    Excellent choice.

45 deg bank at Vx is optimal for turn back.

I'm not a pilot and have no idea of emergency procedures. However I always heard that it was a bad idea to turn around and try to go back with engine failure on take off. I guess this proves different or it depends on the situation.

yes, you wouldn't try that in a twin with one engine out or in gusty conditions. medium bank at low altitudes must be coordinated. the caravan is actually a really good glider with the prop feathered. but you're right, that type of turn back has led to some crashes. if conditions were less favourable (unlike in this training event) i would put the caravan down in a clearing into wind. it's built pretty tough and as long as there's no fire should be survivable.

@@SSaugaCriss It’s better in a twin than a single engine like the 208, as long as it’s not your critical engine obviously. Because then you still have some thrust

there is a minimum altitude at which this can be done. you need to be prepared to go str8 ahead if you have not made that altitude while climbing out. also wind is a HUGE factor. but what you've heard about doing a 180 is right. it is not recommended.

Yes it depends on how high you are. It has been successfully demonstrated in a Cessna 172 at 800 feet back to same runway (article in Flying Magizine). Must be practiced and PERFECT execution. The technique is totally opposite of what you would think. Your outcome may vary. Yes I am also a pilot.

At over 1,000 agl. A Possible Turnback. Better than crashing on the hood or forest.

Great vidoe - always fly the aircraft, and you get to go home at the end of the day.

Id say it was an exercise. Guy in the right seat doesnt even react when the power came off.

If you watch carefully, you'll see the guy in the right seat (the instructor) reach over and pull the power lever once they got to a height that HE knew they could get back from.
Probably took a point off from the pilot for letting the stall warning squeak once.
      Good exercise all round.
