Bro, I heard "wanted dead or alive." I wanted to learn it, so I searched you tube and you popped up. I have been watching your video and playing it for about 3-4 weeks. I really enjoyed your tutorial, I have practiced with it multiple times with your tutorial. You are very good in explaining and teaching. I appreciate it. I started playing the guitar when I was about 32 years old. I had a great instructor Wayne Jarrel who was amazing and motivated me to learn the guitar. He is embedded in my life forever. You have some of those same qualities. It brought back great memories. I mostly play chords, but at this point in my life I am challenging myself to play stuff more difficult. This song and your tutorial is working great. Another three weeks to a month and I will be shredding it, I am 62 years old and still ripping my axe!
60 myself, and have been great at G, D,C, ,,, ,, lol, retired and started learning, theory, how to read music, but nothing beats having something like this to work everything into shape on. You have to wire it for it to work, and if you want to be stronger, you exercise,, we want to be better,we have to practice, practice practice. And this is a song worth learning , especially with his instructions. Everything laid right out. 😊it will still take me a little while.. but it will be done.
Oh, 20 years ago or so. Forgot all of it and picked it up about 3 years ago now. Was not like riding a bike! I’m mostly a rhythm player now. Keeping it simple. 3,4,5 chord songs that I can sing. I anticipate this will take me 4-6 months to work in and play well. Old fingers and far too few neuro-pathways! But I will get it. Thank you again.
68 had to stop due to a bad wreck. I'm playing guitar again after years of sever pain. Headaches back injury aggravated. Don't give up the Music has saved me a true gift from God.
Try to play before you go to bed you remember it better that way but do it every day 5 min it gets better until it's a addiction and your knocking them dead. Don't give up.
Thank you so much! I'm going to play this to my mom on her birthday. Her favorite song is Wanted Dead or Alive by her fave band, Bon Jovi. Thanks again!!!! Much love 😊😊
My thoughts exactly! He does an awesome job helping people learn a bit faster than most of these teacher on here who explain everything like you don't know how to make a chord... I don't need the explanation over and over, i just want to play the guitar and get some tunes rockin'!
You have a brilliant approach for teaching someone with adhd how to play. I have struggled for many years progressing very slowly as I go, and it gets difficult to keep picking it up with such little gain. I am fortunate that I sing pretty well and that is what keeps me battling on with the git. But your easy to follow, simplified breakdown, is huge help for me as it offers techniques I can carry over to songs I already know, improving my performance of them also. I really can't thank you enough....may ur heart be warm, ur beer be cold, and both forever full...😆
Just found you yesterday for the first time. (I'm a beginner for over a year). You're teaching methods coupled with showing the DUDU's strumming lets me see the when to strum the string and what to do. Everything started clicking and making sense for me. I felt like the movie "A Beautiful Mind" THANK YOU.

You are a G.O.A.T. I have watched many lessons on this, and you completely broke it down for the struggling folks. I can actually make sense of it. Keep up the good teaching, much appreciated 👍
wow, you are so easy to listen to and follow. I really like the way you explain the timing. thanks so much, i look forward to progressing with your lessons.
Thank you so much for actually taking the time to break this down! By far the BEST lesson on learning this iconic song! I’m learning it on my 12 string. Have it down pretty good considering I just sat down tonight with it. The most difficult part for me is skipping the B string. I’ve written some original songs where I do a lot of string skipping with picking, so it’s just a matter of playing this one slow and setting the picking pattern to muscle memory. Then the speed and timing will come. I’m in the same boat with Silent Lucidity - that one is giving me fits ugh…lol
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad this video helped you. It's a great song and I bet it sounds amazing on your 12 string. How long have you been playing guitar?
