The guy who didn't score in 91 matches. Scored 4 goals in the final. Won the cup. Right now the best sniper in the playoffs
I find it so weird that Valeri Nichushkin was bought out by the Stars, didn't score a single goal in their last season with them, and now he is a scoring threat every time he touches the ice.
Dallas was simply not a good fit for him. Ruff buried him on the 4th line and made him a healthy scratch, relegated him to AHL most of the nights.
I know right? the Avs are the LAD of Hockey All-stars and guys every one else gave up on who are now all-stars

On Nichushkin hat trick goal, Rantanen worked so hard to get that pass over to Nichushkin. Now that is teammates working together.
Avs definitely missed this guy in the playoffs last season

Sportsnet cut off the part where it showed the ice pretty much submerged in hats and Nichushkin looking around with a big smirk, not surprised sportsnet doesn't want to actually highlight the big moment.
Not that surprising for Toronto or Winnipeg.
Teams who have a good regular season for the first time in years need to learn hard lessons in the playoffs before they can make a run. I expect the Oilers to get the farthest. They've been through this a few times now.
If not the Avs, I could see it being the Oilers vs Canes. Both teams have faced the hard lessons and heartbreak
