Man, I'm playin 20years, had some bands over the years but mostly play for the love of playin and jamming along with my favorite tunes. All the classics of course things got a bit slack and I hadn't picked it up in a while, untill recently,I fell I lost myself and I had always said when I was playing the guitar was the one constant thing that kept me alive, so I feel it calling me to play again, play more againa and learn more as my playin got stagnant. Your vids which I oy found recently have helped get me inspired again and iv a few of your vids in saved in my "guitar lessons" playlist on here to get my teeth into.. thank you kindly, from your Celtic cousin here in Ireland. Slainté mo Chará 🤙🏼
Love ALL the pinch harmonics in this solo....I NAILED this one a few years back....seen Bon Jovi many times...first time they opened for Ratt in 1985....killer show like seeing you play it Mark....cheers....
Oh. I've been playing this wrong since 1987. Now that I have this video, I still can't play it right because I suck! But at least I can watch someone do it properly! Great video mate.
@@mastertheguitar It helped a lot. Also, using the playback speed control helps as well. I’m mainly a finger style guy who struggles with lead playing, mainly due to fingering. Watching you move from phrase to phrase has helped me “get it”.
This is my favourite solo, but I could never play it correctly until I found your video! Amazing job! I found your old video teaching the intro, but have you ever taught the acoustic and electric parts for the verse and chorus? I can play something close, but I need the level of accuracy that only you can provide! 😉
I've not taught it via RUclips, I did buy my 12 string to record it for another session teaching the whole song though :D. If you're interested there's a full transcription of the song (with animated Soundslice TAB, isolated tracks etc) over on the Patreon - www.patreon.com/posts/wanted-dead-or-64513079
GREAT lesson, as usual. Only thing I would say is it would be extremely helpful if you played through the entire solo at the beginning of the lesson. It would help to hear all of the phrases put together fluently. (Particularly phrases 5 and 6).
@@mastertheguitar I actually found that playthrough after I posted my comment. You nailed it. I watched all the other videos that come up on a google search, and yours is the only one that sounds correct.
Wait wait! So the tone/note of the pinch harmonic, can be changed, using the same string but move it around?! I need to try that, never knew. Awesome lesson mate, ty 👍
Great lesson. You are the best teacher on RUclips. Please do a solo lesson for an Iron Maiden solo (not Aces High). I loved you video on the riff of Back in the village.
I have a question for you young man on this video I know it's been a year but I was wondering on wanted dead or alive the very first notes at the very very beginning of the song what are the notes or the chords don't know exactly what he's doing at the very very beginning of the song before he gets into the little riff walking down the neck can you set any light on that or is that even a guitar would appreciate some help on that thank you bro
It's a preset I created on the HELIX, full details/settings are available here for Patrons: www.patreon.com/posts/wanted-dead-or-8-66368914 basically it's a hot rodded Marshall setup :)
I’m using my Line 6 HELIX LT with a hot air rodded Marshall setup effectively. Pinch harmonics is all in the technique the amp just makes things louder. Try adding a good bit of vibrato with the fretting hand to put more energy into the string to make the harmonic sing! ( Poet ;) )
You're such a good teacher. Yeah. I saw these guys in 84 with Cinderella opening for them, then again in like 89. Richie Sambora is a great guitar player, and he was doing most of the singing when I saw them the first time because Bon Jovi's voice was toast. 😂 This is really a pretty easy song to play. 🤘 Great lessons sir. You're a really good teacher. Really good. Love the tone and that Charvel is killer. You have some great axes my friend . Regards from the heartland. Indiana. USA. ♥️🤘♥️
Live Sambora tended to play it with power chords but on the original recording (I transcribed this from the isolated guitar tracks) he plays single notes.
Sorry I don’t fully understand, if you mean a full playthrough check out the pinned comment or video info. If you mean a video of me playing my own interpretation of the solo that’s not the aim here.
A bit of an unrealistic criticism, phrase by phrase is a good way to break down a solo etc. it’s not for everyone though. I also have a animated TAB playthrough if you’d prefer that ruclips.net/video/0IhgLWtKlIc/видео.html
I was watching some covers of this solo while getting frustrated by how sloppy they were. And then I landed here. Tears of joy! Awesome job.
This is up there with some of the Best Guitar Tutorials of all time! You absolutely nailed this solo and its small intricacies. Nicely done Sir! 👍🎸🍺
At last. Finally someone nails it, quirks, nuances and all! Fantastic job mate. A world class lesson?
Thank you :) it's all in the details.
How do you know he nailed it, he can't even play it...

Fantastic mate. I've been playing this wrong for 30 years haha. I knew it wasn't right but now I'm putting it right thanks to you.
That’s a great feeling 🤘
That Charvel looks and sounds killer!

Very grateful for your hard work to get this done. Top notch!

Awesome tutorial, you really covered every little nuance of an iconic solo. Great job! 👌🏼. Thanks!

Casually dropping pinch harmonics on every string at will
👍👍

What's your amp setup? I cant get my pinches to scream like that

phrase 8 should be with power chords not single notes.
Live Sambora tended to play it with power chords but on the original recording (I transcribed this from the isolated guitar tracks) he plays single notes.
Put out a video and play the solo yourself, not just the quirks..... I'd like to hear it...
