PSA: Know Your Risk

No matter where you live, work, or visit in Tennessee, it’s important to learn about the potential hazards near you and how to receive emergency alerts.
From severe storms to floods, wildfires or man-made emergencies, we want you to be ready. The southeast U-S has a great risk for tornadoes, especially at night.
It can be a scary and stressful time when you find out on the local news or social media that a possible disaster may happen soon. Follow the instructions from local emergency managers and public officials. They will provide the latest recommendations based on the threat to your community and appropriate safety measures.
Make sure you have a programmed weather radio at home. Attachments, like a pillow shaker or strobe light, may be helpful to enhance the alerting system.