Yes, it sounds really nice on my 12 string thanks to you! It will sound even better when I have it down where I can play it consistently clean and with the same tempo. You make it look so easy and effortlessly! I’ve been playing 6 string acoustic and electric since I was 13 (I’m a young 61 now). Albeit the playing was off and on due life happenings... I picked up my first 12 string about 10 years ago. I traded an Ibanez 6 string electric for it. It was love at first strum - even though I knew nothing about how to even begin to play it. There’s definitely something magical about the 12 string and it has been the inspiration for so many original songs. It just resonates with me. Especially since I learned about drop tuning and now play exclusively in Drop D tuning. I’m basically self taught - I’ve not taken any formal lessons. I’ve been a lot more serious about my playing for about the past 5 years or so. I developed my own arpeggiated picking style - finger style but with picking (which is why I was so drawn to your lesson for the Wanted intro). I do skip strings a lot in my arpeggiated style (there’s also strumming in certain parts). I met my current songwriting partner about 5 years ago - I sent her some of my early originals that I had recorded on my iPhone when we first started dating. She was (and is) very inspired by my style of playing and the chords I choose (lots of minors). She tells my my music takes her on journeys. She’s told my I’m a very emotional player and it comes out in my music. She’s had her own rock bands and has played in many others, yet she’s told me no one has ever inspired her like my playing has. She believes in me and our music. She is all in on our music (she’s written original songs as well). She plays guitar, keyboards, she writes lyrics, she sings, she composes, she arranges. She’s learning how to record, mix and master our songs. I tell her all the time that I have the easy part - I just have to come up with songs lol. We’ve recorded some demos that she’s working with so we can start getting our music out there. The songs I’ve written are influenced by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam, just to name a few. I’d love to share a couple of our demos with you so you can get a better feel for what we’re doing.
We don’t have anything posted publicly as of yet. As my songwriting partner is learning recording/mixing/mastering as we go along, she wants to have the recordings as polished and professional sounding as possible before unleashing them. The first song we have slated for release (on Spotify, RUclips, to our fan base etc.) is an instrumental that we wrote where I’m playing the rhythm progression that I came up with (string skipping included) on my 12 string and she’s playing the lead over it. She nailed the lead on it perfectly as it could not have been more fitting for the progression I wrote. We’ve received very heartfelt positive responses from the friends and family we’ve shared it with and have played it live for. It even brought tears to her 94 years old dad. That being said, I can send the demo file to you directly if there’s a way you can give me your email address without having you get thrown under the bus by announcing it to the world. I can also post my email address on here so you can contact me directly so I can send it to you if you’d prefer.

Thank you for the comment, I’m glad you found it helpful! I did not know this about the aviation regiment. You’ve taught me something! How long have you been playing guitar?
I was listening to this in my car today and said this would be cool to play. Great break down of each section and very very understandable even for a guy in his late sixties.
Absolutely fantastic lesson, 30 minutes and I was almost Richie Zambora......all joking aside, played this song in its entirety in less than 45 min of practice. Thanks so much!!!
Appreciate this breakdown very much! A lot of other videos don't clearly show what to do with your fingers. I'm 35 and just picked the guitar up exactly a month ago today so finger placement instructions for me is the only way I'm progressing quickly. Thanks again!!
Great lesson / instruction. The cheat chords would funky until your up to speed, don't get hung up on it just go with until you arrive. Often, slow speed in needed to learn a song and can sound funky. Thanks for posting / sharing and pleasantly delivered instruction.
@@Studio33guitar I dabbled a few years back but nothing past learning basic chords. But I started again in January this year and I've spent alit of time practicing. I can play some songs all the way through now but I need practice on my strumming and finger picking and also I have trouble muting the strings with my fat fingers 😅
@@nicksonstorie648 That’s excellent. I know a lot of people were inspired to learn this year because of lockdowns etc. Was that your case? I have a bunch of videos on my channel about strumming. Hopefully you can get some good info from those too!
That was an excellent tutorial! I've been fiddling around trying to learn this on my own for years! I got close... but now I can do it right! Thanks so much! Subbed and looking to learn!
Thanks for this video! Your style of teaching is awesome, you take it slow but not too slow, and break it down and go over the just learned segment while going into the next. I've been playing for many years but was stuck for a long time on the 1st 3 frets, now I'm going up and down the neck some and doing barre chords and some scales. trying to incorporate some licks and mini leads into chords. Again super great instruction Thanks!!!
@@Studio33guitar Thanks for asking. I started the first of August, 2020. I've always wanted to learn to play guitar, but never took the steps necessary to make it happen. I'm so glad I took the plunge. It is frustrating at times, but also rewarding as I slowly creep along at a snail's pace. I have in person lessons once a week, but I find videos help so much to reinforce what I learn in the lesson because I can stop, rewind, and watch as many times as necessary. Your tip for playing the simplified F is going to be a game changer. I subscribed to your channel and will be making my way through your lessons. Thank you again.
