After a simple check of the system circulation, Check for a partially blocked hex ! The water can operate, normally with a probable mod down, but the heating circulation can be badly affected. Can normally clean them with an aggressive cleaner - powerflush machine direct on the 22mm feeds More problematic on the 37KW boiler - system and combi. Also dont operate the boiler on max or chimney with circulation issues and keep temps down ! The boiler you were working on looked like it was the earlier hex with the overheat fuse at the top. Activate that and you are in trouble ! New Hex - £500 + A lot of money spent on that boiler - is it worth it ?
My circulTion issue wast at the diverter not going fully to ch position. Pin stack half way through like mid position. We only reckon a week aft Er when it fully blocked in hw position and no more ch. At the beginning we were suspecting blockages, air locks, broken valves and so on. It was a remeha avanta plus. New cartrige and motor, happy days
I would say put water through the flow and see if it comes out the return pipe. Proves no blockage. My suspicion it could be the divert valve, if the cartridge in not in the body in the correct orientation you will get the issue you are having. Good luck 👍
Agree. I’d be disconnecting the flow and return at the boiler and with a hose connected to an outside tap send water round the system to see what comes out of the 2nd hose connected to the return. Also I’d be changing the right hand side panel too after all the insulation & sound deadening has fallen off. Love an Ecotec but I’m afraid so many are neglected on social housing or insurance(BG, Homeserve) contracts with minimum preventative maintenance carried on annual “service”.
@@matthewtrueblood408 inspection service done in less than 10 minutes. Replace the boiler every 8 - 10 year's due to lack of servicing. Big companies make more money in the long run
It’s not an old one pipe system by any chance which is linked through each rad with a stuck trv? Just a possible suggestion as would shut off circulation to system
Interesting fault. Might be worth using a thermal camera and walk around the property following the pipework. Would be great to have a follow up video on this
@@snapgas9832 so it's not like a Glowworm, when the side panel insulation is worn, they advise you change as integrity is compromised? I'll ask the question with Vailant
Insulation to side panels on ecotecs is for sound deadening nothing more. I have seen a batch of 824s with no insulation. My old supervisor worked for vaillant for 35 years. S53 generally is down to main heat exchanger being blocked. However when fitting an erp pump into the older models there is a restrictor kit available to fit inside the flow into the heat exchanger. As without kit faults and blocking status codes will occur. I believe f75 and also s53 possible. I haven't worked on vaillants for a while now so there could be technical updates with regards to erp pump. Best of luck. Heat ex certainly sounds blocked to me all that clicking

Had pretty much same as you, was convinced the main heat exchanger was blocked but just checked the diverter cartridge as a shot in the dark an it was wrong way round! Worked like a dream after🤞 best of luck👍
Exactly my thoughts there mate, has a programmer in another room so probably converted to combi at some point but all hidden in boxing and below ground Thanks for watching
Good to see you making videos again, always watched all your previous videos
Thanks a lot! Will continue
Thanks for making vids again mate always good for learning
No probs mate

A lot of money spent on that boiler - is it worth it ?
The way the waterways are on this hex its really hard to be blocked. Its something with the system 100 percent
Or diverter stuck in hw
Pretty sure the pump is fine the new high efficiency pumps don’t have pump speed they modulate down with boiler

Brilliant
Had a similar thing with a baxi recently, turned out to be the return valve broken inside. It felt fine but the ball inside wasn't opening properly
Great shout there mate!! Will look into yhis

Cheers mate, great suggestions, with the diverter cartridge it would also run down the flow on hot water I think, anyway I will update

It would be interesting to see if a brand new diverter valve would solve the problem, even just replacing the diverter motor?
@@CarlAtkinson-zu1zh I would replace the whole diverter personally. The guy that done the flush must of had flow through the system
I hate jobs like that, i had it too and on a valiant, in the end changed divertor and it sorted the problem!
Yeah very annoying, I will wait and see what comes from it over the coming days, I’ve tried my best

The right hand panel insulation looks comprimised, does that not affect the integrity?
That’s insulation as you say mate, the case seal is the front insulation panel and the 2 clips either side of the pcb panel

it's always good to know.
Spoke to Vaillant, Tech. They advise that that the panels should be replaced as the integrity is at risk.
