  • Today, we are taking apart our brand-new GMC Hummer EV to explore what lies beneath the Interstellar White bodyshell. Given the undercarriage, noise, and battery drain of this vehicle, I initially assumed it had four motors. However, what I ultimately discovered left me pleasantly surprised!
    Thank you for watching. - Chris

      Definitely gut all the electronics and front servo and put pro electronics in it.

    Do a tour of the And We Rollin garage and the And We Rollin work Shop in one 😮

      I think that is a great idea. I can definitely make that happen. It just might take a little time. There are some cars under cover that need a video first 🙂

    I am considering ditching my hotwheels collection for rastar models, just for display, they look pretty detailed for that less expensive then the die-cast 1.18 scales, that look questionable at best the "cheaper" ones...so yeah...
    Good job on the HEV

      I think they are definitely suitable for display. I keep one on my desk.
      Thank you. Now I just need to put it back together 😆.

      still dismanteled? :)) Some hobby grade electronics would do the trick....i thingk of making 4-5 and race them with friends, but not to fast, with the stock motor just fine tune the steering and throtle...

      @@RCmadness888 Yeah, I haven't touched it since I took it apart. Still thinking about what direction I want to go with it.
      That sound really fun. I have been thinking about getting more controllers so I can do that. Then I think about someone other than me crashing and I'm like "no thank you" 😆.

    I really thought it would have been logical to have duplicate front and rear drive and steer modules. Like you I was surprised to find just one drive motor. It would have certainly simplified the driveline and gearing set-up. I also don't know why Rastar doesn't just install a traditional style self-contained mini-servo. They are very cheap and it would massively simplify the components and assembly.

      @AndWeRollin  9 месяцев назад +2

      Next time I'm working with the Hummer I'll probably try to see if the rear assembly can fit in the front. It seems like it would. I'm curious about that.
      It is interesting that they continue to choose a system of way too many gears to control the steering. I think I can definitely simplify and compact the drivetrain package with some time and effort.

      @BlackSeaRC 9 месяцев назад

      @@AndWeRollin Perhaps they want to keep control of all manufacturing in-house but to me, a traditional mini servo would be cheaper than making and assembling all those gears (plus less noise and most importantly, a step towards proportional control).

    I think your usual brushless setup and high speed shenanigans might not work well with this. Well, when has it worked? 🤣 Just kidding.
    Anyway, given the unique drive and steering systems, maybe use stock electronics and just increase power for a little more acceleration/speed. Definitely work on the suspension.
    Or….just go crazy and see if you can get it to go 100 mph before crashing!!! 😆

    • @AndWeRollin
      @AndWeRollin  9 месяцев назад

      I have no idea what you might be referring to. My entire collection is in excellent condition and doesn't require any repairs. 😂🤥
      Leaving the stock electronics as they are would likely be the best choice. Slightly increasing the voltage and modifying the suspension is probably the safest modification route. The only issue is that I have a couple of ideas in my head, and "best" or safest" is not a part of them. However, I will admit they probably are not go 100 mph level ideas. 🤣

      Many models I find on Ebay. Newer models such as the Hummer I find on Aliexpress. I believe worldwide shipping should be available for both of those options.
