Me from the UK. I was a body popper from the 1980s, and I have always admired and even tried to copy the incredible dancing skills of Poppin Taco. All I can say is that perhaps in this lifetime we will never witness again that high caliber of dancing,, body poping skills, or artistry like Poppin Taco. Poppin Taco we salute you.
Pop n taco was from another world with his popping... such an inspiration... when i first seen him wave and king cobra i lost my mind..... it didnt look real... i couldnt believe somebody can move in this way. LEGEND
I agree you!!!! I said pretty much the same thing when I seen him. Bruno was “Instantly” my favorite character & an ICON to me in dance & influenced me in that era (Showing my age a lil / I was 15yrs old)😄 Seen the movie at the theater & came out Hyped & Super Energetic after seeing them perform. LEGEND is Spot On!!!!
i truly am so glad the as a history of dance/(authentic funk forms) we can see clearly what poppin is sposed to look like and feel like. thank you Taco..
Individually everyone has their freedom of expression, Taco Took basic stylez and mixed them into his own Creation..He was very in tact with his Body Muscle control intricately done with smooth perfection. hittin Tickin Tuttin boppn gliding poppn etc..Also Pop NTaco was the one who trained micheal jackson.and he's the O.G. So RECOGNIZE N GIVE CREDIT "Master Bruno Falcon "yuuppp"
You couldn’t of said It any better..... he was very, very much in tact with his body muscle control, so precise... It was as if he can generate electricity with his movements.
all his moves are amazing.....sometimes at certain points when I see Taco dance I yell out "IMPOSSIBLE" with my hands in the air. Which other popper smiles while he dances? Ladies and gentlemen, God sent this one.
Taco is the King of Pop Lock-in. His style has influenced soo many including the King of Pop, that speaks volumes, till this day he still has got, like they say legends never die.
Poppin Taco - This clip, when I first saw this, it made me wanna get clean with everything I do. This is pure gold, raw diamonds and Im so happy its being shared again - It dont get more fresher than this !!!!!!

Well everyone has their own opinion and I honestly don't think Salah is good, well let me rephrase that. I just don't like his style at all, but that is my opinion only...
Why did the breakin/hip hop collaboration have to end in the 80s anyway? I was a teen in the 80s, but not in this scene. But it seems like when NWA and all that gangsta crap came out, a lot of people in the hip hop scene dropped breakin and started up with the whole gang bs.
Hahaha you got jokes if they could transfer you to my era you wouldnt think twice about that dude. They had no social media when they auditioned they auditioned only LA when they should of came where it originated from Oakland Sacramento northern California
Fact really what do you know about fact i give u a fact these two clowns weren't half as good as some of us. Bcos they auditioned for the locker dude in LA where they are from they didnt announce auditions back then no social media we didnt hear about a movie bcos if we did you people wouldnt be talking bullshit about these cats now that is a fact. OG Popper MEKANIZM AKA B-BOP
It's so easy nowadays (relatively speaking). When I first learned about 'Popping' I must have been about 12 or 13 years old. The the only place I got to see popping and breaking were either very rarely on TV or actually in school when on the rare occasion a circle would form somewhere during the lunch break and there would be challenges. Aside from t hat I just didn't get to see enough of it; I guess it wasn't as big over here in the UK as it must have been in the states (or at least we were a lot slower in the picking up of this dance), so in attempting to emulate this stuff, I had no idea what I was doing. We didn't even have a Betamax or VHS player yet, so once the TV show as gone, it was gone. I remember a few friends putting down cardboard in the estate playground and everyone trying moves; we had no guidance really. Such a shame. But it was fun to do anyway. Kept us over energetic kids busy. Now there's all these clips of amazing artists doing jaw dropping moves; I only recently discovered Poppin Taco. I can't imagine how this would have blown my mind to see back then when it was fresh off the press. I might not have even been able to process it. It's magical to see this, even all these years after it was made.
I’m UK too and remember dudes taking rolled up squares of Lino to school that we polished up with pledge (furniture polish) or sprinkled with talc. The Breakdance movie was THE movie at that time which we all aspired to recreate the moves. Although the “bad guy” of the movie so to speak…Taco was my favourite dancer….the move where he did the heartbeat thing blew my mind and I still watch it to this day! 👍🏻😁
This clip was NOT before MJ did it. MJ knew it already. He actually knew it years before he debuted it on the Motown 25….after MOtown 25, he called BOOGALOO SHRIMP over to his house to help him perfect it.
It was Jeffrey Daniel from Shalamar who taught MJ the moonwalk in 1980. The dance was around long before MJ, it was called the backslide. MJ renamed it the Moonwalk and debuted it At Motown’s 25th.
@@SOURMARTINI0214 exactly correct. JD showed it to MJ around 80…Shrimp helped him perfect it after M25, at MJs request since shrimp had the cleanest backslide out at the time.
A lot of the stuff he did in the movie was real amazing too though.... but since the movie wasn’t really based on him, we didn’t see a lot of what he can do..
Y’all keep saying this lol it’s not true at all. These clips are POST Motown 25…and fyi, MJ knew of the ”Backslide” in 79-80…he just didn’t use it until Motown 25. Then AFTER Motown 25, he called Boogaloo Shrimp over to his Havenhurst mansion to help him perfect it.

His moves are so robotic that it’s almost unreal! I was mesmerized the first time I saw him dance. RIP to a true legend!!

That move he did after the moonwalk, almost like a forward moonwalk, was nasty as hell. Never seen someone do that.

That moonwalk was before Michael Jackson started doing it. This guy was artistic director and choreographer for Michael Jackson for 16 years.
michael knew it first though

That move actually dates back to the 50s with some people even saying the history began in the 20/30s. I haven’t seen any evidence of that though
Everyone else develop ur own style and stop biting!

Vato is bien firme!
