  • A pair of hungry wolves come up with a smart plan to swindle the swamp bears away from their carrion. While one wolf distracts the bears, the other goes in and steals her fill.

      I saw the full documentary on NGC yesterday... the next encounter between these bears and the wolves was epic, the bears make a stand but 2 wolves managed to steal their food after exhauting the bears by making them chase after the 2 wolves... it's truely amazing and facinating to watch how brave and clever these wolves are.

    This shows the level intelligence of wolves, they're smarter than domesticated dogs. A lot of people don't realize that bears are some of the smartest animals on the planet, they just don't do many studies on them but they have high level problem solving skills.

      Evan Garvey Wolves and ravens have a very strong conection. they will follow each other around. Ravens may lead wolves to a carcass that they can‘t open up with their beaks...they may however follow packs in order to get leftovers from their hunt.

    I cant fully believe documentaries like this though, could be that the bears left the meat, the wolves sneaked in, the bears cameback, the wolves didnt get enough and in desperation tried to go for the smallest bear and failed. You’d be surprised how they could make story from stitched footages. Props for editing though, but the sound effects.

    People still can't comprehend the intelligence of the wolf , thinking 2, 3 steps ahead and using superior strategy to outwit the bears and it seems to be instinctual cause plan needed to be drawn , no meeting . They are amazing animals !

    Even that young bear has the power to easily dispatch any of those wolves...bears hate to be bothered, at all! It's the only reason they ran off in the first place.

    I doubt the big bears really left the carcass to come to the little bear's aid and I also doubt the wolves plan was that intricate. More likely the wolves just tried to stir up some chaos and confusion, knowing that that might give them an opportunity to grab a bite of meat.

      Corpse eating birds are one of the main problems of cheetahs and such. Most birds are noisy, always tend to start commotion. Hard to keep the prey to your self.
