller butane torch works much better than the propane. Much better control. Garden is coming along nicely. Well done. You did lose me with "kale" tho.

When you were planting your carrots it brought back a funny but angry memory of 2 years ago. I have just a few raised beds ( small lot). I planted 2 packets of the rainbow mix carrots as we had always had good luck. After 2 weeks we saw growth but did not look like carrots. Long stringy 2 inch very thin stems. We let them grow and they started to look like wheat of some kind. It grew to 2 ft tall and got a head that looked like oats only much smaller. I sent a e-mail to the company and they admitter to some mix up in the spring that saw some seeds being wrongly marked, I got a $20 gift card. LOL still do not know what it was I produced in my bed.

I chuckle at how Kelly uses a tape measure to precisely measure the spacing on the plants. I usually just cut a stick to the length, and eyeball it...."we're not buildin' the space shuttle". LOL. Glad it's time to be planting, finally, though. Seems like it was a LONG winter, and hopefully, the monsoon season is gonna let up here in NE Ohio.

Were the braces for the raised beds not supposed to connect the sides approximately half way up? I wondered when I saw them installed at the top and after seeing how far they are bowing out, I'm thinking that might be the better location.

Brussel sprouts... A waste of space 😂
There was this one time in my life I enjoyed eating them at a restaurant, never figured out they prepared them and never had the same experience since.

@@gayle.hampson Maybe. It was a high end restaurant and they were cut in half with lots of butter. They literally melted in my mouth, really couldn't believe they could taste that good. It was that one time in my life though, every other time it's been a big yuck!

I had a horrible experience having to try them as a kid & waited until just a few years ago to give them another try. They were delicious! Now…to convince Troy.😁 ~Kelly

Great chuckles in this video. We've all been there.
I'd love to hear what went well and what didn't later this summer. I often get overly ambitious and plant more than we can use.
