I have a few of my grandmother's pieces. The decision to leave them as is or to repurpose them was difficult. Her tiger oak dining room table which she got from her mother, who got it as a hand me down in the 1920's, from a woman whose house she cleaned, was sitting in a shed. I didn't need it as a dining room table so I cut the center post down, refinished it and I use it as a coffee table. It wasn't a Stickley but it is beautiful table and it sits in a place of honor in my home. Other pieces similar to your bar cart, I tucked in staircase landings and corners, after sprucing them up with a little polish. I learned this mantra from my Grandma about polishing furniture: One a week for a month, once a month for a year and once a year for the rest of your life!

Brooklynborn83..you tickled me big time with the last sentence.. how true that sounds!! That's wonderful to hear you have your grandmother's piece and is using it (btw, I love tiger oak).. . I wouldn't doubt that's probably how my grandmother got hers, because times were extremely tough back then... So knowing we have their pieces.. they're smiling for sure
