Replying to a 2 year old comment. Verhoeven recieved an award for worst director for show girls, he went to the ceremony and received the award personally. To be fair show girls grossed 100 million in dvd (sorry I mean home theater) and became a kind of cult classic.
Starship Troopers is a timeless classic but Total Recall is forever re-watchable excellence too
