    In Rocket League, the concept of the “first man’s job” being to “make it easy for your second man” can be problematic in higher levels of play due to several factors:
    1. Overly Predictable Plays: If the first player (first man) focuses solely on setting up an easy play, they may become predictable to the opposing team. High-level opponents can anticipate setups intended to simplify things for the second man, leading to interceptions or challenges that disrupt the play entirely.
    2. Limited Offensive Creativity: When the first man prioritizes making things easy for the second, they might avoid taking risks that could create more dynamic scoring opportunities. For instance, rather than taking a shot or attempting a risky solo play, they may settle for a safe pass. This can limit offensive pressure and reduce the team’s scoring potential, as opponents can adjust to more predictable and conservative setups.
    3. Second Man Dependency: Relying too heavily on the second man can make the team dependent on their position and timing. If the second man isn’t optimally positioned or misreads the first man’s intentions, the play can break down. Instead, fluid communication and adaptability from both players allow for a more flexible and less predictable approach.
    4. Weak Rotations: When the first man’s focus is solely on setting up the second, they might neglect quick rotations back to defense. If the play fails, a slow recovery can leave the team vulnerable to counterattacks, especially if the third man is also out of position.
    For effective gameplay, it’s generally best if all players in a rotation are adaptable, balancing offensive support with quick, proactive defense and avoiding rigid roles.

    Do you have any packs or words of wisdom at controlling the ball when the ball is off wall or in awkward positions? Poquito's pack doesn't have many of those. I know how to bang it in when it's far off the wall (like Aerial off wall pack), but not when it's awkwardly close or just off the back walls.

    • @ibeachz9873
      @ibeachz9873  8 месяцев назад +1

      No packs, but if it’s awkwardly close but not on the wall, mess the with jump timing, and try to softly lob it up by hitting below the ball in the middle. It’s pretty tough to learn but it’s just the jump timing.

      @@ibeachz9873 Thanks bro also if you really want to get control down watch kevpert by far the best advice giver on this topic there are 4 main control touches bounce pop car pop power slide catch and the obvious touching to the wall all takes time to practice but when you get there you set up more plays and better plays for yourself and tm8 also makes you harder to read so you end up with more space by that alone

    Far as I could tell you're playing fast and wreckless, seemed you were most focused on when you thought you'd be able to make a touch on the ball and went for it if you thought you could, while struggling to follow your own advice. Most players seem to play kinda like that from what I've seen. Because you're commentating your gameplay, and gave an explanation beforehand, I can see it's not mindless or anything like that. I noticed most of your commentary was mostly trying to find justification for what you had just done, which at the time was probably just habitual and not thought out, rather than deciding beforehand what you should do. And when I think like this, or from what I've seen of commentary playthroughs, we hide our mistakes from ourselves when we do this. I see popular RLCS coaches, former pros and other high level players on youtube doing the same thing, for years. Flakes is one of the few exceptions. It's also really hard, especially reviewing after a play, in real time, to understand everything we did or mistakes.
    It's easier to see on a replay, at least if you go into replay with the intent of being critical and looking where to improve. I think replay analysis is a better format for instructional or educational videos. But I see people commentating their replays doing the same justifying as well.
