HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 фев 2021
- In this video, we will show you how to convert an old roadbike into a ghetto single speed/fixed gear bike, in less than 5 hours. Including painting the thing! It is possible.
Many thanks to www.ontdekplek... for using their amazing location to run this workshop!

#fixie #build #cheap
It really makes me wanna do something like that, repairing my own bike for example
Fun build! To anyone reading this that are in the same situation with a stuck crank, it's better to cut the axle on both sides and remove the leftover piece with a press. The bottom bracket is more disposable than the crank.
This fixie looks beautiful. You chose the same colors that I chose for my bike.
Good choice!
I very carefully considered building a flip/flop fixed-gear in this manner, but the hassle of dealing with chain line corruption and chain tension issues pushed me to buying a purpose-built bike instead. It came with front and rear brakes partly installed, so I completed both and will ride it that way as I will use the freewheel side for group rides. Lots of respect to those who do these conversions, but I'll stick to returning bikes to their original format, at least for now.
That`s a nice build , I would ride that .
Dat is een leuk fietsje geworden!! Ik ben nu zelf ook een oude fiets aan het ombouwen, lekker klooien!
Goed bezig!
Mooi Fixie, jongens!
Jullie zijn echt awesome!
You guys are the best, great video. Very helpful video
Bro you rule! This video is awesome
Thanks man! Appreciate it! 😊
Great looking bike! Currently doing my own Fuji track restoration
Love that!
This is a beautiful bike build
Absolutely love this video, I just did the same thing with a Vintage frame I bought for cheap and then built it all up from scratch and now I am very pleased with the result. You guys are really inspiring. Interesting question but how come you didn't grease the stem?
Honestly, we just didn't have the right assembly grease! Thanks for your kind words man!
Awesome video man keep up btw very kice bike
5:06 there is a hair under the paint job😂
How much was the crankset and wheelset. I have a monte carlo road bike I may want to do this . Super inspiring
wheel set was €130, crank set was approximately €50, but we user old bikes for those parts
Niceee
-shout out please! From Philippines
Why did you decide on a press fit bottom bracket instead of a threaded one?
It had no threads on the inside of the bottom bracket tube.
Maar uhm waarom precies in een kleedkamer of wc of wat het dan ook is wel een leip fietsie hoor
Hahaha tsja, onze werkplaats zit in een oud schoolgebouw 😂 in de kleedkamer om precies te zijn
Wow emejijing
grease the stem and seat post please! this hurts me.
We want it to become inseperable 😉
1:08 bearing extractor
Can vertical drop out effect like track end guys
Do you know how to remove a ripped of screw from a soldered cantilever socket? (The cantilever post mount bolt is not screwed into the frame.)
I would say water pump pliers or weld something to the broken screw and then twist it
@@Raphson The screw ripped off inside the cantilever boss. It is unreachable. I try to decide whether I should try to drill out the screw, try to unsolder the bosses or just try to find a new frame.
Nice build! You could have deleted the seat stay bridge as well while you were grinding off all the brazeons.
Gimme one plis
Where you from?
@@Raphson malaysia🇲🇾
Brother sending it to you costs like 750 Malaysian Ringgit. It's probably not worth that, is it!?
Could you share the link for where you bought the flip flop wheel set?
sick
Really really good ! 😁😄
I have a question..
Do you have some problem with the chain Line ?
I would "single speeded" my vintage Peugeot cycle ans i am afraid about Chain Line problem 😅
You can play with the side to which your front blade is attached to the crank. That gives a few centimeters. Also, you could try spacers in the rear hub assembly.
Where to get a pair of wheels like those?
I bought it at santafixie
classic type fix
Hey! Great video, one question, what size is The bike frame you are using here?? And what size bike frame should one buy for doing a thing like This??
Hey man! You should just get a frame that is good for your size! A conversion can be done with any size!
Santafixie 😂😂😂😂😂 I bet those wheels weighed about as much as a small house 😂😂😂😂
But they cost as little as a large bread 💰
What kind of bottom bracket is that?
You video arrive to Colombia.
Dude gimme one fixie 😁
Why?
@@Raphson because i admire how you build and you're one my inspiration to build a fixie though it's a rough year because of the pandemic can't afford to buy one . Though its so desperately that im asking for someone to have my first fixie lol i just want to have one for my birthday 😁
Where are you from?
@@Raphson im from Philippines
How would we get a bike too you then
❤️
waar hebben julliedie crank en buitebanden gehaald?
is the wheel 700c?
Does this bike make a good commuter?
Definitely
멋져요
Hi, very useful video. May I ask you what type of
spray paint did you use?
It was dedicated Gazelle paint: www.internet-bikes.com/m/4760-gazelle-spuitlak-150-ml-rood-metallic/
@@Raphson Thank you!
Just asking can i use my mtb frame to make a fixie?
You can use any frame, but a chonky mtb frame might give a different vibe than a slim steel frame.
@@Raphson thanks im planning to build a fixie but i only have mtb frame
Go for it dude! That will be a sick cross fixie
@@Raphson what part do i need to buy? Im just a newbie 😂😂
Most important is a fixie rear wheel man! It's called a track wheel.
0:55 wat tha heck is it!! 👁️, if your puller cannot seperate the crank from the axle, you need to tighten the black side "tightly",after that you can continue pull out a crank from the axle.
Waar kopen jullie die wielen met spaken en terugtraprem ik kan ze niet vinden
Yo man, bij bijvoorbeeld santafixie
Of djangos bikeshop
Could you put wheels link plz ? thanks
Here you go: www.santafixie.nl/m-wave-wielenset-wit-cnc.html
Heavy Metal sounds better :-) On the grinding section, then you went south. :-)
What’s the price on that rim ?
Around 130 euros
Can I have it??🤔
This one is with hoodiemans cousin now. Sorry man!
:D
Please can I have the fixie? I'm from the Philippines
Sorry man, this one is already with a mate of mine😔
@@Raphson oh that's ok but if you're building another one, can I please have it?🙂
@@jaymikkolabon907 can i have your smartphone? plsssss i need a new smartphone !11
akin nalang brip mo pre
4:50 the paint is already peeling off the spokes... Santafixie wheels = generally cheap rubbish.
6:05: no assembly paste between the headset base plate and the fork...? (I haven't seen any use in the whole vid...!)
And 1 second later you recommend greasing... Oh dear.
Seriously, you can build a fixed in 1 hour. Now you did it in an evening, rushing several things (like painting).
Camera work is annoying at the end.
ikr
It's fuckin awesome! 😎
Guys monster energy drink is 100x better than wd40
