I really enjoyed this video! The discussion about the challenges of integrating foregrounds with backgrounds is so relatable. The tips on composition and using foregrounds for framing are super helpful. I appreciate the candid reflections on the struggle to get the perfect shot, and the demonstration of using a geared head for precision was fascinating. The beautiful woodland scenes and your honest commentary made it a compelling watch. Thanks for sharing your process and thoughts!
Hi Andrew. Talking about foreground. The stump with the small bracket fungi. In the case of no foreground. I put my backpack in the scene in front of the camera, covering it with a camo scrim and dropping some leaves. On to the bag.the bag blends well, giving an instant foreground. Maybe this may be an idea for you to play with in the future Regards David
Hi Andrew. At 27.40 ish. The log on the floor. Try using an off camera flash. This will isolate the fungi and give a black background to your image. This would give you a concentrated image of the fungi . Trial and error. But it does intensify the image. Regards David
The three mushroom picture against the dwindling path is really beautiful. Super! The problem of introducing a foreground tending to deliver a picture in two halves is very true. There seems to be a tendency to screw on a ridiculously wide angle lens in the determination to get the caterpillar crawling across your left shoe tack sharp along with Castle New Schwanstein two miles away. To be honest, this can only come off now and again. Usually you are much better off taking two separate photos. This is the trap you fall into if you set out with a pre-chosen composition long before you have taken-in the actual scene in front of you. It may take ten rotten shots until you decide to concentrate on a sane photo of the castle. To put it simple - you do not always need a prominent foreground.
28:27 A Mediumfoot spotted in the background. 28:37 Second Mediumfoot follows behind. They often hunt in pairs. Luckily Andrew's bright red jacket warns them he might be poisonous and they do not attack.
I expect it's more that spotting a fool in the woods talking to himself warrants a phone call to the men in white coats or simply ignoring. Either way, i didn't stay around long..
Antoine, Thanks. I don't know what the problem is with your accounts and RUclips BUT, I TWICE had replies to someone vanish recently. The first time I assumed it was finger trouble on my phone so I replied on my laptop. That too vanished. WTF is happening?

Top Drawer ..
Thank you.
Excellent, your videos help me with my frustration of woodland photography 😊
Woodland is one of the hardest of outdoor photography pursuits. Best tip, Look for shapes and patterns, not trees.
Love the photo with the 3 mushrooms, and the trail leading off.
Thanks
That's very kind of you, thank you

What I’d like to know is how you keep that hat on, I have one and my coat collar pushes it off whenever I go to floor level, it’s so annoying.
Like every other part of me, I have a "spechul" head
I have sent you an Email.
