- Ado's voice is even more raw and exposed in this, only my second Ado experience -- Leaving lots of room to hear all of her tasty, distorted, quirky goodness! What a voice!

Don’t know if anyone has mentioned that this song is actually a cover. I believe the original singer is Shiina Ringo. Ado dose a amazing job,
Yeeee! Think she said she chose to do it cause she was the same age as miss Ringo was when she first did the song?
椎名林檎この曲を10代で作って21歳の時にリリースしました!
The original song is great too.
@@kamikome1494 こんな曲を20歳で作れんのかよ😇マジでレベチで神様だな、、私なんて( ᐛ )こんな顔で外で遊んで飯食って漫画読んでスヤスヤ寝てたわ、、、、
i did mention that it's a cover when i recommended this song in the comments :P
Was even hoping for a comparison of the two versions :P
The craziest part about her besides that crazy fucking range her voice has is shes mostly (like 95%) self taught and she started by singing covers in her own closet. Her control at such a rediculously young age and her ability to use things most singers try to avoid as a strength (such as the voice cracks or breaks) and adapt her own style is simply incredible.
I heard that Shina Ringo, who is the original singer song writer of this song, said that:
"If there were Ado when I released this song, I would NOT sing this song."
Anyway, if you want to listen more special Japanese song, I would recommend
"白日 Hakujitsu" by King Gnu.
YESSS !!! She said that if Ado was there 25 years ago, she would have been the one to sing her debut album !!
What video did she say it on? I'm intrigued
@@HanazukaNo.2 it was in an article somewhere i forgot
however, I love Shina Ringo's version more. This version, 罪と罰 from百鬼夜行, is the best among all.
Ado also idolise her too so it's really wholesome how sheera ringo said something like that :)
the first time i listened to Ado's cover of crime and punishment i was laying in my room at like midnight, headphones in, eyes closed, and it got a full body reaction out of me. when she let out that scream halfway through the song i was brought to tears. Ado's voice is AMAZING.
Her singing style is so...free. if anything she kind of breaks conventional ways you'd think about singing, and uses what are normally considered WEAKNESSES most singers actively avoid as a strength...she is literally her own autotune at some points, its incredible.
It's funny how some singers actively loathe vocaloids, while Ado was like "if you can't beat them, then join them".
@@noseboop4354 Except she never meant to 'beat' them, she genuinely adores VOCALOID and UTAU. She loves Miku with all her heart and has used Gekiyaku. She joined them from the first second. :')
Her vocal range is absolutely INSANE!! Definitely recommend her cover of “God-ish” too!!!
Coming next week!
@@chrisliepe Excited to see it!! You’ll love it!!
Ado is what happens when a (genius) human imitates a robot that is imitating a human. I don't know if you know anything about Vocaloid but it is a pretty interesting phenomenon and while I don't love the sound of most actual vocaloid voices, the singers who trained themselves by covering these songs, like Ado, have created whole new worlds of possibilities.
I am pretty sure without Hatsune Miku we wouldn't have the Ado we have today.
ボカロの曲とアドの相性はバッチリですね。既存の作曲家(メジャーで活躍してる人)ではアドの良さを出しきれない気がしますね
@@kamikome1494 I agree 100%
It's like artificial voices allow us to explore what could be possible, as they only exist in the world of ideas, then we gotta find the how with our physical voices.
Yesss for real. Miy Yuu is the same
@@a-3338 Thanks, def going to check that out :)
I believe Ado's Odo Live version would be great for the next Ado reaction. It's unbelievable how she can sing like that at the end of a 2-hours concert!
So long as they do a compare/contrast, similar to their approach with Ado's cover of Unravel. Though super impressive at the end of a show, the produced track is worth hearing & I think their video for it is so much fun.
Ado is the best singer in Japan.
It is said that she has 200 voices.
She says herself that even if she sings a lot of songs on the stage, she won't have a sore throat the next day,
The most impressive part isn't just her vocal toolbox, but how she uses it to express the depth of the lyrics.
If you looked a little into the meaning of her words you'd find a lot of inspiration for WHEN she decides to use those vocal techniques.
I love how you not just react to it, but also analyze her vocal technique as well, and because of that i learn new things
The fact she is self taught makes me even more impressed
alot vocaloids singers are self taught
I love how you explain how to do certain singing techniques ado does! I was Inspired to start singing again after I came across Ado and I fell in love with how she sings, especially since it seems more free/experimental, raw, and emotional. I honestly found it difficult to sing and add distortion to my voice until I came across your reaction videos to ado, and I noticed a lot of progress!
