I dont know if you speak English but i have a question about the Ares reel. I recently bought this area reel and i think the reel is excellent. Very rubust and rigid but at the same time very light weight. I have a problem with the star drag. When i engage more tension with the star drag it puts pressure on the spool so its much harder to take in line with the handle. It also makes some Noice. The strange thing is that its not a even pressure but only at a certain point when i turn the handle. What could the issue be ?
Yes, I don’t speak English, but I will translate to try to help you. In theory, adjusting the drag should not pressure the spool. Did you disassemble the reel to check for anything unusual?
@OutlanderPesca but im sure it is the drag that is the issue. No i have not opened the reel because i dont want to impact the warranty. Dont know if i want to send it back and get a new reel or try to fix it myself.
@@robin_lundahl Open the reel and check if all the parts are in their proper place and correctly installed. If you don’t damage it, you won’t lose the warranty, since there are no seals.
@@OutlanderPesca I have not opened the reel yet. Im waiting for an answer from Johncoo if its okay. But now the reel is even worse. Now the reel handle is stuck. It wont go either back or forward. Thats without even fishing with it 🤦🏼 Im starting to think its something wrong with the coupling mechanism. Lets just hope its only something thats not has been properly mantled.