@@donnacolwell3988 that’s great! I’m happy to help. If you started in august and you’re hanging in there, that’s a good sign. Many people get frustrated and quit around the 3-4 month mark. Now that you’ve made it past that hump, you should be seeing big progress. Keep at it, it gets easier. And the great thing about guitar is you will NEVER know it all. That’s what keeps it interesting! I’m happy to help if you have questions along the way!
ThanQ Studio33Guitar guy, i have always played it by ear & it has always gone down well when i play but there was always in my ears that something was slightly wrong ( more a note missed ) & it was the intro wind down into the lower single notes you showed that put it right - thankyou very muchly indeed Sir :) - am now playing it alive & wanted rather than dead flat ;)
@@Studio33guitar Indeed awesome, i have been playing on & off 30 odd years but more in the past 15 years , to be truthfull i tend to play my own style of blues , rock & drone ( sleepy ) but i have to have a few goto favourite tunes i love , Bon Jovi - Wanted dead or alive , DIre Straits - The Mans Too Strong , Creedence Clearwater - Bad Moon which links nicely to Warren Zevon's Werewolf of London & Kid Rocks All SUmmer Long & last but not least Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama :) How long have you been playing teaching ?
Great list! All classics! I have been playing for 35 years and have been teaching almost as long! I love watching other succeed in learning how to play. It’s great to watch those “lightbulb” moments when things come together. Thanks again for watching!

- @@Studio33guitar about 40 years! Please note I've seen this done both ways so not criticising your tab in any way. You've done a great job with this.
If you play along with Richie, it's played 5/3/1, on a 12 string...I have played this 1,000 times it seems...everyone said we sounded just like Bon Jovi. Fun song. My favorite to play.
Loved your video. So clear and easy to grasp. My son wants me to play Modjo’s ‘What I mean,’ is this something you can put out and Adele’s Crazy for you. Can’t find anywhere. Thank you for this video. 😊
Most of the time it is not that hard, You just need somenome who teaches it at the right speed. For example, a lot of teachers here on TY, explain 'everything' like you are still a beginner and point out every chord like You just got started. That is one thing that annoys me. Not that it's purposely belittling, but sometimes You tend to beat yourself up when it looks like You're not learning as quick as you would like. But as with everything, patience and practice is key. And this fellow right here, in this particular video gets you up to speed on this marvellous song! Thanks bruh, I didn't get ur name, so for now i'm calling you bruh. ;) I clicked thumbs up and subscribed to Your channel because i think (hope) this will bring me to my next platform, as in growing phase with playing my guitar.
Very well done showing clearly while actually explaining in simple terms, how to progress through the riff smoothly. I learned this one by ear (I have perfect pitch, but not the guitar fundamentals). I had to start at 25% speed, and slowly work my way up. A lot of picky people will cry foul that it “doesn’t sound like the song!”. Well, that’s when I played it for some of my finicky friends on my Epiphone 12 string 😉
@@Studio33guitar I've been playing on and off for quite a few years. But I just can't seem to keep up the will or joy after a while. Then I put down the guitar and only play it once in a while. Maybe it's because I don't have a good enough daily rehearsal plan, or the "guitar spirit" just don't last very long inside me. It's very expensive to get a personal face to face teacher, and there are so many sites online that teach guitar. That is very confusing to me, and I often don't know which way I want to go. Maybe you have an idea to how I can maintain my focus and don't give up after a short period.. That would be very appreciated!
@@depe12345 Yes, this is a common struggle. I think most people go through this. I know I do! I find I need structure.
Thank u for learning me it!!

@@Studio33guitarHello i've started for 20 years ago but with many and long stops meantimes. Your way to teach is very good.
Great to hear! Thank you! I hope my other videos help you too!
Thanks bruh, I didn't get ur name, so for now i'm calling you bruh. ;)
I clicked thumbs up and subscribed to Your channel because i think (hope) this will bring me to my next platform, as in growing phase with playing my guitar.