I also love how you not afraid to show the difficulty of attempting to do some notes/screams Ado does, it helps me feel better about how it takes me a lot of experimenting 😅
I love Ado so mutch 💙💙💙😭
BAHAHAHA I LOVE THIS GUY. THE WAY HE SQUINTED AND LOOKED UP THE MOMENT THE SONG PLAYED 0:31 IS KIND OF FUNNY TBH. One of my reactions when I first heard Ado
If you want to hear all of her voices. Try listening to her cover of God-ish or Kamippoina
God-ish covered by Ado feel like dozen of people are singing with all the different voice
Yes please do god-ish!
Yes! Her cover of godish is like 5 different singers
この人が聞いてる時の表情、めちゃくちゃしっかり歌声を咀嚼してるのが伝わってめっっちゃ好き
まじで神っぽいな聞いて欲しいな、、最初誰かわからん歌声だから、、、
honsore
I get goosebumps every time I listen to her. She's amazing. So glad you got to listen to her!
I think this is the most thorough and in-depth analysis I’ve seen of her vocal performance on this cover. Which is nice cause you can tell she’s doing a lot in this, it’s just hard for us non-vocalists to figure out what exactly
前回の唱からずっと次の配信を待っていました😄
罪と罰、選曲最高です!
楽しそうに聴いてる姿を見ていると、こちらまで楽しく嬉しく思います。
聴いてほしい曲があり過ぎる‥
ODO
Tot Musica
Fleeting Lullaby
まだまだたくさん!
次も楽しみにしています!
はいー‼️☺️
I went to her live last month.
Her real voice was more amazing than recording version.
I want you to go to her live someday^ω^
There are english subtitles to Ado's songs so don't worry! 🙂❤
tbh i wouldnt put subs on for foreign language songs by anyone - any % of attention given to reading is lost to listening! You can check the lyrics out before or after or in later listens tho ofcourse.. but i dont think its a good idea for first reactions/listens usually.

I love that entire section towards the end. There's so much emotion being conveyed. The way she's using her voice, the audible exhales, the way it builds, the music becoming more and more chaotic in the background throughout...it's so good. It perfectly encapsulates anger, desperation, and sorrow
I never get bored of repeating it!
🤯 Wow Great analysis and really a great example of what you teach. Love it! 🤩 Especially helpful for me as a female vocalist hearing a female voice do all these crazy, messy, sweet, jagged, smooth, all together, falling apart, amazing sounds and hear how fantastically they come together to form an outstanding performance. I’m so pumped. Thanks… gotta go listen to the other video now…
If you like Ado's songs I would recommend you "Odo" and "New Genesis" or her live performance of "New Genesis".
I love how genuinely excited you get when you do these reactions. Especially ado's
More Ado :)
Im so excited for this.
I love your analysis the most!
I really like watching you enjoying the song, too😊
Analyses like these make me appreciate already brilliant songs so much more ❤
glad to see a fellow appreciator of Ado's vocal range. I don't think I've heard a song from her I've disliked, but some that really showcase her voice are God-ish, Fleeting Lullaby, Odo, and Töt Musica (Fleeting Lullaby is my personal favorite out of these)
more Ado!!!! thanks for these videos!!
I really love the way you experience EVERYTHING of the song 😭
I came here after seeing this video reaching 100k+ views and I'm really impressed with what you got to show us. Never heard about Ado before and I'm already a huge fan. Her voice is amazing and her techniques flawlesss. I have no idea what's she saying, but she touched me deeply with her expressions. I'll look forward to know more of her work. Thanks as always, Chris
Dude, it's a thrill watching you listen to music. I only just found your channel in another Ado analysis video you did, and was THRILLED to see you do this song. Very nicely done, my guy. 🤘
That song shows about her vocal range, god-ish shows how versatily she can bring to her voice. I think that would be great if you analyze.
as an ado fan since 2020, this song doesn't represent 10% of her skill. There is a lot of underground songs that she did that didn't get this attention that shows her real range. She has an insane versatility on techniques, not just range, she can adjust her range by also changing the techniques.
@@renbowoany good underrated recommendations?
I’ve rewatched all these ado reactions so many times now lol :) Maybe i just really like hearing you praise my favorite singer haha
I like the fact you mentioned how she experiments with her voice which is something I do as well (I’m not a professional vocalist by any means) by singing songs from different genres and even languages (I only know English so it sounds like gibberish when I try) and it definitely unlocks things in my voice I never knew I could do 🤩 thank you for the insight and reaction to this
i love your analysis!
