I’m fairly sure The Bachman Books was never published in the US without Rage. I’ve seen UK editions without Rage, but I’ve never seen a US edition of the omnibus without Rage.
That's interesting! I seem to recall seeing the omnibus in US bookstores with the cover image that looks like a bunch of TV monitors, and it not including Rage. But now I look it up and I see that image on the UK omnibus. I may be mistaken, or potentially what I saw was an import of that edition?
@@SKFirstEditionsI suspect that must have been an import. I remember when the individual books came out in that late 90s Signet design, it wasn’t long after Rage was pulled, probably 1999-2000.
This uK edition had a very low print run of 2,000 copies only. The book contains King’s foreword explaining his reasons why he used the pseudonym Richard Bachman to publish these novels.
I would be happy to find the paperback in decent condition without paying an arm and leg. I had the hardback 85 edition years ago, no clue what happened to it, I could kick myself in the ass for not holding on to it!!🤦
We all have those stories! But I'm sure at the time it was "just another book," and why not? Good luck on your search! A while back I found a first edition, second printing (1/2) at a bookstore here in town for $25. I was pretty stoked! They turn up every now and then.
@@SKFirstEditions Exactly! Not long ago I found a perfect paperback of the Stand, the uncut edition which for a while I was on the lookout for bc I never read that version. Anyway, when I wasn't looking for it, I found it in my local bookstore for 4 bucks! It was like winning the lottery 🤣🤩
@@angelwalker3260 score! That's great. I love stories like that. I always have a list on my "back burner" and just generally try to go in with no expectations at all (because so often there is nothing notable). The key is just to keep making the rounds and going places that sell books!

It's very rare! But for some reason not as valuable or desirable as the US. In my opinion, that makes it a great item for a collector to pursue.
