    When you read (near the ending) about the author's observations of the peasants having wordly knowledge of orher nations, and it being detrimental to them and their trust in leadership by virtue of awareness that higher standards of living exists elsewhere, it very much reminded me of Plato's cave allegory. Perspective, and the contrasting observations of duel forces/events/objects, are truly the basis for how we navigate reality, notice patterns in nature and categorize the things around us for future reference. The man who knows not what lies beyond the cave, need not envy what he knows to not exist.

      I too found this channel 3 days ago and was amazed at the quality of information and the undeniable charisma of the creator. I still am consuming w caution, as YT typically won't allow vids on these topics unless they are an Op. And to add even more raised eyebrows, 3 days ago i recall being amazed at how this channel was created in september of 2024, had about 50 vids up, but was already at 1.2k followers. Not only has he upped his uploading to 5+ vids per day, he is somehow now at 4k+ subscribers? • @elhappyfish
    @elhappyfish 12 дней назад +5

    Good video! I really enjoyed it. I am a Hispanic male (for context), and I live in Russia, specifically in Moscow. While Russia is a modern country with a highly educated population, I can still observe traces of what you read in that book. A lot has changed since the Bolshevik Revolution, yet the underlying dynamics of Russian society remain remarkably consistent.
    While I don’t wish to romanticize communism, I must admit that I’m somewhat grateful the Bolsheviks took over Russia. Their rule, despite its many flaws, provided the opportunity for previously enslaved Russians to learn how to read and write. Although they continued to face oppression and severe restrictions on freedom of speech and thought, literacy opened the door to critical thinking. Even if such thinking had to be done in secrecy, it was a significant step forward.
    At the same time, I’m deeply thankful that communism eventually fell in Russia, and that churches were rebuilt. It seems that God allowed such an evil event to occur for a greater purpose, though I hesitate to make any definitive claims and risk being blasphemous.
    What I wanted to emphasize is that, even after all this progress, cities like Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, and several others are now home to highly educated, cultured people-innovative and free thinkers. However, a significant portion of the population, particularly low-skilled workers, still live in conditions reminiscent of those endured by the enslaved people of the past. They age quickly, turn to alcohol, and lead stagnant lives, confined to small flats in communist-era housing blocks. Many share rooms, subsist on sausages, bread, and pasta, and seem unaware that they could aspire to a better life.

    Fun facts, Jews were granted sole rights to make Brandy in Poland, at a time where they controlled and leased land to farmers. They created famines because the grains went to their brandy making and shipping to other countries, and thus, eventually slave revolts began. In this case the nobility were the Jews, the sovereign is the ruler. Poland used Jewish financiers to make them money, until they found out they were causing more trouble than they were worth. Usury, debt slavery, etc. The same old stuff. As far as the magician goes, probably a Jew once again. In ancient times Jews were considered magicians. Just look at how many are magicians today.

    "A court of equity, also known as an equity court or chancery court, is a court authorized to apply principles of equity rather than principles of law to cases brought before it. These courts originated from petitions to the Lord Chancellor of England and primarily heard claims for relief other than damages, such as specific performance and extraordinary writs. Over time, most equity courts merged with courts of law,[1] and the adoption of various Acts granted courts combined jurisdiction to administer common law and equity concurrently. Courts of equity are now recognized for complementing the common law by addressing its shortcomings and promoting justice.
    In the early years of the United States, some states followed the English tradition of maintaining separate courts for law and equity. Others combined both types of jurisdiction in their courts, as the US Congress did for federal courts. United States bankruptcy courts serve as an example of a US federal court that operates as a court of equity. A few common law jurisdictions, such as the U.S. states of Delaware, Mississippi, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Tennessee, continue to preserve the distinctions between law and equity as well as between courts of law and courts of equity. In New Jersey, this distinction is upheld between the civil and general equity divisions of the New Jersey Superior Court."

      @ ok but just to be clear, the system being described in this book is Russian feudalism, whereby Christian Russian peasants/serfs are feudally enslaved to the Christian Russian Boyar landed gentry class, right? So I don’t initially see the connection. Also, the French guy is describing his travels in Tobolsk, Russia, which is in Siberia, where there were few if any Jews at the time of the writing of this book (1790). Jews in Russia were restricted to the Pale of Settlement in the extreme West of the Russian Empire until 1861 when Tsar Alexander II lifted the settlement restrictions on Jews (as well as emancipated the serfs in the same year). All this is to say the area that the travelogue is reporting from probably had very little Jewish influence at this time. But I’ll watch the other videos in the series to see if I can make the connection.

    You believe this? It sounds like a hit piece full of condemnation and slander and bigotry as though intended to slight that country at every level. This is the homeland of Dostoyevsky of Tolstoy and of Tchaikovsky and countless other very literate and artistically gifted men. I do not credit it! Ps sounds like your diet might be low in sodium? Take care and God Bless All.

      Russia is also home to the fake “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” a known fraud that was easily debunked by literary scholars.
      Before any hatebreeders respond, I request you drop your skewed perspective long enough to read something that doesn’t feed your confirmation bias and embolden your cognitive dissonance as the evidence is readily available.

      Excuse me fellow commenter, but the last thing you mentioned there intrigued me. How is it that you believe to have detected low sodium levels from the way he speaks? Or did you assume that based on his frequent need to shift positions? Genuinely curious, as sometimes I get leg cramps while lying down, and a friend once suggested I was lacking in electrolytes, so I'm now wondering if they actually knew what they were talking about afterall.

    The history of the world is twisted and it's better not to know the real history so as not to get unnecessarily upset. At the same time, it constantly surprises me that things are always worse than they seem. There is nothing left to do but laugh In the end, otherwise you can go crazy.
    Those "f" and "s" are different sounds. Look at the word "flaves" 9:02. What matters is not how words are written, but how they sound.
    "Friendship ... has never been known in Ruffia" (с) Basically not much has changed since then, people from western countries have written nonsense about the country and still do. Ha-ha!
