I have made a few flights over the years. Last year I went to Portugal. I don't feel confident in my upcoming trip to New Zealand next month. I turn 73 when I am there and a female traveling alone. While I feel energetic and capable, technology in a vastly changing world has me more than a little unsure. I've been watching many youtube videos, and yours give me some needed reassurance. Thanks Mary
I'm a 37 year young, capable female that also wants to travel again after about a decade, and back then I was with someone. Is there a website or app to find traveling partners/groups? I can cover my own expenses, I just don't want to do it alone 😄
Here are the recommendations in the video 1. Set up Uber properly in each country, ensure safety features are enabled 2. Share your trip itinerary with contacts at home in case of emergency 3. Get a local sim card, or setup a travel e-sim on your phone 4. Download offline map of where you're staying or hike routes 5. Take a small effort to learn a few words of the local language 6. Look up current exchange rate and get a basic feel for prices abroad 7. Start with a beginner-friendly country (countries which speak your language, have a large expat community) 8. Leave your expensive stuff at home 9. Try to avoid overpacking (You don't need 50% of what you want to take) 10. Get a travel power adapter 11. Be prepared for immigration entry requirements (Visas, passport) 12. Take photos of all important documents 13. Always get travel insurance (You never know when you'll need it) 14. Don't blindly follow RUclipsr advice, do your research, trust your gut 15. Know what you're allowed to fly with (don't take a swiss army knife in your carry-on luggage)
I’m 21 planning a weekend trip to Rome. It will be my first time going abroad without my family. As much as I’m excited about this whole situation I also feel a big responsibility. Thanks for this video
I disagree with carrying a "universal" adapter. I prefer to buy multiple simple adapters for the country I am visiting. Smaller, lighter, cheaper and I can use multiple outlets.
I can see the advantages of that if you’re only visiting an area that has one type of adapter. But if you’re switching countries a lot, it can be a hassle (and you end up carrying several..or leaving them behind and then forgetting to buy a new one when you need it). But you’re right, universal adapters are a bit clunky.
@@ProjectUntethered yeah, but all of Europe uses one standard except for the UK. Thailand is compatible with US plugs. The Philippines is compatible with non polarized US plugs. I travel with a 6 port USB adapter and a 20' extension cord.
YOur videos are so helpful! I've subbed to your channel. I have no travel plans in the near future BUT when I do travel, I"m going to binge-watch your videos. I like Nora Dunn's channel too. (Professional Hobo).
Any place that requires a printout of your bank statements, sounds like it’s full of scammers and they’ll contact their friends as soon as you step away from the counter!!! I will not choose their countries to visit. 🤷🏽♀️
If you are a tall or big person, or a woman with deeper décolletage, bring the clothes and shoes. You may not be able to find your size in Asian nations.
I hadn’t thought about that, good point!! In that case, the first trip will probably be a learning experience to see how much clothes is the perfect amount. Another idea that could help is to try to live out of your suitcase for a week or so before leaving on your trip as a sort of practice run 🤓

As you travel learn foreign language to make your safari experience better
First time traveler, I want to go to Thailand but the 30 hour flight seems very daunting.

Iceland is another country, surprisingly, where just about everyone is fluent in English.
Ooo that’s a good one!!

Great
But what if you have no one to tell where you goo
What about a friend or family member?
Yea, how you keep connections with your friends when from the past 10 years keep moving from one country to other?
@alonsomoslie8395 that’s definitely one of the hardest parts 😕 but if you’re sending them updates all the time, maybe that would make it easier
