I would love the 3.6l engine and seats in the canyon/colorado but I also want that reliability and resale and value in the tacoma, you just can't have everything.
They might last a long time but if your not comfortable when you drive whats the point. To me at least it felt like I was sitting on a piece of plywood bolt upright.
Biggiiful he must be! That’s why my cousin has switch from a life long Tacoma ownerships, to he’s first new Colorado Z71,4x4AWD, Diesel! After he and his wife driving my Colorado Z71,4x4, V6, while we were all in a trip with our travel trailers, that are identical and weigh 4,800 lbs. they wanted to switch during the trip so we did for a tankful of gas, on the Tacoma cause there was still about 60 miles left in the Colorado, that and the fact they were way more comfortable! Plus the extra power on the long interstate grades, in the Colorado over his Tacoma was a factor. Even just the V6 gas!, over the V6 gas in his Tacoma! He went out the next week and bought the new Colorado diesel he is now very happy with. That gets just over 30 mpg commuting to work 35 miles each way on the highway. His Tacoma was lucky to get 23! My Colorado gets 27 highway 28 city.
Good review but somehow the Delani wheel makes the tire looks smaller than it actually is. I got my Canyon as a last year left over for $22k from $29k. It's The basic crew cab but has lots of creature comfort features.
Great review, Chris! The Canyon seems like a pretty solid entry in its class! Offering a very rugged, and functional design! I am actually really liking the route GMC/Chevy went with, with the rebirth of the Colorado/Canyon! By far, this vehicle is a very competative entry. This vehicle won't have much trouble selling in my eyes! Keep up the great work, CarGurus! I cannot wait until I can review one of these GM twins, too! 😃 -DriveAndBeDriven 🚘 "The Quest To Record The Best!" 📽
Great looking truck! How is the road noise inside the cab with the Bridgestone's? Now days... It appears you have to step up to a half ton truck or larger to get away from it. Among the mid size trucks... Frontier is really bad btw! It's almost as if the window is down. Thx!
Nice "mid" truck. Top spec trim, no problem it is however fairly expensive compared to all other trucks in it's segment. If the Canyon came with the diesel and 4 wheel drive in the extended cab version, it would be my choice of rigs!
You would choose the highest spec model...why not opt for something the average Joe can afford ? Give us a rating on the 4 cylinder...we already know the V6 is stout.
Did you keep this GMC long enough to eventually experience the shudder while driving? This has become a much bigger problem with the tranny than Chevy or GMC are willing to admit or address. The dealerships play stupid but they are hearing this complaint all the time.
Testing a Denali trim level Canyon I feel is essentially useless. Most will not purchase that vehicle and if they do, it won't be used as an actual truck.

Beach Lovin you talking about the Tacoma?

Best review of the Canyon I have seen. Thank you.

For a Denali, it is lacking a bunch of things vis a vis a full sized Sierra Denali.
I'm actually curious for the upcoming Ford Ranger.
What? Push to start and pretty cluster gauge.
44k and no rear seat vent? Seriously? Does the base model even have A.C.?
Not needed in a cab that small.

"The federal gov. gives it a 4 star rating"? Hmm, didn't know that. Sounds erroneous.

GM doesnt care how you use it, as long as you buy it
Beautiful
Pay extra?! It should come with nicer material for that price!
This truck doesn’t get any better fuel mileage than the 2.7 turbo in a full size? Hard sell for the same price.
*Love it😎
The side step is “useless” huh? Tell that to my 4”11 wife.
😂😂Mine too, also 4'11👍