God-ish is the song that makes you feel like there's 10 vocalists in 1 song
Love listening to your analysis of ado songs! Hope you listen to more of her works like odo and the one piece film red songs like backlight, fleeting lullaby, and tot musica!
i love your reactions so much and what you do. you helped me to put in words what mixed voice is and showed me that vocal freedom actually exists in my own voice. by the way, i know there are japanese singers who can sing like a female and still talk like a man. wolpis carter, miy yuu, and mafumafu. some of them can even growl and do distortion
Great analysis
ライブの映像も見て欲しい😊
and now tot musica
what? just what? That was really fun!!! thanks!
OMG OMG OMG You did it!!! I just started watching but the hype is insane As a singer very new to aggressive vocals, I've been analyzing Ado, and specifically this song, for over a year now to implement into my own vocal techniques and I'm very excited to get new insight from someone who has more experience. Thank you for sharing!
Have u heard Usseewa (piano version)? I feel like this version really displays Ado’s vocals
@@yuno0807 I've listened to every Ado song under the sun and I love it!! Ussewa piano version is also really great to dissect her vocals and it's really interesting to see that she still uses similar techniques as this video! But Crime & Punishment is a great song to practice vocal-wise because the slower transitions in tone give you more time to switch gears!
@@MaeFaeMelodies ohhh nice, i just clicked on your channel and i immediately noticed who you get your inspiration from (Ado) 😊
@@MaeFaeMelodies I’m going to check out some of your covers rn 😊
@@yuno0807 ohhh thank you for listening!!
Man, i love watching this guy getting hyped while listening to my favorite artist
I really enjoy your videos Mr. Liepe, thank you.
Waiting for more reaction to Ado!
This is the masterpiece
Even though I'm not a singer myself I find your analyses so enjoyable to watch!
I really love vocals that are interesting with a lot of variations, honest and emotional and you're the first coach I found that emphasize this aspects this much.
(Still I hope for a little reply for my mails)
Thanks for watching and enjoying with me!! Have you been emailing me?
@@chrisliepe Yeah... I did send quite a long message, through your site contact form.
I forgot about Ado for a while. Your video brought me out of a mini depression. Such emotional and beautiful music! Thank you so much. I had not felt this happy in a few days since my sickness. BTW the original singer is called "椎名林檎" I would be interested to listen to what you think about their similarities and differences
Which stands for "Shiina Ringo" for anyone wondering
OH MY GODDDDD YES YES!!!!!! more ado reactions!!!!!!!!!
Your description of the song gave me an idea of what the song is about.
Reading through the lyrics, I thought it described crazy, mad love, like multiple personalities.
The singing voice alone conveys it in a chilling way, awesome!
The original of this song is by singer-songwriter Ringo Shiina.
Ringo Shiina's singing is much sexier🎵
Seeing how much you enjoyed this song I'd love to see your analysis of Backlight by Ado I absolutely adore the lead into the third chorus so much and I'd love to see a breakdown of what exactly is happening LOL
yey~ you finally reacted to this song!! thank you for the react!
Love the analysis. I'm not knowledgeable about music in the least nor did I understand how amazing what Ado was doing when I listened to her songs for the past 2 years so this put things into perspective for me. I mean I was of course aware of how diverse and raw her voice sounds but I could never put my finger on how she was doing it.
Thank you for explaining, i don’t know really know how to growl without damaging my vocals but you really helped me out :)
Thanks for the linkie🙏
At the start i was cringing when u started "singing" but after a bit i understood how mutch good and capable you are, i respect you so mutch
I love Ado. Her singing sometimes reminds me a bit of sia with the whole 'leaning into limits' and almost voicecracks in songs. Great Video!
More Ado, please! :D I love your excited approach and pure joy at hearing her vocal range and passion. I recommend "God-ish" for your next video.
Would love a 'Gira gira' analysis! One of my favourites of Ado 🙏
These videos definitely encouraged me to sing along with the song, which has been fun. Even though my voice is in a totally different range!
Keep going with Ado, you can't really go wrong with any of her songs or covers. Just about every one displays something unique about her voice and approach.
I try to cover her song many time it all look's different i always learned something new every song and the new song even and even harder everytime so hard to follow but love her song only one reason i cover it thx u for making this!
