Because the time and dedication needed in this game to rank up is now immense, the 10 year life span means only die hard fans and sweaty tryhards remain. the Skill of the community has ramped up 100 fold to the point where platinum 3s are now flip resetting in ranked . Putting the time in to stay competitive just means you sacrifice other things in your life, stop trying people just have fun and get on with your lives!
A year of my life means I’m almost SSL. If you wanna compete great, if you don’t, also great. There’s a level of discipline expected if you want to climb and improve, that goes for everything in life. It’s just what matters to you. Sacrifices must be made with anything if you want to improve at something. It’s not fair of you to down play what people care about and tell them to “move on” with their lives. And yes a plat is resetting in ranked, maybe 1 in 500 games, and if you find that scary competitive to you, fair enough, you simply don’t want to compete, and that’s okay. Again, don’t down play what people care about simply because you don’t have passion for it yourself.
I actually beg to differ if you play to improve you can get pretty far, I gave up playing another game last year and freed some limited time up for games and just play RL now, Since November I’m lucky to get 10 hours a week end of last year I was c1 in 2s and I pushed 1500 this season About 7-8 hours of that time is training (1 hour a day) and last couple I either casual spam or play 1s I push ranked towards the end of the season to see my progress The definition of insanity we have all heard of it, if your ranked spamming everyday without trying to improve mechs, sense & mindset you can’t be surprised if your not improving
I spend 90% of my time in training...literally don't care Bout my rank lol been in d1 for a year and I'm well above d1 lol I just enjoy learning mechanics
"Discipline is having control of yourself." I have never heard it put that way but that's an absolutely excellent way to put it. Loving the content man.
@@ibeachz9873 Nah man, thank you! I found your channel only a few weeks ago and just today I secured my GC rewards. This video, in particular, was instrumental for getting me out of my slump. I realized I was focusing on so many things: my teammate, my mechs, my positioning, my decisions....everything but the freaking ball wouldn't you imagine? When you mentioned just having fun and being disciplined, it reminded HOW I love to play Rocket League and that's just being an absolute brick wall for the opponents. I love being an absolute pest on the field and when I started playing the way I love to play - it's like everything I learned in my 3 years as a champ player finally made sense. Sorry for the long comment, but this was a really big moment for me and I gotta share in the success. You're doing great stuff man!
I like this video. You talk about something I've been trying to figure out for a very long time now and now I know what the answer to the pushing your self question really is. For the longest time I've been thinking pushing your limits means that you try to perfect mechanics and also try to combine as many as you can in to one play like for example you can combine an air dribble with a flip reset in to a double tap. Stuff like that I have been thinking is pushing your self if you can't do them yet however I forgot about what you talked about which is the speed you can do these things at
also wanted to add in that I myself can so a lot of mechanics both fast and slow but I am much less consistent on the fast part but because I do a lot of mechanical things slow and I can hit them with a lot of precision does not mean that I have mastered it which my ego thought I did so this was very nice to see so that my ego could let go of that thought
i dont know if our coaching thing from the giveaway i won is still up so im just gonna say Coaching ❤️ this video is acc pretty helpful man keep it up!
Hey, any tips to improve my mindset whether that just be tilting or like you mentioned ego, I feel like it’s one of the things thats holding me back most right now with improving. Coaching ❤
Could you make a video about spacing? I asked one of my ssl friends how it seemed so easy for lethamyr to get ssl in his road to ssl from a year or so ago and he told me it’s bc he understands spacing so I’m curious to learn more about it
Thats really interesting. The issue I find with spacing sense is that I think it mostly just comes with playtime and knowledge of yourself as a player, because it really depends on your mechanical ability. In 2s while being last man you should be positioned to follow your mate play and/or keep applying pressure on the opponent, but if you cannot defend shots while being backwards (like in a shadow position) very well you will have to spaced you out more to give you more time. Maybe Im just overcomplicating it, but what im trying to say is that obviously you can allow yourself to take more risks (as positioning yourself closer to the play) when having good mechanics to back up for the worst case scenario.
@@guidodinello1369 Yeah this is true about positioning. I was more getting at the fact that lethamyr wasn’t really “moving” very fast but he was able to cover everything (tm8s positive and negative) while maintaining this slower speed and it seemed really easy. This is what I was more curious about how he achieved that but yeah what you said is correct.
It would really be an honor if I could be coached. It's been extremely insightful and helpful to learn how to play the game and not just freestyles n stuff. I recently had a interaction with a GC2 in a game as a plat (they never played ones) and I am obsessing over the replay hehehe. So having my playstyle put in the eyes of a better player would be something I'd treasure! Coaching with a ❤ :D
I don’t have a super computer, so it would take about 6 hours to render that at least through editing software let alone RUclips, for my size, I’m not sure it’s worth it.

Is easy, when opponent have control, you let them advanced with shadow defense facing your net, the moment they lose control you match the ball.
So you make feel opponent with space, but he actually dont, so the moment you have possession, you counter or capitalize on a mistake.