LOVED THE VIDEO!!! I saw you commented about how she seems to have a lot of different voices, and because of that I would hardly recommend for you to react to "Goddish", I think you would LOVE it.
Keep up the great content ;)
Good choice❤
If you want to hear Ado exploting how many voices she can do I highly recommend you "God-Ish" by Ado!!! She is like 10 different person
I've been rehearsing this song for a while with this Ado cover, training my voice I'm almost achieving her vocal range 😭💙✨️
Ado’s god-ish,odo live version ,ONE PIECE film red from ado songs! Recommend ❤ I want to see the explanation of the ado’s throat singng 🎉 please ✨
Love ‘Binkusu no sake’
Her voice👑
perfect
if you haven't heard it already, god-ish is such an amazing song to see the vocal ranges she can do, when i first heard it i thought it was multiple people singing, it's absolutely amazing and i think one of my favourite songs from her
Sorry this is long as an fyi and an aside if you keep reacting to Ado make sure to check if the song has CC since there are a lot of them that do have English subs also i do love how much fun you have in this video with your Vocal Analysis and teaching, Crime & Punishment is like Ado's The Sound of Silence. What i mean is it took Disturbed releasing The Sound of Silence for people to understand just how talented David Draiman actually is. Ado's took that Idea and ramped it up by a factor of ten, I love all of Ado's songs but just the power of her voice in this one is still incredible to me since it's just pure singing when her usual style is that playfulness and attitude that she uses in her songs where you never really know what she's going to do. she can flip into Rapping or flip her voice from low to high on a dime in the same verse Godish By Ado (【Ado】 神っぽいな 歌いました) is a good representation of her voice control, Fleeting Lullaby by Ado shows her playfulness and Rap skills. Crime & Punishment is A lot like Gira Gira by Ado in tone with it's seriousness but Crime & Punishment is by far the most pure showing of Ado's Voice and just how Talented she is.
Bro this is like watching my dad talk ab something he’s wanted to tell me for years ab whatever interest he’s had, BRO THESE MAKE ME SO HAPPY
Fleeting Lullaby by ado is also sooo goood, highly recommend it
You should definitely react to “Darling dance” from ado. It’s a cover as well and there she is playing with “different voices” of her. It’s incredibly
She released very beautiful ballad yesterday 💙
Just made a video on it!
Wow, I'm looking foward to it!
I honestly love how your explanations are really clear, it makes me wanna sing more lol
But i sound like a dehydrated chicken when I do sadly 🤕
Give it time and non judgement! :)
You should react to her God-ish cover too, Its so insane hearing how her she could sing in a totally different voice to the point that you don't even recognize her , the way she sings it in my opinion is way better than the original.
I would definitely recommend "Tot Musica" from the One Peice film. It is also another great song to hear range from her.
love going on youtube and seeing a new video from chris that says "37 seconds ago"
Ha!! That’s good timing!!!
Nice🔥🤘
If you interested in Ado's live performance, you can search for her New Genesis performance on her official channel
i know that youd love god ish by her or maybe odo live!!! shes insanely good live!!
BTW, one thing, any song she ends with "歌いました" is a cover song. It means "I sung" (Japanese verbs are at the end of sentences) and she uses it to indicate whenever she's singing a song that wasn't created for her. This is a cover of the original which was sung and written by Ringo Sheena.
The other song ado covered called "God-ish" its incredible because she plays with her voice much more than in Show i think
Looking forward to reviewing that one!
She did a Ringo cover?! That's so fire!
You should check out her stuff, btw! Shiina Ringo that is. Ado is like a new-gen Shiina so it makes sense she's one of her idols. They're both so cool
Comparing to the original by Sheena Ringo, the way Ado interprets this song gives me a more violent, more desperate, almost hysterical vibe to it, you could feel the anger in her voice when she sings, almost like she found out she’ve been cheated on and now releasing all her anger by destroying literally everything in her room with a spiked baseball bat.
On the other hand the way Sheena Ringo handles feels less angry and a bit more emotional where you could hear the ups and downs in her voice. Still angry, but not as angry as Ado, just throwing things away instead batting everything up in the room
But nevertheless, both of them are really talented singers and BTW Ado just released a song called All Night Radio, def worth checking it out
その他のAdoの曲も聴いてみてね( ´,_ゝ`)
I'd love to see you react to her Film Red songs, especially Fleeting Lullaby and Tot Musica whenever you have the chance.
If you wanna listen to her extensive vocal range you should definitely listen to "God-ish"!! It's one of my favorites and it really shows how amazing her voice is
